Chapter 47: Contest Within the Beast-Tamer Formation

An elder from the Song family appeared to recognize the Huangque Pharmacist. He let out a thunderous roar.

“Save me!” Seeing the newcomers, the Huangque Pharmacist actually screamed for help.

Lu Jin raised an eyebrow. “You know them? What makes you think they would save you?”

The pharmacist’s voice trembled. Bound and humiliated, his heart was filled with nothing but resentment and rage; he was practically howling. “They surely have something to ask of me! Kill these two immediately! I will grant you any condition you desire!”

The pharmacist’s current state left Song Wen and his group with complicated expressions. They clearly had not expected Lu Jin and Long Xiwei to possess the means to capture the Huangque Pharmacist alive. Furthermore, it seemed the pharmacist had no room to resist.

“Young Master, I saw a portrait of the Huangque Pharmacist in my younger years. This is definitely him! We cannot let this fellow take him away! Otherwise, the Family Head’s life will be forfeit!” one of the elders said in a low, dark tone.

“Lu Jin!” Hearing this, Song Wen let out another loud shout at Lu Jin. “I don’t care what filthy tricks you used: release the Huangque Pharmacist at once! Otherwise, today will be the day you die!”

As his voice fell, the two fourth-grade Jindan elders behind him surged with power. An overwhelming pressure instantly enveloped the area.

Lu Jin cold-laughed. “This is the Beast-Tamer Grand Formation. Not only are the Beast Tamers outside watching like tigers over their prey, but there are no fewer than a thousand great demons within this array. Are you sure you want to start a fight here?”

At these words, Song Wen and the others frowned. A flicker of wariness appeared in their eyes. After entering the formation, they had suffered the same fate as Lu Jin’s group: they were besieged by demonic beasts. Having barely escaped to this point, they were already shaken. Lu Jin’s words made them feel even more uncertain.

“Heh. So what? Once we strike, you will be the first to die!” Song Wen feigned composure, his voice icy.

Lu Jin smiled. “That might not be the case.” He turned his attention back to his captive, the Huangque Pharmacist. “Old man, you’ve been at a stalemate with those Beast Tamers for years. What methods were you relying on? Speak. Otherwise, things will become very painful for you.”

Hearing the threat, the pharmacist opened his mouth to roar, but instead, he let out a shrill scream!

“You! Despicable! You actually dare to threaten the Huangque Pharmacist!” Song Wen’s primary thought was to rescue the pharmacist. “Young Master Lu, hurry and force the way out from him!” Long Xiwei’s eyes were filled with a trace of panic. There were over a thousand demons here, and some possessed terrifying combat power. Even as a Monster Hunter, she would not be able to handle an endless tide of attacks.

Lu Jin nodded. “Understood.” He manipulated the Lingli serpents to pierce several more holes through the pharmacist’s flesh.

“Move!” Seeing a gap torn open in front of them, Lu Jin grabbed Long Xiwei’s hand and fled at high speed! Of course, the Lingli serpent tethering the Huangque Pharmacist acted like a rope, dragging him along as they charged forward.

“Curse you! Kill them!” Song Wen’s eyes were filled with shock and rage. He roared as the two elders frantically slashed at the surrounding demons.

As the formation within vibrated, the group of Beast Tamers outside was also alerted. They turned their gazes toward the disturbance. “Huh? That is…”

When the young Beast Tamer saw Lu Jin dragging the Huangque Pharmacist while charging out of the formation, his brow knitted tightly together. “He actually captured the Huangque Pharmacist alive? Quickly, shift the formation! Open the Gate of Life!”
