Chapter 363
by fanqienovelChapter 363: The Great Invasion of the Primal Wilderness 5/6
"Hmph…"
"Now my preparations are flawless."
After passing the "Emergency State Bill," Barbatos visibly swelled with arrogance.
"My access to resources has expanded!"
"Finally, I can fully concentrate forces to properly handle certain Giant Gods."
He produced a chessboard, positioning three white "Queens" upon it.
"Giant God, I’ve deciphered your patterns from gathered intelligence."
"Your next move will inevitably lead you to the border between the ‘Chaos Swamp Realm’ and the ‘Endless Ether Realm’."
"Near that outpost world."
"I dispatched those three ‘Border Demon Gods’ ahead."
"They would set an inescapable trap there, awaiting your arrival!"
"As for Xidi…"
Barbatos placed a black "Queen" opposite the three white ones, then encircled it with multiple "Chariots."
"The Vast Dragon God will deal with you."
"Even should you prevail, you’d sustain heavy losses."
"Then I’d redeploy you against the Giant God, or send you elsewhere to confront mightier foes."
"This was killing multiple birds with one stone!"
"Hah… Ahahahaha!"
Barbatos laughed uproariously, delighted by his impending triumph.
"Incidentally, that abandoned world was called Saraph, wasn’t it?"
"Perhaps I should send a core councilor to investigate."
"I sense the Giant God is scheming something new."
"Maybe dispatch that seasoned old hand, Astarloth."
—-
"Obstruction!"
"Topple it!"
"Offensive sight!"
"Roooaar—!"
Deep within the approaching heart of the "Chaos Swamp Realm," colossal beings bellowed and raged.
Their eyes held no flicker of reason—only vacant dullness and primal frenzy.
"This is…"
"Armor-clad Vast Dragon Gods!"
"Ten… twenty…"
"There are twenty-five of them!"
"Indeed, it’s quite a large group!"
Gimmerly soared through the void, scouting the intruders.
They were deities from the "Primal Wilderness."
With strong divine bodies and plenty of magic, each one was a very powerful deity.
But these powerful deities had a weakness that might not be a real weakness—low smarts.
Low smarts as a weakness makes sense, but why call it "not a real weakness"?
Because their smarts were so low they couldn’t talk at all.
The only thing they got was violence!
"So…"
Laton suddenly folded his wings and dove down.
"Demon God Forbidden Spell: Heavenly Fire!"
As the demon god chanted, he leveled out again.
"Turn to dust!"
"You dumb things!"
Then…
"Boom—Boom—Boom—!"
Blazing flames rained down from the void!
One after another, fireballs that could burn everything and even pierce the demon god’s Steel Skin slammed into the Vast Dragon Gods!
"Roar—!"
"Howl—!"
Amid the screams, the Vast Dragon Clan members were swallowed one by one by the terrible flames.
The demon god’s forbidden spell covered them completely!
"Good!"
Gimmerly shouted excitedly.
But soon, her triumph vanished.
"Roar…"
"Roar!"
When the flames and smoke cleared, they showed huge divine bodies like mountains.
The Vast Dragon Gods roared, their massive Divine Bodies standing proudly in place, showing no signs of injury.
"Indeed!"
"Is that… an armored species!?"
Gimmerly could see these creatures were covered with uneven bumps, resembling a toad’s skin.
But unlike a toad’s soft warts, these bumps were actually hard "divine bones!"
They encased the deities’ Steel Skin, densely covering their bodies.
"Curse it!"
Though dim-witted and incapable of magic, the Vast Dragon Gods had chosen a path much like the Star-Eater Plutonium Dragons—channeling their immense internal magic purely toward spell resistance!
Coupled with their "divine bone armor" tougher than the "laws of chitin," Gimmerly’s forbidden spells barely inflicted pain.
It was little more than a scratch.
"My magic’s exhausted; I can’t pierce their defenses!"
"And…"
The Vast Dragon Gods stirred!
"Rooooar!"
"Grooowl—!"
The earlier assault had left them seething.
The colossal herd began crashing and brawling amongst themselves!
Their feeble minds couldn’t trace the origin of the flames that had "tickled" them; they only knew the itching felt awful.
When aggrieved, they needed release!
