Chapter 61: One Hundred and One Times

As Zhang Yang released Bing Yuyan, he raised his right fist upward.

Bang!

He struck the falling top layer again, sending it crashing upward once more.

At that moment, he finally sighed in relief.

Bing Yuyan, however, wore a flawless, beautiful face that flickered between shades of green and white, she could hardly bear it.

This man, who had taken advantage of her, was actually saving her.

The problem was that she had punched him.

And now, to save her, he had been injured by the Demon Sword.

For the proud, arrogant Bing Yuyan, who always held her status and abilities above others, this left her feeling ashamed, anxious, and flustered, unsure of what to say.

But as soon as Zhang Yang opened his mouth, she reacted like a cat whose tail had been stepped on.

“Burden!”

With just those two words, Bing Yuyan nearly lost her composure and lashed out.

In the end, she gritted her teeth, silently telling herself that since he had saved her, she would spare his life. She quickly tended to Zhang Yang’s wounds, which only served to calm Zhang Yang, who had been on the verge of fury from blood loss, allowing him to utter those words.

Zhang Yang’s raging killing intent subsided, though his gaze remained fixed on the snowflake Demon Sword.

Back at the Diamond Temple, he had personally experienced the terrifying methods of the Demon Sword Forbidden Area.

The difference now was that once the snowflake Demon Sword struck, it vanished without retaliating.

Instead, the snowflakes on the palace wall remained as white and clear as jade, yet Zhang Yang knew that beneath that surface purity lay insidious and vicious killing moves.

“Didn’t you sense the danger?”

“Will you always only realize things in hindsight?”

“Didn’t you know the two major forbidden areas were on the offensive? Even if they couldn’t break through the hiding place of your treasured items, wouldn’t they at least leave behind some forbidden laws?”

He bombarded her with three questions, causing Bing Yuyan to breathe heavily, a swirl of agitation boiling within her.

“Why are you just pointing fingers at me? Didn’t you think of it too?” Bing Yuyan couldn’t take it anymore.

Zhang Yang smirked. “Who saved you?”

Bing Yuyan’s stunning red lips parted, but no words came out.

“Without me, you would have died twice already,” Zhang Yang stated.

Bing Yuyan huffed, sulking in silence.

Zhang Yang focused on the palace wall and directly summoned the Eight Divine Powers.

Golden light surged, lightning crackled, and flames raged.

The Critical Hit from the thunder and fire erupted.

He didn’t even need to lift a finger; the combined force of the two powers shook the palace wall violently, and at the center of the snowflakes, a Demon Sword seemed to form once more.

Zhang Yang threw a punch at it.

Bang!

The Demon Sword shattered, cracks appearing in the snowflake patterns, while the palace wall split further.

He followed up with two more punches.

Bang! Bang!

The snowflake patterns exploded.

The palace wall burst open.

As stones fell from above like swords, he shouted, “Get inside now!”

Bing Yuyan, as if waking from a dream, secretly called him a monster and rushed inside.

Zhang Yang followed closely behind.

Behind the palace wall lay a passage that extended downward.

“Let’s go,” Zhang Yang said, stepping forward.

His demeanor remained calm, without the slightest ripple.

Bing Yuyan felt a bit displeased. What did this mean—was he completely disappointed in her? Pah! She was in the Great Boundless Realm, aiming for sainthood—why should she care about the attitude of an ant?

“Hey! Slow down!”

Still, prideful as she was, she hurried to keep up with Zhang Yang.

The passage was deep and dark.

After walking for over twenty meters, Zhang Yang stopped; he sensed danger.

Upon closer inspection, he noticed dark intent swirling on the walls of the passage, somewhat similar to what had been outside earlier, only now tinged with a sharper edge.

Zhang Yang took a deep breath and continued forward.

Two steps in, a black Demon Sword shot out from the dark wall.

Zhang Yang raised his hand and broke it with a punch.

The Demon Sword fell to the ground and dissipated, leaving lingering Demon Intent behind.

“The Demon Sword Forbidden Area is truly vicious,” Bing Yuyan said, her beautiful eyes flashing with fierceness.

Zhang Yang replied, “It is indeed vicious. Do you have a way to deal with it?”

Bing Yuyan fell silent.

If not for the restrictions of the Great Dao Immortal Sealing Technique from the Vast Forest, she wouldn’t have felt any fear.

But faced with this kind of immortal power, she felt quite wary. The forbidden laws enacted by the Demon Sword Forbidden Area and the Ghostly Divine Platform had been specifically designed to counter their Ice and Snow Divine Palace, creating a significant restraint. Coupled with the limitations on her realm, many secret techniques were difficult to use, leaving her unsure.

However…

Seeing the look in Zhang Yang’s eyes, Bing Yuyan could not control her inner agitation once more.

