Chapter 9 I Want Her to Stay Away from Me
Seeing Fang Yu silent, Tang Mingde gave a glance to Tang Si, who was standing behind Fang Yu.
Tang Si immediately stepped forward.
“Uncle Si! Don’t!” Tang Xiaorou’s face changed drastically when she saw Tang Si about to take action against Fang Yu.
Tang Si was a martial artist at the innate eighth stage! If he struck, Fang Yu would surely be severely injured!
“Kid, I’ll give you one last chance. Tell me the truth—who sent you here, and what is your purpose?” Tang Mingde asked, his brow furrowed.
As a top-tier family, the Tang family had too many enemies, both in the open and in the shadows.
For Tang Mingde, every enemy he could expose was one less threat; he preferred to kill wrongly than to let anyone go.
“I’ve told the truth, but you don’t believe me. What can I do?” Fang Yu shrugged.
Fang Yu’s fearless demeanor completely infuriated Tang Mingde.
“It seems you won’t shed a tear until you see the coffin.” Tang Mingde’s voice turned icy.
Tang Si reached out, grabbing towards Fang Yu.
“Stop! Cough…”
At that critical moment, an elderly voice came from upstairs, accompanied by a cough.
“Grandpa!” Tang Xiaorou exclaimed excitedly upon seeing the old man being pushed in a wheelchair by a servant at the top of the stairs.
“I am willing to let Fang Yu treat my illness,” the old man said, looking at Tang Mingde.
Tang Mingde’s expression changed, and he hurriedly said, “Dad, you can’t just let anyone treat you! Not to mention whether this kid has ulterior motives, just his age alone makes it impossible for him to be a doctor!”
“Mr. Tang is right. Old Tang, although you are in the late stages of lung cancer, you must not blindly trust dubious people. Doing so is equivalent to giving up hope for survival… As long as you follow the chemotherapy plan I provide and keep a relaxed mind, your lifespan can be extended…” Standing next to the old man was Chen Jingxin, a lung cancer expert invited by Tang Mingde from the capital.
“Dad, Dr. Chen is a professional; you should at least listen to him,” Tang Mingde said.
The old man shook his head and said, “No matter how professional he is, he can only give me three more months to live. I have personally witnessed Fang Yu’s abilities, and I am willing to trust him. Please do not obstruct me any further.”
Tang Mingde wanted to say more, but seeing the old man’s resolute gaze, he swallowed his words.
The old man’s health was already very poor; he could not afford to anger him further.
“Dad, I agree to let Fang Yu take a look at you, but we must have Dr. Chen present,” Tang Mingde said.
This was his final bottom line.
“Fang Yu, is that alright with you?” the old man asked, looking at Fang Yu.
“Sure, the sooner the better,” Fang Yu replied lazily, stretching and yawning.
His nonchalant attitude made Tang Mingde and the others very displeased.
Even Tang Xiaorou began to have doubts.
He seemed too unreliable.
A few minutes later, Fang Yu arrived at the old man’s study on the second floor.
Fang Yu took a stool and sat in front of the old man.
Tang Mingde and the others stood nearby, about five meters away.
Moreover, in addition to Tang Si, Tang Mingde had called up two bodyguards to prevent any sudden moves from Fang Yu.
Fang Yu grabbed the old man’s right wrist and took his pulse.
Seeing this, Chen Jingxin showed a look of disdain.
The old man had lung cancer; what was the use of taking his pulse?
Unfortunately, Chen Jingxin only saw the surface.
In reality, during the pulse-taking process, Fang Yu had already infused his true energy into the old man’s pulse, allowing it to circulate through the old man’s body to assess his condition.
Logically speaking, externalizing true energy could only be done by someone at the foundation-building stage or higher.
However, Fang Yu had been able to externalize true energy since reaching the hundredth level of the Qi Refining stage.
A minute later, Fang Yu withdrew his hand.
“The situation is not looking good.”
Upon hearing this, Chen Jingxin scoffed even more.
He had always looked down on traditional Chinese medicine, believing it to be pseudoscience, a bunch of old practitioners playing tricks.
What Fang Yu was doing only confirmed his views.
