Chapter 104: Yi Qianmo’s Cave
Xu Shiping welcomed Deacon Wang with utmost respect, offering him the main seat while he sat deferentially to the side. Though Xu Shiping was the sect master of Tao School, he dared not show any disrespect toward Deacon Wang, a trusted confidant of Minister Professor Zhou.
Deacon Wang, unfazed by Xu Shiping’s politeness, settled comfortably in the main seat, his demeanor exuding an air of superiority.
“Deacon Wang, what brings you to Tao School? If there’s something you require, a message would have sufficed, and I would have come to you personally,” Xu Shiping said with a humble tone.
Deacon Wang responded with a slight smirk. “I’m not here for you. Minister Professor Zhou has a message for you.”
Hearing this, Xu Shiping’s expression brightened with anticipation. “May I ask what Minister Professor Zhou’s orders are?”
Deacon Wang raised his chin slightly, his voice laced with authority. “Minister Professor Zhou says that tomorrow, you may knock on Yi Qianmo’s door, but if a single hair on his head is harmed, Minister Professor Zhou will personally skin you alive.”
Xu Shiping froze, momentarily stunned by the words. He struggled to process their meaning. “Deacon Wang, could you clarify what Minister Professor Zhou means by this?”
“What’s unclear?” Deacon Wang said impatiently. “He’s protecting Yi Qianmo. It’s as simple as that. I don’t know why Minister Professor Zhou has taken a liking to that brat, but that’s the message.”
Xu Shiping’s heart sank. While he understood the warning, he couldn’t fathom why the illustrious Minister Professor Zhou would extend such protection to Yi Qianmo. He recalled Yi Qianmo’s visit to Pill Pavilion prior to arriving at Tao School. Could it be that Yi Qianmo had somehow managed to win Minister Professor Zhou’s favor? Yet, this seemed implausible. Minister Professor Zhou despised flatterers, and Yi Qianmo’s reputation as an opportunist relying on women hardly aligned with someone worthy of such regard.
Conflicted, Xu Shiping asked cautiously, “Deacon Wang, is there truly no room for negotiation in this matter?”
Deacon Wang shot him a withering glance. “Minister Professor Zhou has a hundred ways to ensure you’re no longer sect master if you defy his wishes. If you value your position, you’ll comply.”
With that, Deacon Wang turned and strode out, leaving Xu Shiping standing in the chill of the morning wind, his mind racing.
Unaware of the unfolding drama, Yi Qianmo immersed himself in cultivating within his newly assigned cave. The richness of the spirit Qi here was extraordinary, allowing him to recover his spiritual energy in a fraction of the time it would normally take.
Sitting cross-legged, he allowed the abundant spirit Qi to flow into his body, activating his Sword Pill and refining his body further. Wave after wave of sword energy coursed through him, widening his meridians and enhancing his dantian. His body grew stronger, and his reserves of spiritual power expanded far beyond that of an average cultivator.
By the time the spirit Qi in the cave was depleted, Yi Qianmo had reached the peak of the sixth level of the Qi Refining Stage. Yet, instead of rushing to break through, he focused on stabilizing his foundation.
“The spirit Qi in this cave is enough to sustain me for about three hours of intense cultivation,” Yi Qianmo murmured, mildly dissatisfied. “I wonder how long it will take to replenish completely.”
What he didn’t realize was that his cultivation efficiency was unprecedented. For most cultivators, the spirit Qi in this cave would last weeks, not hours.
As dawn approached, Yi Qianmo turned his attention to the Yandang Formula, a cultivation technique unique to Tao School. Though he had initially dismissed it, he quickly discovered its remarkable property of compressing spiritual power.
By compressing his spiritual
power, the quality of his
reserves improved
significantly, allowing him to
store even greater amounts of
energy. With his sword body’s
unique capabilities, he
mastered six levels of the
Yandang Formula in a single
session, further widening the
gap between himself and his
peers.
“No wonder Tao School
disciples are so powerful. With
the Yandang Formula, they
can strengthen their
foundation and dominate their
realm. If the basic Yandang
Formula is this impressive, I
can’t imagine the potential of
the advanced Great Yandang
Formula,” Yi Qianmo mused,
his respect for the technique
growing.
The following morning, Yi
Qianmo emerged from his
cave, invigorated and
brimming with spiritual energy.
His first order of business was
to rename the cave. Removing
the previous name, “Ling Tian
Cave,” he replaced it with his
own, boldly declaring it “Yi
Qianmo’s Cave.”
Afterward, he returned inside,
casually enjoying the leftover
food stored by the cave’s
former occupant, Long Fei,
completely unaware of the
storm brewing around him.
