Chapter 296
After Xerath heard it, her arms, which were already spread out on the bed, quickly came together. She put one arm around Sylas’s waist and the other hand clasped her shoulder blade.
"This way, you won’t burst."
"Xerath… Xerath… Is this true? Oh…!"
Suddenly, Xerath bit her shoulder and said, "Absolutely true, I am your teacher, Elemental Archmage Xerath. I love you, I promise it’s true."
"I thought… I thought…" Sylas’s voice suddenly sounded choked up, "I thought I would never hear from you…"
"I also thought…" Xerath chuckled softly, "I also thought I would never tell you how much I love you."
Sylas stopped crying and smiled, her eyes sparkling. "Why did you change your mind later?"
Xerath widened her eyes. "Because you blew up your own mage tower because I didn’t like you, and now you’re asking why I changed my mind?"
Sylas paused. "Oh? Was it me who said I liked you first?"
"Don’t play dumb."
"So, when you came to Lake Yongning, it was actually…"
Xerath quickly interrupted her and said, "I just came to see you, just to take a look."
"Really? I… I just spent the whole afternoon sitting with you, doing nothing. I took you for a walk, held your hand, hugged you, and slept in the same room with you. It drove me crazy. You were so close to me, but I couldn’t… I couldn’t touch you."
Xerath laughed, "It sounds like I’ve been shamelessly seducing you."
Sylas panicked and hurriedly denied, "No, that’s not what I meant…"
Xerath interrupted her, "I… I’m going crazy too, you know…"
She started a sentence but didn’t continue. Sylas urged, "What do you know?"
Xerath hid her face in Sylas’s chest again, "I was actually about to kiss you back then, but you pushed me away."
Sylas was surprised for a moment and asked her, "So you were the one who almost spoke first?"
"Too bad you lost, my little wild beast. Sleep now." Xerath reached out to cover Sylas’s eyes and fell into a dream with a victorious smile.
She had not slept so well for half a year. She didn’t dream, slept until she woke naturally, feeling refreshed and full of energy. When she opened her eyes, she saw Sylas’s profile. Sylas had one arm exposed, and there were kiss marks on the inside of her arm from Sylas’s forceful kisses.
Just feeling the solid presence of Sylas in her arms, Xerath couldn’t help but want to wake her up and kiss her again. But suddenly, a puddle of water flowed in through the crack under the door. The water rippled, lifting a head. Hyectra’s head silently asked her with her eyes. After that, her entire massive body squeezed in through the door crack.
It walked to the bedside and asked softly, "Madam, would you like to get up for a meal?"
Xerath smiled and waved her hand.
Sylas suddenly woke up. Her first action was to call out for Leunen outside the door, but when she opened her eyes, she found Hyectra in front of her instead. So she propped herself up, rubbing her sleepy eyes, and asked, "Hyectra, why are you here? Is there something wrong with Xerath?"
Hyectra stood awkwardly in place, seeking Xerath’s help with her eyes. Xerath pulled up the slipping blanket to cover her naked upper body and gently pressed her back onto the bed.
When a mage is asleep, they usually cannot sustain the power of the Water Lord to maintain its size in the mortal realm. Sylas, in her drowsiness, completely ignored this fact and mistakenly thought that her magic had summoned another uninvited butler.
"Hyectra, did Hubert make breakfast?"
The water sphere butler replied very respectfully, "I will have it make breakfast. Please wait a moment."
Sylas woke up and realized what had happened. Now, she was hiding under the blanket, pretending to be asleep. After Hyectra left, she opened her eyes and said, "Xerath…"
Xerath crawled into the blanket and continued to hug her. He casually asked, "What’s wrong?"
"Hyectra saw…"
"It can’t speak."
Leunen was waiting outside the door. When Hyectra came out, it lowered its voice and tried to sound casual, "Are both of you sleeping well?"
Hyectra slightly lowered its head and saw a puddle of water flowing beneath its feet. It used its body to stop the water from flowing. "Leunen, I saw something."
"Oh, please don’t step on my eyes."
"Aren’t you surprised?"
Leunen said angrily, "Why should I be surprised? Don’t treat me like a child. I know a lot about the human world too."
"For example?"
Leunen opened his hands and said, "For example, it’s considered inappropriate to fall in love with your own teacher. But it’s obvious that my owner succeeded in doing so, finally."
Hyectra looked understanding and said, "It is said that students and teachers are somewhat similar. Sylas and Xerath are similar in the sense that they both suffer and miss each other while being mistreated at home."