Taking a pulse and then gravely stating that the situation was not good could be acted out by anyone!
“Cough, let me say a few words… Young man, what did you see? What exactly is not good? Can you explain in detail? I would like to learn from your traditional Chinese medicine,” Chen Jingxin said, his words sharp, his eyes full of contempt.
Tang Xiaorou nervously watched Fang Yu, fearing he wouldn’t be able to explain himself.
“The cancer cells have spread throughout the body, especially around the spine. The reason the old man cannot walk is that the cancer cells have eroded his spine. Additionally, the old man likely has high blood pressure and mild cerebral infarction…”
Fang Yu spoke as if he had seen the old man’s medical report, listing all of the old man’s ailments.
At first, Chen Jingxin wore a mocking expression, but as he listened, his face gradually changed to one of shock, eventually widening his eyes in disbelief.
Every symptom Fang Yu mentioned was correct! Including some that had only appeared in the last two days!
Tang Xiaorou didn’t quite understand and looked at Tang Mingde, only to find him also stunned.
“How is this possible? Did someone leak the old man’s medical report?” Liang Rong exclaimed loudly.
Tang Mingde came back to his senses, looking at Fang Yu with more excitement than shock.
What Liang Rong mentioned was impossible.
The complete medical report of the old man was kept securely in a safe by Tang Mingde himself; no one else could have accessed it besides the attending physician.
Moreover, Fang Yu had also mentioned several symptoms that had only recently appeared.
This young man truly had skills!
“With your condition, it’s impossible to cure you.” At this moment, Fang Yu spoke again.
The hope that had just ignited in Tang Mingde’s eyes was instantly extinguished.
Tang Xiaorou’s eyes turned red.
“I told you this kid is useless; he can identify the illness but can’t treat it. What good is he to you?” Liang Rong mocked from the side.
“Then… how long can I live?” the old man asked with difficulty.
“I will first give you acupuncture, and then I will provide you with a prescription. If you can obtain all the herbs on that prescription and take them once a day… you might live for about another ten years,” Fang Yu said.
Ten years!?
The old man was taken aback for a moment, then filled with ecstasy!
He had been diagnosed by numerous doctors to have less than three months to live, yet he could live for another ten years!?
“Fang, Fang Yu… is what you said true? You’re not joking, are you?” Tang Xiaorou asked, tears welling in her beautiful eyes.
“The premise is that you can gather all the herbs on that prescription; some of them should be quite rare now,” Fang Yu replied.
“This is definitely not a problem! No matter how rare, we will get them! Fang Yu… sir, please hurry and give my father acupuncture,” Tang Mingde said excitedly.
An hour later, Fang Yu walked out of the old man’s study.
During the acupuncture, the old man spat out a mouthful of blood, startling Tang Mingde and the others.
But this blood was a buildup of toxins from within; after expelling it, the old man felt much lighter, and his complexion regained some color.
Chen Jingxin used professional instruments to measure the old man’s condition and found that various dangerous indicators had significantly decreased.
At this point, Tang Mingde and the others completely believed in Fang Yu. After all, the old man had taken countless medications, but none had been as effective as this acupuncture session.
Chen Jingxin found an excuse and left the Tang family in a huff.
Although Liang Rong still looked down on Fang Yu, she no longer dared to say anything openly.
After writing down the prescription, Fang Yu prepared to leave.
“Doctor Fang, please do not hold our previous misunderstandings and rudeness against us,” Tang Mingde said sincerely.
Fang Yu waved his hand, indicating it was not a big deal.
Tang Mingde then took out a check and handed it to Fang Yu.
“Doctor Fang, this is a blank check; you can fill in any amount you want. This is your payment for treating my father.”
“Actually, money isn’t important. I just hope Tang Xiaorou won’t forget the promise she made to me,” Fang Yu said, looking at Tang Xiaorou.
“Haha, you two have a deal on the side? That’s a good thing; young people should communicate more,” Tang Mingde laughed.
He knew that Fang Yu was a rare medical genius, and having Tang Xiaorou get closer to him would definitely be beneficial.
“It’s not really a deal; I just want her to stay away from me,” Fang Yu replied.
