Chapter 10: Title
"Yao Yao, do you know where Yutian went?"
Wei Yao looked innocent. "I don’t know. I haven’t seen Yutian since I woke up."
While filming Wei Yao earlier, a staff member had been actively searching for Song Yutian in their shared room. They checked the bathroom, balcony, and even the hallway outside but found no trace of her.
The room director grew anxious. Failing to film this segment was minor, but what if Song Yutian’s absence delayed the competition schedule? Everyone knew Song Yutian had a questionable reputation, but causing trouble on the first day was unexpected.
The director decided to contact the Chief Director to switch filming groups and prevent a live broadcast mishap. Just as he was strategizing, Wei Yao suddenly laughed.
"I was joking," Wei Yao said with a smile. "Yutian told me she went for a morning run and would return in half an hour." She glanced at the wall clock. "It’s about 9:10 now—she should be back soon."
Relieved, the director thought Song Yutian wasn’t entirely irresponsible after all. As he prepared to coordinate other teams, a staff member shouted from the hallway: "Song Yutian’s back! She’s coming upstairs!"
Though still annoyed, the director set down his walkie-talkie and signaled for filming to resume. About ten seconds later, the door opened to reveal Song Yutian holding a water bottle.
Surprised by the room full of staff staring at her, she paused before waving. "Hello, everyone."
The director couldn’t hide his irritation. "Why go running so early?" Catching his harsh tone, he added jokingly, "We thought you’d vanished!"
"Why run?" Song Yutian echoed. "To exercise." Though currently an actress, her true passion lay in dance—a field requiring physical conditioning that her body lacked due to years of neglect. She needed to rebuild her fundamentals through daily training.
Having risen at 8:00 AM for a 10:00 AM shoot, she’d deemed a quick run before 9:00 perfectly manageable. She hadn’t anticipated the crew arriving at 9:10.
Unaware of these details, live viewers immediately criticized:
[So yesterday’s normal act was just a facade!]
[Morning runs for image-building? How fake!]
[How rude to keep everyone waiting!]
[She totally planned this drama for screen time!]
Reading the room’s tension, Song Yutian apologized: "I’m sorry. Since we were told filming starts at 10:00, I didn’t expect…"
Her sincerity softened the director. "Our fault too—we should’ve notified everyone that we randomly begin filming one hour before the call time. Please stay in the villa during that window."
Nodding, Song Yutian promised, "I’ll adjust my schedule tomorrow."
(Why insist on running? the director mentally grumbled while smiling in approval.)
The resolved incident informed viewers about the secret filming rule. Critics quieted without retracting their comments.
Staff shifted focus: "Yao Yao showed her morning routine. Would you share yours?"
"Of course," Song Yutian said as she set down her water bottle. "But let me wash up first—just finished exercising."
Cameras followed her to the bathroom, where two neatly arranged skincare piles flanked the sink. Selecting a tube from the left side, she washed her face under full camera scrutiny—including close-ups of her damp skin.
When she settled beside Wei Yao at the vanity, viewers suddenly realized she’d been completely barefaced earlier. Post-cleansing, her slightly flushed complexion looked identical to when she’d entered—no makeup difference whatsoever.
As she unscrewed a white jar to demonstrate her routine, comments flooded:
[Wait—actresses actually go makeup-free in public?!]
[That raw close-up… celebs really are different!]
[Okay, she’s stunning! New Song Yutian fan here!]
[Still dislike Sister Song, but damn that natural glow!]
[How wasn’t she famous before with that face?]
Though cameras focused on her face, sharp-eyed viewers noted her products:
[Was that drugstore Bear Brand cream?! No way!]
[No way? This is a female celebrity using supermarket bargain cream?]
[It’s definitely the Little Bear Cream. I just bought this brand for my dad during a promotion—ten yuan per bottle!]
[This must be part of her persona. I refuse to believe any female entertainer would actually use this.]
The audience heatedly debated, but only Song Yutian herself knew these were truly the original owner’s authentic skincare products she was still using.
She couldn’t comprehend how the original "Song Yutian"—a recognized name in the entertainment industry—could be impoverished enough to purchase 10-yuan skincare products from supermarkets, with barely over two hundred yuan remaining in savings.
Song Yutian continued interacting with staff before the cameras. After several more minutes of filming, the live stream camera cut to the next room.
Unbeknownst to Song Yutian, ten minutes later, in another city, her agent received a phone call.
