Chapter 32: I’ll give you three seconds, shut up!

Fang Yu’s pupils slightly constricted.

In the blink of an eye, he raised his hand, and a faint red glow emanated from his palm.

The sniper bullet, shot at high speed, struck his palm but made no sound.

Fang Yu grasped the bullet tightly, and a shattering noise followed.

The steel-core bullet turned into metallic powder, scattering in the air.

A hundred meters away, on the abandoned building, the sniper was frozen in shock as he witnessed this scene through his scope.

At such a close distance, how could any human possibly react in time?

In about 0.1 seconds, he probably wouldn’t even have time to blink, right?

Yet Fang Yu not only raised his hand but also caught the bullet with it!

That was a bullet fired from a sniper rifle! At a distance of about a hundred meters, its power was enough to penetrate a steel plate!

What kind of person was this? Human or ghost!?

Cold sweat broke out on the sniper’s forehead, and his heart trembled.

But relying on his instincts as a killer and the unique calmness of a sniper, he reacted quickly, swiftly moving the gun’s muzzle to aim at Fang Yu’s heart and fired two shots.

These two shots did not miss.

Yet they were still caught by Fang Yu’s palm!

The sniper’s heart completely collapsed.

He felt uneasy; he just wanted to leave this place as quickly as possible!

But just as he was about to put away his gun, he saw Fang Yu in the scope, giving him a slight smile.

Then, Fang Yu suddenly flicked his hand forward, and a silver light streaked through the air!

What happened next was something the sniper could not comprehend.

Because in the next second, a blood hole appeared in his forehead.

“Clang!”

A silver bullet passed through the sniper’s forehead, crashing into the wall behind him, producing a crisp metallic sound that echoed in the silent floor.

……

Fang Yu approached the dead sniper.

The sniper’s eyes bulged, filled with terror. Unfortunately, he would never know how he died.

A pool of viscous liquid flowed from his head, some red, some white, and the air was thick with the smell of blood.

Fang Yu frowned slightly, crouched down, and felt around the sniper’s clothes but found no useful information.

On his way here, he had paid attention to his surroundings and learned that this sniper was likely acting alone tonight, without any accomplices.

So, who sent this sniper?

In Jianghai City, Fang Yu did not have many enemies.

The only possibility was the Yang family.

“The Yang family… it’s time to teach them a lesson,” Fang Yu said coldly to himself.

……

Yang family.

Yang Yinzhu was dressed in a silk nightgown, lazily leaning on the living room sofa, holding a glass of champagne.

At this time, she would usually be resting.

But tonight, she knew something good was about to happen, so she decided to break the rule and stay up late to celebrate.

Footsteps sounded at the front door as Yang Xu walked into the living room. Seeing Yang Yinzhu sitting on the sofa drinking champagne, he was surprised and said, “Sister, why are you still awake so late?”

“I’m waiting for some news,” Yang Yinzhu smiled and replied.

Then she noticed the swollen handprint on Yang Xu’s left cheek, and her expression immediately turned cold.

“What happened to your face?”

Yang Xu touched his cheek, still feeling some pain.

Fang Yu’s slap was quite forceful.

Normally, if someone slapped him in public, Yang Xu would have rushed up to fight back.

But tonight, to ensure Fang Yu and Tang Xiaorou fell out, he had refrained from doing so.

However, that didn’t mean Yang Xu would forget about the slap.

He had to take revenge!

Without Tang Xiaorou as his backing, Fang Yu was just an orphan without parents.

There were a thousand ways to deal with him!

“Who did this?” Yang Yinzhu asked again, seeing Yang Xu’s gloomy expression.

“Sister, I’ll handle this myself…” Yang Xu said.

“No, you tell me who did it,” Yang Yinzhu said coldly, her face like frost.

Yang Xu was the young master of the Yang family and her most cherished younger brother.

If her brother was slapped, it was as if Yang Yinzhu herself had been slapped; it was a slap to the Yang family’s face!

This was no small matter!

The Yang family was currently on the rise and could not tolerate any provocation!

Seeing Yang Yinzhu’s unyielding expression, Yang Xu had no choice but to answer, “It was a guy named Fang Yu. Tonight, I…”

Hearing the name Fang Yu, Yang Yinzhu’s expression changed, and she immediately interrupted Yang Xu, asking, “Fang Yu? He slapped you!?”

Yang Xu was taken aback by Yang Yinzhu’s reaction and replied, “Yeah, sister… have you heard of Fang Yu?”

Yang Yinzhu and Yang Shaorong had never mentioned Fang Yu to Yang Xu before.

After some investigation, Yang Yinzhu learned that Fang Yu was studying at Jianghai High School and had a good relationship with the Tang family, with Tang Mingde valuing him highly.

But Yang Yinzhu never expected that Fang Yu would dare to lay a hand on Yang Xu!

This was a provocation right in the face of the Yang family!

That damned bastard!

“Sister, you don’t need to be too angry. I’ll handle it myself. That bastard is an orphan; it’s easy to deal with him,” Yang Xu said.

Yang Yinzhu’s expression only darkened for a moment.

Because she knew that after tonight, Fang Yu, this thorn in her side, would completely disappear.

