Chapter 294
The wind was restless in the circular hall.
"…Sylas?"
"Yes…yes," she took a deep breath and managed to utter only two words. Her nose turned red and a blush appeared around her eyes. "Please…please don’t…don’t test me anymore, okay? You bought such an expensive tower, and…and you’ve already kicked me out of Aimekotes, haven’t you?" Sylas held onto her shoulders.
Xerath’s frown deepened, looking at her with confusion. "I didn’t…"
Sylas slowly shakes her head and with sadness in her voice, says, "I would never have said it, I promise I would never have said it. Can I tell you the answer?"
The wind hums loudly in the cylindrical hall, and the celestial globe emits high-pitched cries while the stars flicker. The wind element accuses her in a hushed tone for making the beloved child so upset, and she innocently thinks, "I haven’t even started talking about the main point yet."
"Sylas…" the archmage keenly senses the fluctuations in the elements, his hands emanating a golden light, casting a wind shield around both of them.
But Sylas almost cries and suddenly says, "I… I like you, please, please don’t test me anymore!"
The elements rejoice in her outcry, instantly reaching a high level of activation.
The wind element bursts outwards inexplicably, the weakest windows pushed out, leaving irregular gaps. Suddenly, rocks explode, the stones from the tower wall shattering one by one, debris flying like shrapnel searching for targets, striking the archmage’s wind barrier and bouncing elsewhere.
The house resounds with intense noises, the few furnishings in the hall gradually being battered with countless holes.
"Wait, Sylas!" She takes a step forward, in a hurry and unexpectedly clumsily pulls Sylas into her embrace, or rather, she clings onto Sylas.
The girl’s body stiffens from this unexpected embrace, the wind calming down, but a gentle breeze continues to pass through the holes in the rocks.
"No, no, it’s not… not testing. I like you too, don’t be like this, don’t cry."
"…Ah?"
"It’s not testing, I like you too." She awkwardly hugged Sylas, but for some reason, it seemed more like she was afraid she would blow up the mage tower again.
Sylas stood there dumbfoundedly and asked again, "Really?"
"Really." Finally, she embraced this long-desired figure, craving to be filled little by little. It was as if Sylas emitted a magical power that gradually infused into her body.
However, she noticed Sylas move and immediately let go, not only backing away but also tilting her head to the side and turning her body away from Sylas. It seemed like doing this reduced the visible surface area of herself, and when she couldn’t see, she felt as if she had hidden from Sylas’s sight.
"…Your tower." She pointed out softly.
Sylas, who had inexplicably blown up her own mage tower, summoned the Earth Child to repair the tower. Xerath silently stood by her side, the atmosphere awkward and heavy with silence.
Sylas couldn’t resist anymore, so she carefully reached out to hold Xerath’s hand, but unexpectedly, Xerath turned around and clasped her hand in hers.
She just said "I like you too", did I hear it correctly?
"Teacher…"
Xerath lowered her head and softly responded, "Hmm?"
"Can I… kiss you?"
Xerath still lowered her head and calmly responded with a "Hmm", as if Sylas had just asked, "Is it okay to have carrots, peas, and steak for dinner?"
Sylas felt a surge of absurdity, and tried to pull Xerath closer to herself. Xerath obediently leaned in. She reached out and lifted Xerath’s chin, but those gray eyes didn’t look up, they remained fixated downwards.
"Teacher?"
Like countless times in the past when Sylas called out to her, Xerath instinctively stared into her eyes and instinctively asked, "What’s wrong?"
Sylas closed her eyes and leaned in. She touched those long-awaited lips, warm and soft. She lightly brushed her own lips against them, and with her eyes slightly open, she saw Xerath’s eyes constantly flickering, occasionally looking at her and realizing that she was being watched, before lowering her own gaze again.
Their lips still touched. Sylas stuck out her tongue and licked the gap between her lips. It didn’t take much effort for her to squeeze it in. She licked Xerath’s tongue and immediately tasted the sweet flavor she remembered. She delicately touched Xerath and felt her subtle response.
Just like last time, Sylas kissed her cautiously. Xerath responded sensibly. Sylas had to continue with gentle movements, afraid of scaring Xerath.
Her heart throbbed, and her blood rushed through her veins like tides, encouraging her to hold Xerath tightly and kiss her fiercely.
But… she persuaded herself in her mind that Xerath, who exuded an aura of purity, couldn’t be treated like this.
