Chapter 257
by fanqienovelChapter 257: The Sudden Awakening
“We don’t understand much about Boundaries. If other Passages exist, where could they be?” Heaven’s Sacred Mountain was one possibility, but Ming Ye couldn’t have emerged from there since its seal remained intact.
“It’s unlikely to be in the lower realm—what are the odds of both being here?” Feng Rong interjected. “Ming Ye appeared in the Immortal Realm yet fears descending. Any other Passage must relate to the Immortal Realm!”
You You considered this and found the reasoning sound. “We should alert Elders Two and Four to stay vigilant.”
Regardless of Ming Ye’s origin, caution was wise. If one demon tribe member could wreak havoc in the Immortal Realm, more would spell disaster!
You You immediately pulled out a messaging talisman to notify the elders. Noticing Feng Rong still clutching her hand, she suddenly remembered something.
“I found something in the Demon Realm,” she said, recalling the strange skill icon in her mind. With a thought, she activated it silently. A bell-shaped item materialized in her palm.
“This is…” Feng Rong and Yuan Qi leaned closer, sensing no energy from the object. “It looks like an ordinary bell, not a magical tool.”
“I discovered it where the Bone Dragon slept in the Demon Realm’s abyss,” You You stated gravely. “I believe…this is the ‘Heaven’ volume from the Yin volume of the Heavenly Dao Book!”
“What?!” Both men stared in shock—both at its demonic origin and its celestial significance.
The bell grew stranger upon closer inspection. Lacking spiritual energy, celestial energy, and divine power, it seemed mundane. Yet in Zhen Yan Sect’s energy-rich environment, even common items absorbed traces of power—except this bell, which repelled all energy, remaining utterly plain.
You You wouldn’t have noticed it had it not transformed into a mental skill icon. Remembering the Messenger of the Underworld’s words about the Yin volume’s five forms, this had to be the ‘Heaven’ volume’s true shape.
“Does it even work? How?” Feng Rong frowned. The Wheel Mark at least aided soul reincarnation—this bell seemed useless.
“No idea.” You You shook her head. As a skill, it offered no instructions—like an unexplained add-on.
“But if it’s truly the ‘Heaven’ volume…” She gave the bell an experimental shake. A clear chime rang through the main hall.
A refreshing Presence swept outward like cleansing wind, banishing fatigue and sharpening minds. Spiritual energy surged as clarity filled every corner.
“This…” Yuan Qi and Feng Rong gaped. The wave expanded beyond the hall, enveloping all of Zhen Yan Sect—yet You You felt nothing!
“What’s wrong?” She blinked at their stunned faces.
“You didn’t feel that?” Feng Rong demanded.
“Feel what?”
Before he could explain, Feng Rong paled. “Wushan’s seal is breaking! The Sacred Tree space—” He vanished in a flash of motion.
You You and Yuan Qi exchanged alarmed looks and gave chase. Thanks to the teleportation array she’d installed between Wushan and Zhen Yan Sect after the Lightning Feather incident, they reached Second Peak’s array instantly.
Emerging beneath Wushan’s fallen Sacred Tree, they found Feng Rong already tearing open the Sacred Tree space. Purple Feng Clan divine power billowed from the rift.
You You’s breath caught. The dormant eggs shouldn’t emit such potent energy unless…
Feng Rong plunged through the portal. They followed, finding him sprinting past glowing massive eggs toward his parents’ resting place. The eggs seemed brighter than last time—or was it sunlight’s trick?
Nearing the destination, Feng Rong froze mid-stride.
“What’s wrong?” You You halted behind him.
He stepped aside mechanically, voice trembling. “You You…my parents…they’re waking up.”
“!!!!”
Ahead, two radiant eggs pulsed with light. Cracks spiderwebbed across their shells, brightness intensifying until—
CRACK.
The eggs shattered. Blinding light coalesced into a phoenix spreading majestic wings, then condensed into a human form. As the glare faded, the figure collapsed.
Feng Rong lunged to catch the falling man—youthful, red-robed, bearing his features but more mature.
“Are you…?” Feng Rong nudged him nervously.
The man’s eyes fluttered open. “Who…?” Recognition struck. “Ran Ran!”
He shoved Feng Rong aside, staggering toward the second cracking egg.