What kind of look was that? Contempt? Mockery? Disdain?

Her pride couldn’t take it, and she stubbornly declared, “You don’t need to look at me like that. After you saved me a few times, once we leave the Vast Forest, I’ll save you a few times in return.”

“You said it,” Zhang Yang replied.

“Whatever the palace master says, I will do,” Bing Yuyan stated coldly.

“Good.”

Zhang Yang quickly moved forward.

Black Demon Swords shot out one after another.

He swung his fist.

The first Demon Sword shattered.

“Once, plus the two from before, that makes three,” he said lightly.

Then he punched and exploded the second Demon Sword.

“Four.”

He broke another sword.

“Five.”

He moved swiftly as the attacks from the black Demon Swords in the passage became more intense.

The only sounds echoing through the passage were his punches, shattered swords, and his roars.

Bang! Bang! Bang…

“Six, seven, eight… twenty… thirty… fifty… fifty-one.”

He blasted fifty-seven black Demon Swords in one go, leaving the ground filled with lingering Demon Intent, which he quickly dispelled with a wave of Baxiang Divine Fire and lightning.

Bing Yuyan clenched her teeth at the mention of the fifty-one times he had saved her. It enraged her. Fifty-one times saving her life?

Zhang Yang noticed and asked, “Do you think that’s unfair? Well then, give it a try.”

Bing Yuyan felt she was on the verge of losing control and hitting this man; he was being far too irritating, intentionally provoking her. If they weren’t in this place, she would have definitely taught him a lesson.

She gritted her teeth and ignored him.

Zhang Yang shrugged and said, “If you approve, then that’s good.”

He moved forward again.

Bang! Bang! Bang…

“Fifty-two, fifty-three… seventy-one, seventy-two… ninety-eight, ninety-nine, one hundred.”

After blasting a hundred black Demon Swords in succession, Zhang Yang exhaled. “I’m a generous and righteous person with a bit of *OCD. One hundred is a nice number, so let’s count the rest as just one more.”

[*meaning he likes neat or satisfying numbers].

He unleashed his full strength, activating Baxiang Power and Slaughter Thunder Power.

The flames surged, the thunder roared, and he charged forward with determination.

The passage ahead shook from the explosive force, and all the black Demon Swords were destroyed before they even had a chance to shoot out.

“How about that? Fair enough, right?” Zhang Yang said. “I clearly could have saved you even more times, but I’m only counting it as one hundred and one.”

Bing Yuyan clenched her fists and gritted her teeth, on the verge of bursting with anger at this shameless man!

In her life, she had never encountered such a person.

Zhang Yang chuckled to himself, thinking he would teach her a lesson for being so proud, self-important, and looking down on others.

If Bing Yuyan had been an enemy, he would have already defeated her by now—just like Mu Shaoyang, the Seventh Prince, and Qiu Lingshui, all of whom looked down on others—something he found utterly detestable.

Soon, they moved forward unimpeded and quickly reached an underground chamber.

It was cold inside the chamber.

An Ice Spirit Stone large enough to serve as a single bed lay in the center, with a sword inserted atop it.

“This is the Ice Spirit Holy Sword.” When Bing Yuyan saw the sword, her earlier irritation vanished, replaced by delight and excitement.

The sword had been preserved.

The Ice Spirit Holy Sword—a holy weapon!

This was genuine and authentic.

Bing Yuyan’s pride returned as she huffed, “With this sword in hand, no one beneath the sages in the Southern Region can stand against me.”

She was brimming with self-confidence.

Zhang Yang remained silent, watching her.

Feeling uneasy under his gaze, Bing Yuyan suddenly recalled that the Vast Forest was also part of the Southern Region, and this strange man beside her was so formidable. Her previously rising momentum quickly deflated.

“Forget I said anything,” she muttered.

She took out a useless storage bag and prepared to collect the Ice Spirit Stone and the Ice Spirit Holy Sword.

Zhang Yang asked curiously, “Aren’t you taking the sword?”

“This divine stone harbors mysteries that only a sage can forcefully break open, or one must use Ice Spirit Power; others cannot do so,” Bing Yuyan replied somewhat regretfully. “If I had obtained this sword back then, the Ghostly Divine Platform and the Demon Sword Forbidden Area wouldn’t have dared act so recklessly.”

“Really? I’d like to give it a try,” Zhang Yang said, genuinely intrigued.

“Fine, go ahead,” Bing Yuyan replied.

Zhang Yang noticed the teasing glint in her beautiful eyes. He immediately understood that the first beauty of the Southern Region was trying to find an excuse to vent her frustrations and strike him down.

That only made him even more eager to test himself.

With the Eight Divine Powers unleashed without reservation—

Boom!