It whispered secretly, "What does Sylas say at home? Has she ever said something like ‘I should have kept her here’?"
"Oh, of course not. She only says, ‘Oh my, she doesn’t want me anymore, she kicked me out. She must have found out something, what did I do wrong?’ Does Xerath say things like that at home? Oh, Great Master Akuiang! How could she say this!? Sylas is her student! It’s not right in human society. But well, my little owner can’t help but like me, so I had no choice but to become an accomplice without principles…"
Ignoring Leunen’s ramblings, Hyectra opened its thick palm and summarized, "Anyway, she said it all."
"In short, they finally ended up on the same bed. Great! I finally don’t have to endure it alone…" Leunen’s ramblings were getting worse and worse. As the water elemental and a mage’s butler, it couldn’t reveal any of the owner’s secrets, but it could share them with someone who knew. Now Leunen and Hyectra could finally confide in each other.
Hyectra comforted, with its arm around Leunen’s shoulder, "I understand, I really do."
Just a door apart, in a beam of sunlight, Sylas stared at Xerath, unable to resist asking, "Is there something on my face?"
Sylas turned her face away and said, "No… it’s nothing… I just, I just like watching."
Sylas stopped looking at Xerath, but Xerath didn’t feel regret for the first time. She leaned against Sylas, her arm curling like a searching snake, finding its way up to Sylas’s chest from under the blanket. Sylas’s face gradually stiffened as she had expected, but she didn’t stop her. She gasped, swallowed, and finally looked at Xerath again, pleading with her eyes for her lover not to tease her anymore.
Xerath smiled happily and said, "I think it likes me."

"Do you like it?" Xerath narrowed her strange gray eyes and looked closely at Sylas. Sylas’s gasps couldn’t escape from Xerath’s ears and eyes. Xerath leaned closer to her and asked, "Do you like it?"
Sylas nodded absentmindedly, accepting Xerath’s kisses and caresses without hesitation.
It’s more like she didn’t understand what was happening.
Xerath rubbed against her contentedly and finally asked her, "So, this is…"
The last words she said were not common. Sylas thought for a moment, then realized she was talking about "bed curtains".
"You don’t know?!"
"Why should I know?"
Sylas stuttered a bit, "Because, because… there are things you don’t know?"
Xerath laughed again, "Am I all-knowing in your mind?"
"Almost…" Sylas blushed, "I once thought…"
Xerath had a strong feeling that this would be a lot of fun and urged, "Thought about what? Tell me…"
"It’s nothing."
Tell me, I want to know what you’re thinking.
"Ah…please hold on for a moment…I can’t think right now…"
"Okay," Xerath returned to the previous position, lying on Sylas, with her nose against Sylas’s jaw, occasionally sniffing, "Can I speak now?"
"I…I used to think, at night, would you come into my room, use magic to imprison me, and command me to obey you, and then take…take…"
She couldn’t continue, her face turning as red as a ripe apple.
Xerath spoke for her, "Take away your innocence?"
Sylas nodded gently.
"It sounds like something an evil sorcerer would do…how exactly would they do it?"
"It’s similar to last night…"
"Really?" Xerath couldn’t help but laugh, "You also…in your imagination, would you also kiss me?"
"Yes."
"Will you touch me?"
Sylas smiled gently and said, "Yes, secretly."
"And then? What happened?"
"And then I fell asleep, never fully imagining the plot."
Xerath burst into laughter, and Sylas finally exploded. She rolled over and pressed her down, pecking at her lips. Xerath laughed and tried to dodge, but Sylas held her tightly in her arms and reenacted all the mischief Xerath had done to her just now.
"Sylas, Sylas, it’s too ticklish!" Xerath finally managed to roll over and lie face down, trying to avoid Sylas’s continuous licking and biting on her chest. But Sylas still pounced on her, holding her from behind.
It felt really nice. Xerath gradually stopped struggling and enjoyed Sylas’s embrace.
A knocking sound came, and Sylas glanced at Xerath. She must know! If it’s not Leunen coming, then it must be Hyectra.
Xerath said with her eyes closed, "Come in, Hyectra."
Sylas hurriedly prepared to pull back her arm and hide under the blanket, but Xerath suddenly grabbed both of her hands. She lost her leverage and could only maintain her position of lying on Xerath’s back.
She lowered her head and pressed her face against Xerath’s back, as a final struggle.
