Chapter 38: You’re Not Good-Looking

After Yu Yueyue woke up, she was immediately able to walk freely on the ground.

This left the attending physician speechless, repeatedly calling it a miracle.

After chatting with Yu Yueyue for a while by her bedside, Fang Yu left.

Returning to the urban village, he suddenly remembered that the small building had been reduced to ruins.

“The medicinal herbs in the storage room…” Thinking of this, Fang Yu’s expression changed.

With such a powerful explosion, those herbs must have been completely obliterated.

Xia Xia, I’m sorry.

Fang Yu sighed inwardly.

A building had collapsed, a pile of rare medicinal herbs had been destroyed…

This debt must be settled with the Yang family!

Yang Shaorong and Yang Yinzhu couldn’t hide forever.

As soon as they returned, Fang Yu would go to settle the score!

With no home left, where would he sleep?

For Fang Yu, sleeping and eating were top priorities!

It was already late at night, eleven o’clock, and he couldn’t find anywhere else to go.

So, he called Ji Rubi.

“Mr. Fang, if you don’t mind, you can stay at our house for a while…”

“No problem.” Fang Yu immediately agreed.

Twenty minutes later, the car sent by the Ji family arrived.

Fang Yu opened the car door and got in, finding Ji Rubi sitting inside.

“I just finished work, so I came to pick you up,” Ji Rubi smiled at Fang Yu.

Ji Rubi was wearing a women’s suit, with light makeup on her face, exuding a faint orchid fragrance.

“Mr. Fang, you were truly unstoppable tonight; I heard Yang Xu was beaten into a cripple by you,” Ji Rubi said, her beautiful eyes sparkling as she looked at Fang Yu.

“Yang Xu was taken away?” Fang Yu asked.

“Yes, the Yang family sent someone to take him away,” Ji Rubi replied.

Fang Yu nodded and fell silent.

“Mr. Fang, may I ask, what level is your strength at?” Ji Rubi leaned slightly forward and asked softly.

“According to your standards, my strength is at the innate level of nine thousand eight hundred thirty-six,” Fang Yu answered honestly.

But Ji Rubi chuckled and said, “Mr. Fang, if you don’t want to say, that’s fine, but why make it sound like a joke?”

Fang Yu looked out the window, knowing that even if he told the truth, no one would believe him.

After a moment of silence, Ji Rubi said softly, “Mr. Fang, do you think I’m not pretty, which is why you haven’t looked at me since you got in the car?”

Did she notice that?

Fang Yu indeed didn’t want to see Ji Rubi’s face, not because she wasn’t pretty, but because he didn’t want to recall that woman.

That woman shouldn’t have left any descendants.

But why do two people without blood relations look so alike?

“You are beautiful,” Fang Yu still didn’t look at Ji Rubi and said.

“Then why won’t you even look at me? You must think I’m ugly, right?” Ji Rubi said with a hint of a pout.

Fang Yu had no interest in continuing this topic with her, so he replied, “Well, I actually think you’re not pretty.”

“…” Ji Rubi was stunned.

The topic ended.

…

After arriving at the Ji family, Fang Yu casually chose a guest room, washed up briefly, and lay down to rest.

The next day, Fang Yu arrived at the classroom, where Tang Xiaorou had been waiting for him.

On his desk were two breakfasts, both sandwiches.

“Fang Yu, I brought you yesterday’s breakfast too,” Tang Xiaorou said, her delicate face slightly flushed.

“Weren’t we supposed to avoid repeating the same style every day? Why are both sandwiches?” Fang Yu asked.

“They’re different! One has bacon, and the other has ham. You should try them and see if they’re good!” Tang Xiaorou urged.

Fang Yu took a bite of the sandwich.

To be honest, it was quite ordinary.

But seeing Tang Xiaorou’s nervous expression, he knew she had made it herself, so he said, “It’s okay.”

Tang Xiaorou was overjoyed and said, “I made this! Not bad, right?”

“There’s still a lot of room for improvement,” Fang Yu commented.

The surrounding classmates, seeing Tang Xiaorou and Fang Yu chatting and laughing, looked puzzled.

Wasn’t Tang Xiaorou supposed to have fallen out with Fang Yu completely? They had been confronting each other just yesterday.

