Chapter 123: I Am Absolutely Not a Suspicious Person

Frowning slightly, Ye Qingxuan bit her thin lips as she watched the boy diligently reading in the library.

A troubled expression appeared on her delicate face.

These past few days, she had been preparing a thesis, and for that, she needed to consult a particular book.

There were only four copies of that book in the entire library.

Three were currently checked out, and the fourth was in that boy’s hands.

If he were just casually flipping through it, she would, by her nature, calmly walk over and directly tell him that she needed to borrow the book.

But the problem that made her hesitate was that he was reading very intently.

He was even taking notes in a notebook he brought with him, making Ye Qingxuan distinctly feel that the boy also really needed that book.

This made her a bit reluctant to speak up.

What if the atmosphere suddenly became awkward?

Thus, she stared at the boy sitting there, deep in her dilemma.

As she watched, she realized he was quite handsome and not old, yet he possessed a unique aura unlike other people his age.

“Ahhhhh! What am I thinking?!”

Frustrated, Ye Qingxuan covered her slightly flushed cheeks with both hands, then her gaze darted back again.

“Speaking of which, he’s reading that book so seriously.”

“Is he from the business school?”

“But in Z City, I remember there aren’t any universities with a business school besides Z University, right?”

“So, he’s a student from Z University?”

Ye Qingxuan tilted her head slightly, pondering.

Just then, the boy, who had been engrossed in his book, suddenly lifted his head and looked at her with a strange expression.

“Is something wrong?”

“If I’m mistaken, I apologize, but you seem to have been staring at me since a while ago…”

By the end of his sentence, a peculiar look flashed across Luo Ji’s face.

He could almost swear he didn’t know this girl, who seemed like a campus beauty from some school, yet she had genuinely been staring at him for a long time, making it impossible for him to simply ignore her and read quietly.

“No, no, no, not at all!”

“I’m absolutely not a suspicious person!”

Ye Qingxuan’s face instantly turned crimson, and she stammered, causing Luo Ji to quickly make a ‘quiet’ gesture.

This was a public library.

Although it was early morning and just opened, so there weren’t many people yet, Luo Ji distinctly felt the librarian’s displeased gaze sweep over him because of her outburst.

Seeing Luo Ji’s hand gestures, Ye Qingxuan also realized her current location and quickly covered her mouth, then spoke in a hushed voice.

“Student, I just wanted to borrow that book you have.”

“The other three copies are already borrowed, and this is the only one left.”

“If, if possible…”

Her meaning was obvious. Luo Ji glanced at the book he was reading.

“You want to borrow this one?”

“Mm-hmm.”

Ye Qingxuan nodded repeatedly.

“Are you from Z University’s Business School?”

“Yes, and I’m a senior sister about to graduate with a doctorate, you know.”

As she spoke, a hint of pride clearly flashed across Ye Qingxuan’s delicate face.

She had skipped grades throughout elementary, middle, and high school with excellent grades.

If all went well, she would soon become the youngest female doctor in Z University’s Business School history.

This was indeed something to be proud of.

Even Luo Ji, who had merely asked casually, showed a hint of surprise on his face.

A prospective female doctor about to graduate from Business School?

This might unexpectedly help him solve the problem he was currently facing.

As for her calling herself a ‘senior sister,’ Luo Ji tacitly accepted it.

After all, strictly speaking, he was also a student of Z University, so her referring to herself as a senior sister to him wasn’t wrong.

“To be honest, I’m currently facing a very frustrating problem, so the content of this book is also very important to me…”

A hint of disappointment clearly flashed in Ye Qingxuan’s eyes, but she didn’t expect Luo Ji’s tone to suddenly shift mid-sentence.

“However, since senior sister is a prospective doctor, the problem I’m facing shouldn’t be difficult for you.”

“You should be able to solve it easily.”

Luo Ji’s meaning was obvious.

With Ye Qingxuan’s intellect, it was impossible for her not to understand.

However, she didn’t immediately agree, but instead asked.

“What problem are you facing? Tell me first.”

“Simply put, it’s the structure of an entire commercial system.”

Ye Qingxuan frowned slightly upon hearing this.

“That’s too broad. Be more specific. Which part of the commercial system?”

“The entire commercial system.”

Luo Ji said, gesturing with a wry smile.

“A whole system from having no concept of commerce, to establishing a commercial concept, and then to perfecting a commercial concept.”

“Are you serious?”

Ye Qingxuan’s brows furrowed even more.

She stared directly at the boy sitting across from her, as if confirming whether he was playing a trick on her.

Given the current commercial development of society, a commercial system already existed and was even ubiquitous.

Why would anyone need to worry about that?

At this moment, even Ye Qingxuan, who claimed to be close to graduating with a doctorate, felt somewhat stumped, or rather, the scope was too broad to even begin.

Yet, the boy in front of her looked utterly serious, with no hint of joking.

“I really need this.”

“Of course, it doesn’t have to be too detailed, just a rough framework would be fine.”

As he said this, Luo Ji’s face was filled with sincerity. He was almost driven mad by this commercial system.

He needed a professional to give him a development framework.

Once he had the framework, he could gradually refine the details himself.

After confirming that her junior fellow student was not joking, Ye Qingxuan pondered for a moment, then spoke again.

“Even I can’t immediately lay out the framework of an entire commercial system for you right now…”

“You don’t need to list it immediately, just as soon as possible.”

As he spoke, Luo Ji closed the book in his hand and pushed it towards Ye Qingxuan.

“Then… alright…”

She picked up the book pushed towards her.

Perhaps infected by his earnestness, she finally agreed to this troublesome task.

And thinking about it carefully, it might even be quite interesting.

She didn’t dislike challenging difficult things.

Luo Ji’s face lit up with joy.

He quickly wrote down an email address in his notebook, then tore it off and handed it to Ye Qingxuan.

“This is my email address.”

“Senior sister, please send it directly there.”

“Oh, by the way, what’s your name, senior sister?”

To only remember to ask for her name now, Ye Qingxuan rolled her eyes exasperatedly.

“My name is Ye Qingxuan, junior brother.”

“I’m Luo Ji. Then I’ll leave this matter to you, senior sister.”
