Chapter 43: Don’t Mess with Me!

Half an hour later, Fang Yu arrived at the entrance of the forest.

The outermost part of the forest was surrounded by a fence, and a large warning sign stood at the entrance, with four big characters written on it.

“Entry Forbidden!”

A black jeep was parked at the entrance, indicating that someone had entered before Fang Yu.

These people had not gone far.

Fang Yu could still clearly sense their presence; it was the four individuals he had encountered the day before, led by Zhong Li Yu.

Fang Yu did not rush into the forest but stood at the entrance, looking deep into the forest, where a thick white mist covered the area.

Before him was a narrow path, flanked by towering trees that were about thirty meters high.

However, Fang Yu was not concerned about the plants and scenery.

He realized that this forest was a massive formation.

From the entrance, if one ventured about a hundred meters inward, that was the extent of the formation.

Although there was still some distance to go, Fang Yu could still feel a faint power emanating from the formation.

From this power, it was evident that the formation had existed for a long time and was about to become ineffective.

To set up such a large-scale formation, at least three Core Formation stage cultivators would need to work together.

What could such a formation be used to suppress?

It couldn’t be a seventh-tier demon beast, could it?

Thinking of this possibility, Fang Yu’s eyes lit up as he moved forward.

After walking about a hundred meters, he reached the boundary of the formation.

Without hesitation, Fang Yu stepped inside.

Upon entering the formation, he was greeted by a refreshing herbal fragrance.

With just one whiff, Fang Yu recognized it as the scent of an Ice Soul Snow Lotus that was over a thousand years old.

The direction of this fragrance was quite clear, leading deep into the forest.

Fang Yu frowned slightly but continued deeper into the forest.

After about fifteen minutes of walking, he saw a hot spring ahead, emitting steam.

In the center of the hot spring, about thirty meters from the shore, there was a protruding white rock, on which grew a sky-blue Ice Soul Snow Lotus.

Next to the hot spring stood a stone tablet.

Fang Yu knew that was the eye of the formation!

At this moment, Zhong Li Yu and her companions were already standing by the shore, gazing at the Ice Soul Snow Lotus with delight in their eyes.

Although they did not know the exact species of this snow lotus, its fragrance alone indicated that it was definitely a top-grade item!

Zhong Li Yu did not expect to find such a priceless medicinal herb so soon after entering the forest!

“Miss, let’s go get it!” Zhou Bei said, his eyes filled with greed as he looked at the Ice Soul Snow Lotus.

He knew that the snow lotus would not fall into his hands, but as a member of the team, he could at least get a substantial sum of money!

“Yes, Miss, we hit the jackpot this time! If this snow lotus goes to auction, it won’t sell for less than a hundred million!” Zhu Ling Shan said, his eyes burning with excitement.

“Only a fool would sell it! Does the Zhong family lack this little money?” Zhong Li Yu scoffed, saying.

Once she obtained this snow lotus, she would definitely present it to the family elders to gain status and influence within the Zhong family.

Compared to that, one or two hundred million was nothing.

However, obtaining this snow lotus was clearly not a simple matter.

Otherwise, why had so many people entered before and failed to take the snow lotus? Instead, they had even lost their lives?

Zhong Li Yu was not an impulsive person; she looked at Tu Feng to seek his opinion.

Tu Feng was a half-step master, the strongest among them, and his words naturally carried the most weight.

“Let me try first,” Tu Feng said in a deep voice.

He picked up a small stone from the ground and threw it into the hot spring.

The stone sank directly to the bottom of the hot spring without any special reaction.

Tu Feng frowned and picked up a nearby branch with intact green leaves.

He threw the branch into the hot spring.

The branch floated on the surface of the hot spring water, still showing no reaction.

It seemed that there was nothing wrong with the water in the hot spring.

However, Tu Feng believed it was still necessary to be cautious, especially since so many people had lost their lives in this forest.

He wanted to find a living creature to throw into the hot spring to ensure everything was safe.

While thinking this, Tu Feng looked around and suddenly noticed Fang Yu standing not far behind them, his eyes narrowing.

“It’s you!?”

Following Tu Feng’s gaze, the other three turned to look at Fang Yu.

“What are you doing here…?” Zhong Li Yu asked, looking at Fang Yu with some confusion.

