Chapter 41: Do You Dare to Drug Me!
If that punch lands, even with Yi Qianmo’s Chaotic Sword Body, death would be inevitable. A demonic cultivator at the Foundation Establishment Stage is a monstrous force, far beyond the capabilities of ordinary cultivators.
Yet, the punch stopped mere inches from Yi Qianmo’s abdomen. He could feel the oppressive blood curse brushing against his face.
“How did you know my spiritual power is out of balance?” the man in black demanded coldly.
After coughing a few times, Yi Qianmo straightened and replied, “Let’s continue this discussion inside. This is not the place.”
The man in black hesitated for a moment before striding into the secret room.
Inside the dimly lit chamber, Yi Qianmo and the man in black sat facing each other.
“Speak,” the man in black said icily. “If you dare deceive me, I’ll destroy you first and then your entire family!”
At that moment, Yi Qianmo recognized his opponent as the master of the Roaring Bear Valley cave. The tricks he had left behind must have been discovered, which explained the fury radiating from this demonic cultivator.
Still, Yi Qianmo was unfazed. He chuckled lightly. “Why so impatient? You storm into my home, yet you don’t even introduce yourself.”
“Don’t play games with me!” the man growled. “Speak, or I’ll force the truth out of you.”
“Go ahead and try!” Yi Qianmo retorted, his voice cold and fearless. Despite his precarious position, his eyes burned with defiance.
Generations of ancestral memories coursed through him, providing both wisdom and courage. Although he lacked the full power of his ancestors, those memories made him formidable even against this seasoned opponent.
The man in black hesitated. Despite his bravado, Yi Qianmo’s calm demeanor planted a seed of doubt.
“Zhou Lanting,” the man in black finally revealed, though his tone was laced with reluctance.
“A woman?” Yi Qianmo raised an eyebrow, genuinely surprised.
“You’re the woman!” Zhou Lanting snapped, his voice rising in anger.
“Oh, so you’re a man?” Yi Qianmo quipped, his surprise growing.
“If you keep mocking my name, I’ll kill you on the spot!” Zhou Lanting snarled.
“Alright, alright,” Yi Qianmo said, raising his hands in mock surrender. “Let’s get back to business.”
Clearing his throat, Yi Qianmo began, “I added a special ingredient to your Pill Furnace.”
“You poisoned me?!” Zhou Lanting roared, his spiritual energy surging.
“Calm down. It wasn’t poison,” Yi Qianmo replied, a faint smile on his lips. “I added a spiritual herb that won’t alter the pill’s properties but will destabilize the spiritual power of anyone who consumes it. If left unchecked, it can lead to Qi deviation.”
Zhou Lanting’s expression darkened.
“I knew that after discovering someone had entered your cave, you’d consume the Foundation Establishment Pill in haste to prepare for any threats,” Yi Qianmo continued. “But you didn’t anticipate that the intruder would be weaker than you.”
“Hand over the solution!” Zhou Lanting demanded, blood curse energy crackling around him.
“Don’t be rash,” Yi Qianmo said calmly. “If you kill me, you’ll truly suffer Qi deviation.”
Zhou Lanting’s murderous aura lingered, but he restrained himself. “I have a thousand ways to make you talk,” he warned.
“I don’t doubt that,” Yi Qianmo said, his tone unwavering. “But I didn’t do this out of malice. If I wanted to harm you, I could’ve used a faster-acting method. Instead, I left a failsafe—just in case.”
Zhou Lanting scowled. “You’re just a small nobody in Green Cloud City. What makes you think you can challenge me?”
“Yet this small nobody infiltrated your cave, destabilized your power, and nearly caused Qi deviation,” Yi Qianmo countered, his gaze sharp.
Zhou Lanting’s body tensed. He had underestimated this young man, and the realization unsettled him.
“How do you know so much about pharmacology?” Zhou Lanting asked, his tone softer but still suspicious.
“It’s a family tradition,” Yi Qianmo replied nonchalantly.
“Family tradition?” Zhou Lanting echoed, his skepticism evident.
Ignoring the doubt, Yi Qianmo continued, “Surely you’ve heard the rumors outside. In just half a month, I went from being a nobody to being hailed as a celestial being. Why? Because of my unique knowledge and skills.”
Zhou Lanting’s eyes narrowed. “You’re lying. It’s because you stole my Qi Nourishing Pill!”
“That’s one reason,” Yi Qianmo admitted, smiling sheepishly. “But it’s also why Su Muyu chose me as her teacher.”
“Su Muyu?” Zhou Lanting’s expression shifted. “You mean Su Muyu, King Yan’s sister from Tianyuan Academy?”
“Exactly. She’s currently in my home,” Yi Qianmo said with a smug grin.
Zhou Lanting stared at him, the confusion in his eyes growing.
“So, what do you want?” Zhou Lanting finally asked.
“Come with me to Green Dragon Mountain,” Yi Qianmo said. “I’ll help you stabilize your spiritual power.”
“Green Dragon Mountain?” Zhou Lanting repeated, his tone laced with suspicion. “That place is crawling with righteous cultivators. You plan to use them, don’t you?”
“No,” Yi Qianmo replied, his voice resolute. “I’m going to fight them—if they dare meddle in my affairs.”