What should they do if they break it?
This kiss lasted a long time. Sylas had hoped that this deep kiss could diminish her almost uncontrollable love for Xerath, but the mysterious force seemed to intensify. She quietly released her hand from Xerath’s waist, intending to slowly move it upward, then suddenly heard someone cough.
"Ladies, if I may be frank…"
Sylas quickly placed her arms by her sides. The two of them agreed to turn—one to the left and the other to the right.
Hyectra covered her eyes with her hand, but of course, the accusing glances from the two still pierced through her almost transparent palm.
Hyectra hid behind the palm of her hand and spoke with her usual elegant words, saying, "Miss, your Earth Child has been out of control for a while now, and they have all returned to the Elemental Realm."
Darn it, I completely forgot about the elements nearby… Sylas is now too scared to look at Xerath or Hyectra. She also can’t face looking for Leunen at the moment, so she can only focus on summoning a new Earth Child.
During the short gap before the Earth Child appeared, she saw green trees shading outside, and two deer staring at her with unwavering eyes, occasionally twitching their ears.
Goodness, even the deer saw the scene where she wanted to hug Xerath but didn’t dare to reach out… Luckily, Xerath herself doesn’t know.
For the rest of the afternoon, she kept her head down and didn’t dare to look up at Xerath during dinner. She even avoided looking at Leunen and Hyectra. Two water elementals stood behind their respective owners, exchanging a helpless look.
Xerath didn’t show any reaction. Her expression remained as serious and cold as usual. If it weren’t for Sylas’s vivid memory of her soft lips, she would have thought it was all just a daydream.
This situation continued until bedtime. Xerath came out of the bathroom, still wearing a loose silk shirt, rolling up her sleeves to reveal her fair arms, giving off a casual and carefree vibe. Her hair was scattered on her white nightgown as she walked past Sylas.
So beautiful, Sylas had always been captivated by this kind of radiance, wholeheartedly thinking about this person.
And this charm, she herself might never possess… Sylas lowered her head, seemingly determined. Sylas got up and followed behind Xerath, walking together to the edge of the bed.
Xerath noticed a little tail behind her and asked, "Sylas, what’s wrong?"
Sylas met her gaze and immediately looked down, giving Xerath the perfect chance to look at her openly.
Sylas was still wearing a shirt, with the hem pulled out of her pants, and she wasn’t wearing the usual beige trousers she usually wore. Maybe she had changed them while taking a shower.
These pants were much looser compared to Sylas’s usual slender and poised appearance, making her look much cuter now.
Just like when she was younger.
She watched Sylas’s cheeks slowly turn red and couldn’t help but speak up for her, saying, "Do you want to sleep with me?"
But at the same time, Sylas said, "Can I kiss you again?"
"Oh… um…"
"Sure."
Xerath watched as Sylas reached out her hands and placed them around her waist, taking a step closer. Their breaths were getting closer, and their body heat as well. Xerath tried to slow down her breathing so her student wouldn’t notice her panting.
Can’t let her know.
Warm lips pressed against hers, delicately holding her lower lip between them. They moved slowly, testing with the tip of their tongue, gently teasing between her lips.
Too cute, wanted to devour her, in a literal sense.
But Xerath only slightly opened her mouth, allowing the young person to slip their tongue inside. She also delicately sucked on Sylas’s tongue, scraping against her rough taste buds. She knew Sylas felt ticklish because she felt it too. She wished she could consume her in one big bite, but Sylas’s cautious actions made her afraid to scare her away.
Her little wild creature released her lips, and Xerath wanted to hold the back of her head and pull her back in, but got lost in her gaze, lost in that emerald green lake.
"Can… can I continue?" Her face flushed red, but her eyes looked saddened.
Xerath asked curiously, "What’s wrong? Is there a problem?"
Sylas’s voice carried a bittersweet tone, as if it belonged in a young romance novel. "No… no need to… force it."
"What reluctantly?"
Sylas gestured, but felt too shy to say, "No need… no need to force it out… like me…"
Xerath frowned and asked, "Why do you say that? Which of my actions do you think prove that I’m forcing myself?"
"When… " she blushed and looked away, "when kissed… by you…"
"You."
"You… no response, seems like not liking it, so… " she finally raised her head, gazing directly into the eyes she longed for, "and the hug, also feels forced, you’re just afraid I’ll blow up the mage tower, so you comfort me. But no need… I said it out loud, I feel much better now."