How had their relationship improved so quickly today?

These people felt a sense of betrayal.

They had all been in the same boat, standing against Fang Yu.

But Tang Xiaorou had betrayed them so quickly!

Was she being fair to Zhao Shuang’er?

Coincidentally, Zhao Shuang’er and Yang Xu were both absent today.

Seeing Zhao Shuang’er’s empty seat, Tang Xiaorou felt a bit complicated.

After last night’s events, she no longer knew how to face her former good friend.

During the break, while Fang Yu was working, Tang Xiaorou tapped him on the shoulder.

“That Jiang Yue is looking for you,” Tang Xiaorou said.

Fang Yu turned his head and saw Jiang Yue standing at the back door of the classroom.

“Send her away,” Fang Yu said.

Using his intuition, Fang Yu could guess Jiang Yue was looking for him for her father’s position.

But Fang Yu felt no sympathy for Jiang Yue’s family; it was all their own doing.

Tang Xiaorou walked to the back door of the classroom and said a few words to Jiang Yue.

Jiang Yue’s expression changed, and she walked directly into the classroom, coming to Fang Yu.

“Fang Yu, what do I have to do for Miss Ji to let my dad off? Whatever you ask, I can accept!” Jiang Yue looked at Fang Yu and said.

Fang Yu remained silent, continuing to look at her.

“Fang Yu, I’m begging you, my dad really can’t lose that job…” Jiang Yue pleaded.

“You’re very noisy,” Fang Yu frowned slightly, looking at Jiang Yue.

Jiang Yue wanted to say more, but Fang Yu silenced her with a cold glare.

“Get out immediately,” Fang Yu said.

Jiang Yue’s face turned pale as she left the classroom.

Fang Yu was unyielding; she had no way to change his mind.

But if she couldn’t get Fang Yu to speak, her father would never regain his position.

She had to think of another way…

At noon after school, Fang Yu received a call from Ji Rubi.

“Mr. Fang, regarding the primitive forest in Sanhua City, I’ve just received news that a group of martial artists wants to enter there. If you’re interested, I can arrange for them to meet you; they might have other information.”

Fang Yu thought for a moment and replied, “Okay, please help me arrange a meeting with them.”

He had to visit that primitive forest.

If there really was a high-level demon beast inside, he would strike it rich.

Fresh demon beast inner cores could provide him with the purest spiritual energy; consuming a fresh high-level demon beast inner core was more beneficial than swallowing twenty low-level ones!

In the afternoon, Fang Yu left the school.

Wang Yan and Yu Yueyue were about to be discharged from the hospital, and he needed to find them a new place to stay.

…

In the urban village.

A black van pulled up in front of the ruins, and a man in a black trench coat got out.

“Is there a problem with our demolition? What else needs to be investigated? This building has been blown to pieces!” The man looked at the ruins in front of him, indignantly saying.

“Accept your fate; the person wasn’t killed, so there’s no point in saying anything. Moreover, this mission failed, and all we’re required to do is submit a site investigation report. Stop complaining and just take some photos and leave,” the driver said from the driver’s seat.

The man in the black trench coat took out a camera from his pocket and began photographing the ruins.

“I really don’t understand; we used tons of explosives, how could we not kill anyone? Did we make a mistake? That person could have been turned to ash,” the man muttered while taking pictures.

It was indeed strange; as a demolition expert, he had perfectly calculated how much explosive was needed to destroy the building and had successfully detonated it the moment the target opened the door.

In such a situation, he couldn’t fathom how the target had survived.

“I heard that person went to find trouble with the employer last night,” the driver said, pulling out a cigar and lighting it.

“How is that possible!? Even if that person wasn’t killed, they should have been severely injured; how could they still have the strength to confront the employer? Unless that person is an alien or a Transformer!” The man finished taking pictures and turned to look at the driver, speaking loudly.

“Ha ha…” The driver took a puff of his cigar, about to speak when he suddenly noticed a figure flash behind the man, instantly startling him.

“What happened?” The man noticed the change in the driver’s expression and paused, asking.

The driver said nothing but pulled out a handgun and shot at the figure behind the man!

“Bang!”