Their companions became targets for fury.
"Crash—!"
"Thud!"
Gigantic Divine Bodies collided with deafening booms.
Occasionally, their massive forms would slam into the Fantasy Tree of Subspace!
"Wham—!"
"Whoosh…"
"Craaaaack—!"
One Fantasy Tree of Subspace groaned, shuddering from the impact of such titanic force.
Fortunately, this was a nearly mature specimen, its girth exceeding even the Vast Dragon Gods’ bulk.
But the surrounding saplings weren’t so fortunate.
"Boom—!"
An exceptionally enormous Vast Dragon God kept charging wildly left and right, smashing into one young Fantasy Tree after another!
"Crack—!"
A half-grown Fantasy Tree wailed as it fell, crashing heavily into the Ether Sea and stirring up a wave of Primal Mud.
The Ether Sea turned murky again!
"Tsk…"
"It seemed the situation had worsened…"
"How should we deal with these creatures…"
With such massive divine bodies and tough magic resistance, any deity would have found it very hard to handle them!
Not to mention there was more than one Vast Dragon God; there was a whole herd!
If they fixed on a target and charged recklessly together, even the core councilors would have ended up no better than the fallen Fantasy Tree of Subspace.
"Barbatos!"
"You let Gimmerly handle these creatures just to get her killed!"
Gimmerly flew around in panic.
But just as she burned with anxiety and helpless rage…
"Roar—rumble…"
A deep roar echoed between the void and the Ether Sea.
The Fantasy Tree of Subspace reflected the roar, amplified it, and created an echo-like effect.
"Roar!"
"Howl!"
The Vast Dragon Gods grew alert at once.
Fear spread through their hearts.
Though they were stupid and acted like beasts driven by instinct rather than deities, this meant they sensed danger instinctively.
Now, their instincts told them a truly terrifying foe lurked behind that deep roar!
"Roar!"
They roared as they bunched together, trying to face the enemy.
"Roar—!"
The largest one stood at the front, roaring and challenging.
He kept provoking toward the direction the sound came from!
But he picked the wrong way.
"Thud… thud… thud…"
Heavy footsteps sounded from the side of the Vast Dragon Gods.
"Roar!?"
The largest one finally reacted.
He tilted his head, only to meet gaping crimson jaws!
"Splurch—!"
Blood sprayed wildly!
Driven by tremendous momentum and crushing bite force, the conical teeth easily pierced the Vast Dragon God’s Divine Body armor, plunging deep into flesh!
"Riiip—!"
The massive head whipped violently!
A huge chunk of flesh tore from the Vast Dragon God’s neck, trailing ragged tracheal tissue.
"Thud…"
The massive Divine Body crashed onto the Primal Mud.
Blood spread like a lake.
His demise came so abruptly that the armored Vast Dragon God showed more shock than fear in his eyes.
His companions, however, told a different tale!
"Rroar!"
"Grooan—!"
They wailed and trembled, edging backward.
"Thud…"
The massive demon god stepped over the fallen deity’s corpse, advancing toward them.
Silent. Still.
Yet bloodstained fangs and a brutal gaze declared her intentions plainly.
Finally…
"Screech!"
At last, one Vast Dragon God at the rear broke. He howled and fled.
The domino effect began!
"Yelp!"
"Whimper…"
Following their companion, the Vast Dragon Gods scattered, refusing to face the terrifying demon god!
"Haaah…"
The demon god exhaled in relief.
She admired her formidable yet elegant Divine Body, utterly awestruck.
"This… is the Giant God’s transformative power!?"
"You foresaw Barbatos’s move and sent me this gift just in time?"
"My thanks…"
Demon god Xidi once saw the Giant God as her nemesis. Now, her feelings had transformed utterly.
Gratitude. Reverence. Anticipation.
And something else… something indescribable…
"Wheeze—!"
"Hsss—!"
She inhaled deeply, feeling Void Energy and magic flood her veins with raw power.
"Incredible… urk…"
"Huum…"
Ravenous hunger seized the demon god.
Xidi cast aside grace and dignity. As her maw descended, the coppery sweetness of flesh bloomed on her tongue.
"Blood for the Giant God!"
"Flesh offering for the feast!"