But soon, she realized that Fang Yu must have been trying to follow them, hoping to get a share of the spoils!

By doing so, Fang Yu would not have to bear any risks.

Because if danger arose, it would undoubtedly be the four of them in front who would encounter it first.

Fang Yu could follow behind, ready to escape or take advantage of the situation!

That scoundrel!

Understanding this, Zhong Li Yu’s expression turned very ugly.

“Miss, this brat must be trying to…” Zhu Ling Shan said angrily from the side.

“I know,” Zhong Li Yu raised her hand, a cold smile appearing on her face. “Brat, I made it clear yesterday that this is not a place for you.”

“But since you came and followed us, don’t blame us for being ruthless!”

Tu Feng stepped forward, coldly saying, “Just what we need, a living creature to verify if there’s a problem with the hot spring.”

“Master Tu, thank you,” Zhong Li Yu cupped her fists in gratitude.

“Just a small matter,” Tu Feng replied coldly, then charged at Fang Yu with incredible speed!

Fang Yu’s expression remained indifferent as he stood still with his hands behind his back.

“Is this kid giving up resistance?” Zhou Bei said in surprise, seeing Fang Yu’s nonchalant demeanor.

“Resistance? That’s Master Tu! That kid is lucky to still be standing; it’s already impressive he’s not scared stiff,” Zhu Ling Shan scoffed.

Seeing Tu Feng’s imposing aura, Zhong Li Yu immediately shouted, “Master Tu, don’t kill him; we might need him later!”

“I know what to do,” Tu Feng replied coldly, then threw a punch at Fang Yu.

The punch was aimed directly at Fang Yu’s right chest, the wind from the punch fierce!

But Fang Yu didn’t even blink; he quickly raised his foot.

Before the punch could reach him, his foot kicked Tu Feng in the abdomen.

“Bang!”

With a loud crash, Tu Feng was sent flying several dozen meters away, finally landing not far in front of Zhong Li Yu and the others.

Zhong Li Yu and her companions were now frozen in shock.

What… what just happened?

“If you want to take the snow lotus, go ahead, but don’t provoke me,” Fang Yu said nonchalantly as he turned to walk away.

He had not sensed any demon beasts in the vicinity, so he decided to explore other parts of the forest.

As for the Ice Soul Snow Lotus, he had little interest in it.

First of all, the location of the Ice Soul Snow Lotus seemed very suspicious.

It felt like bait.

From the moment he stepped into the formation, he could clearly smell the fragrance of the Ice Soul Snow Lotus.

Most people would be unable to resist the temptation and would follow the scent to this spot.

What would happen next?

After so many people entered here, they never came out again.

What would happen was already quite evident.

Fang Yu’s purpose for coming here was to hunt high-tier demon beasts; he was not concerned with anything else.

…

By the hot spring, Tu Feng struggled to stand up, clutching his abdomen, his face pale.

He looked in the direction Fang Yu had left, his eyes filled with horror.

This kid was clearly only at the fifth stage of innate cultivation; why did he possess such immense strength and such quick reflexes?

Zhong Li Yu came back to her senses, looking at Tu Feng with a shocked expression, her eyes filled with doubt.

Tu Feng was renowned in the underground circles of Jiang Hai City, yet he had suffered at the hands of a mere fifth-stage innate cultivator, making him seem unworthy of his reputation.

“Master Tu, is that kid really that strong…?” Zhong Li Yu asked.

Being kicked away by Fang Yu in front of his employer left Tu Feng feeling incredibly embarrassed.

He certainly would not admit how strong Fang Yu was.

He shook his head and said, “That kid just has strength beyond the ordinary. I was too careless earlier, which is why I was injured… If he dares to show up again, I will definitely take his life!”

Zhong Li Yu nodded, no longer speaking.

Her purpose for coming here was not to deal with Fang Yu; since he had left, she would set him aside for now.

The primary goal now was that snow lotus!

“Master Tu, what should we do now?” Zhong Li Yu asked.

“I think we still need to use a living creature to verify…” Tu Feng said, clutching his painful abdomen.

“Miss, I think we don’t need to be so cautious; this must just be ordinary hot spring water! Didn’t we just test it with leaves and stones? A living creature for verification? Let me give it a try!” Zhu Ling Shan said impatiently, walking directly to the shore and reaching his hand into the hot spring.
