Chapter 34: The Venomous Female Officer
The female officer had never appreciated the value of air so much until now.
However, before she could catch her breath, a devilish voice echoed in her ears.
He was after General Duville?
The female officer looked up at Gu Ran, tears from her earlier suffocation smearing her eyeliner.
Her once fair skin had turned crimson, and combined with her carefully maintained beauty, she now looked frail and pitiful—a sight that could easily evoke the sympathy of men inclined to pity.
She was well aware of how to use her beauty to her advantage. Though briefly surprised that her captor was a young man, she remembered that young men, full of hormones, were often most drawn to women. This could work to her favor.
“General… Duville? I don’t really know…” she murmured as if short of breath, unbuttoning her military jacket to reveal a pale expanse of skin.
“Little brother, aren’t you here for me?”
She lay weakly on the ground in a seductive pose, as though inviting him to do whatever he pleased.
At this moment, she seemed like a completely different person from the cold, heartless officer who had just whipped those helpless youths.
A flicker of disgust flashed in Gu Ran’s eyes as he coldly said, “It seems you didn’t listen to a word I said earlier.”
“Perhaps you really enjoyed that suffocating feeling and want to experience it again.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the space around the female officer thickened once more, and that familiar, agonizing shortness of breath returned.
For the first time, true fear appeared in the woman’s eyes. She no longer dared to underestimate this boy, but the thickening space and thinning air rendered her unable to speak.
Before long, her eyes rolled back, and her consciousness began to fade.
Just before she lost consciousness, the pressure lifted, and air rushed back into her lungs.
Gu Ran crouched beside her and reached for the small pouch hanging from her military belt, taking out a syringe filled with an unknown liquid. The liquid inside was a translucent light green, looking almost beautiful in its clarity.
Gu Ran gave her a thoughtful glance before injecting the contents into her body.
The female officer, who had barely caught her breath, was terrified by his actions. “No, no, please don’t!” she begged.
The syringe contained a beautiful but deadly toxin. General Duville, with his unique physical constitution due to his powers, found ordinary pleasures insufficient.
So the female officer had devised a game, pretending to be an assassin sent to kill him. After being caught, he would be so captivated by her beauty that the game would unfold from there.
The toxin in the syringe was a neurotoxin. For an ordinary person, it would be lethal, with a 100% chance of death. But for someone like General Duville, with his special abilities, it was merely a tool to heighten the thrill of their dangerous games, making them more exciting.
The female officer had intended to seduce Gu Ran and, when his guard was down, inject him with the poison. At that moment, the situation would reverse, and not only would she escape, but she’d also kill this space-wielding intruder—earning her a major commendation.
But now, the very poison she had planned to use on Gu Ran was coursing through her own veins, filling her with terror.
“It seems this is a rather nasty substance. If you don’t want to die, you’d better take me to General Duville. Otherwise, when time runs out, you won’t have anyone to blame but yourself,” Gu Ran said coldly.
With a sharp crack, he tossed the syringe to the ground, shattering it into pieces.
The female officer trembled, tears streaming down her face as she stammered, “I know, I know. The General is in his office. I can take you there!”
Though the toxin was deadly, there was an antidote—and only General Duville had it.
“That’s too much of a hassle. Just tell me which room in which section he’s in,” Gu Ran said, glancing at the now panicked and trembling woman.
“You wouldn’t want to be dead by the time I find him, would you?”
Faced with her own mortality, the female officer no longer dared to delay and quickly revealed the exact location of General Duville’s office.
The General had been waiting for her to deliver the group of young boys and girls, so he would definitely be in his office at the moment.
Her fear of the General’s potential wrath for betraying him paled in comparison to the terror of the neurotoxin now flowing through her system. She had seen firsthand how horrible its effects could be, having administered it herself to clueless boys and girls chosen for General Duville’s cruel games.
The toxin would slowly destroy a person’s nervous system, causing unbearable pain as they lost control of their body. It was an agonizing death.
In the past, she used it to please General Duville, but she didn’t expect it to be used on herself now.
In the central area of the E District Legion Headquarters, inside the General’s office, a massive man over two meters tall lounged lazily in his chair, bored as he awaited the arrival of his beauties.
Suddenly, a spatial portal opened in the middle of the room.
A young man stepped out from the portal, followed by the female officer, who was now barely able to control her own body.
She stumbled toward a hidden safe, hurriedly input a code, and grabbed a syringe from inside before injecting its contents into herself.
