Chapter 10: This Way She Would Have A Good Brother
Although Gu Ran had suddenly gained powerful strength, he still carefully avoided the main roads and took the alleyways on his way home.
Gu Ran returned to his residence safely. Once home, his body finally relaxed, and he began to check his injuries.
“The wounds from the sticks have all scabbed over, and the broken bones have healed. Are Ability Users really this powerful?” Gu Ran murmured to himself.
…
Outside the light screen.
“A normal Ability User shouldn’t have such strong healing capabilities, right?” a martial arts expert asked with confusion.
“Normal Ability Users don’t have such powerful healing abilities, let alone the ability to activate their ability cores. And he just awakened his ability,” replied someone, their tone filled with jealousy.
Though they knew the Tyrant was incredibly talented, this was just too much.
“This level of healing capability must be on par with a B-level Ability User already.”
…
After checking his body and confirming that there were no hidden injuries, Gu Ran felt relieved.
“Nothing gained today, so we’ll have to make do with an empty stomach for now.” Gu Ran gently touched the baby girl’s cheek. “Don’t worry, I’ll spend today getting familiar with this ability, and tomorrow I’ll make sure to bring you something delicious. I’ll buy you the most expensive formula.”
Previously, he had been worried about how to afford the baby’s formula.
Picking up trash barely allowed him to feed himself, with little to no surplus. The two pieces of bread he had earlier were all he had left.
He had planned to cut back on his food to save money for the baby’s formula, but now that was unnecessary.
“For an Ability User, the most important thing is to become familiar with, train, and master their ability core,” Gu Ran recalled the knowledge he had read from an old book he found.
The ability core was like a special organ to Ability Users. When it emerged in the body, one would naturally feel a connection to it.
Gu Ran sat down, silent, seemingly deep in thought.
Suddenly, a small spatial rift appeared in front of him.
The spatial rift slowly expanded and then contracted again.
The rift pulsed rhythmically, like breathing.
Then, Gu Ran pointed lightly at an empty glass bottle in front of him.
The neck of the empty bottle was smoothly sliced open.
“This doesn’t seem that difficult,” Gu Ran said, waving his hand. Several more objects in front of him met the same fate.
…
Outside the light screen, the Ability Users were already numb.
“Doesn’t seem that difficult?”
What the hell are you talking about?
Is this level of control over an ability really something a newly awakened Ability User can have?
Many Ability Users recalled the arduous practice they endured after first awakening, the joy they felt after years of slowly mastering their abilities, and compared it with Gu Ran’s casual comment of “doesn’t seem that difficult,” leaving them feeling like crying but without tears.
“Has the Tyrant already broken the record for the fastest mastery of an ability?” someone suddenly realized, shocked.
“Indeed. The human record for mastering an ability from awakening was set at seven months, and at the time, it shocked the entire Human Alliance,” someone answered.
“Then… how long did it take the Tyrant?”
“Less than a day, no, just a few hours.”
Hiss—
This can’t even be described as terrifying; it’s unprecedented, and there may never be another like him.
“Who was that genius who took seven months to master their ability? Isn’t it possible that some people are just more talented in the beginning but fall short later? We all know how hard it is for Ability Users to break into A or S level,” someone asked, still holding onto a sliver of hope.
“That person is my teacher,” Gu Qingqing said softly. “She became an S-level Ability User at the age of twenty.”
“And one thing you all know as well, my teacher’s ability is also spatial. She took me as her student because I also awakened spatial abilities, and I was the only one she had found with spatial abilities in so many years.”
But what Gu Qingqing didn’t expect was that Gu Ran was also a genius with spatial abilities, and by the looks of it, even more talented than her teacher.
Why had her teacher never mentioned this?
Could it be that when her teacher met them, her brother had already lost his spatial ability core?
If he hadn’t lost his spatial ability core, her teacher would surely have taken him as a student, right?
That way, he could have received a proper education, and they could have stayed together as siblings. He wouldn’t have taken the wrong path later on.
Then she would have had a caring, loving older brother, wouldn’t she?
…
In the light screen, Gu Ran, like someone who had just discovered a new toy, was enthusiastically exploring his ability.
A sudden cry made Gu Ran stop.
“Oh, don’t cry, don’t cry, you must be hungry,” Gu Ran hurriedly took out the last half of his bread, wetted it with water, and fed it to the baby.
But to Gu Ran’s surprise, the baby refused to eat the bread.
“Strange, aren’t you hungry?” Gu Ran tried a few more times, but the baby still refused.
Completely inexperienced in taking care of a baby, Gu Ran was at a loss.
“What do you want then? I wish you could talk.”
Then Gu Ran suddenly caught a whiff of urine. He quickly unwrapped the cloth and saw that the baby had indeed wet herself.
“Sigh, so you needed to pee,” Gu Ran sighed, half-amused, as he took a piece of clothing from his makeshift wardrobe, tore it up, and fashioned a simple diaper.
Although the people outside the light screen couldn’t see the baby’s exact situation, they understood what had happened based on Gu Ran’s muttering and his actions of making a diaper.
…
“Who would have thought that the Supreme Leader of the Human Alliance, the Tyrant himself, would one day be making diapers for a baby? Hahahaha, that’s too funny.”
However, some of the female ability users felt a surge of maternal instinct, and couldn’t help but feel a little sympathy for Gu Ran in the light screen.
“It’s really not easy. He’s still so young himself, yet he has to take care of such a small baby. He’s so mature. If he had grown up normally, he would have definitely become a good husband and father.”
Lin Fan saw that something was wrong with the situation. Why did he suddenly arouse the sympathy of so many female ability users?
He quickly said, “This was just the Tyrant’s childhood. We all know that he later took the wrong path. No matter how kind he might have been as a child, it doesn’t erase the sins he committed later.”
“Besides, the Tyrant gained such powerful strength so suddenly, and he was very poor at the time. It’s likely that this was the moment his rationality was overwhelmed, leading him down the wrong path.”