She had hired the most professional assassin organization to kill Fang Yu.

This assassin organization had taken on multiple assassination missions against high-level martial artists, with a zero failure rate.

It was said that several half-step masters had died in their meticulously arranged traps.

Fang Yu was indeed strong, strong enough to easily defeat Bai Zhan, who was at the innate ninth stage.

But no matter how strong he was, could he surpass a half-step master?

“You don’t need to take action; Fang Yu will soon pay the price,” Yang Yinzhu said, taking a sip of champagne, her lips curling into a cold smile.

“Sister, what do you mean by that?” Yang Xu asked, puzzled.

“Sit down; have a drink,” Yang Yinzhu gestured for Yang Xu to sit.

Yang Xu was confused, not understanding Yang Yinzhu’s meaning.

“What do you think I’m staying up so late for?”

“I’m waiting for the news of Fang Yu’s death,” Yang Yinzhu poured Yang Xu a glass of champagne and then told him about Fang Yu’s earlier actions.

After hearing this, Yang Xu’s expression darkened as he said, “That damned Fang Yu! He was already provoking our Yang family! Why didn’t you and Dad tell me about this sooner?”

“These matters can be handled by me and Dad; we naturally don’t want to affect you,” Yang Yinzhu replied.

Yang Xu’s eyes turned vicious as he said, “Sister, I want to go see Fang Yu’s corpse later.”

As soon as Yang Xu finished speaking, the phone on the nearby table rang.

Yang Yinzhu glanced at Yang Xu, stood up, and went to answer the phone.

Yang Xu wore a cruel smile because he knew this call meant Fang Yu was dead.

However, as Yang Yinzhu listened to the phone, her expression turned extremely grim.

“Why did it fail? Didn’t they say their failure rate was zero?”

“Miss Yang… I’m not sure about the specifics. Their team seems surprised as well. It’s said that the sniper died very badly…”

“I don’t care about their lives; I just want to know why the mission failed! I paid them a high reward, and failure is not acceptable!” Yang Yinzhu said angrily, her voice rising.

“…Their team just sent me a message saying there’s a second plan, but this plan might accidentally harm others…”

“Have them execute it immediately! As long as it can kill Fang Yu, I don’t care about anything else!” Yang Yinzhu said coldly.

After finishing, Yang Yinzhu slammed the phone down on the table.

“Sister, what happened?” Yang Xu quickly asked.

“The mission tonight failed; they not only didn’t kill Fang Yu but also lost a sniper,” Yang Yinzhu took a deep breath and said.

“Bang!”

Yang Xu slammed his fist on the coffee table and said, “How could this happen? That bastard Fang Yu really has some incredible ability!?”

“Don’t worry; they have a second plan… we just need to wait patiently,” Yang Yinzhu said, regaining her composure.

……

The next day, Fang Yu arrived at the classroom.

After Zhao Shuang’er’s birthday party last night, none of the classmates gave Fang Yu a good look.

They even considered going to the homeroom teacher to demand Fang Yu be kicked out of the honors class, but for now, they didn’t have a suitable reason.

Fang Yu ignored their stares and sat back down in his seat.

A few minutes later, Tang Xiaorou also entered the classroom, glanced at Fang Yu, her expression cold.

After last night’s incident, her relationship with Fang Yu had reached a freezing point.

Fang Yu’s words about not being friends had completely shattered her heart.

Tang Xiaorou sat down and picked up her book to start reviewing, not exchanging a word with Fang Yu.

Fang Yu was quite happy for the peace, though he felt a bit regretful; he had won the bet and could have had breakfast every day, but now that was gone.

The morning reading bell rang, and Yang Xu still hadn’t come to class.

Fang Yu had wanted to discuss last night’s assassination with Yang Xu, but it seemed there would be no opportunity today.

During the break, Zhao Shuang’er approached Tang Xiaorou’s desk, first casting a look of disgust at Fang Yu, then speaking to Tang Xiaorou.

“Shuang’er, is Yang Xu seriously injured? Why didn’t he come today?” Tang Xiaorou asked cautiously.

“Not much; his face is just really swollen and looks bad, so he took a leave,” Zhao Shuang’er replied.

“That’s good,” Tang Xiaorou sighed in relief.

She regarded Zhao Shuang’er as her best friend and didn’t want last night’s incident to affect their friendship.

If Yang Xu had indeed been seriously hurt by Fang Yu, Tang Xiaorou would feel very guilty.

After all, Fang Yu was the one she brought along, and she felt responsible for his actions.

“Shuang’er, I apologize again for what happened last night… I’m really sorry,” Tang Xiaorou said.

“It’s fine; it’s not your fault! The real culprit has a thick skin and still acts like they did nothing wrong,” Zhao Shuang’er shot a glance at Fang Yu and said.

As soon as she said this, the classmates who had been silently observing began to criticize Fang Yu.

“Exactly, some people are just too thick-skinned, making their deskmate apologize to them? I don’t even know what they have to be so arrogant about.”

“Maybe Young Master Yang was too merciful yesterday, giving him a false sense of security. He probably thinks he’s invincible now, having slapped Young Master Yang without any consequences.”

“I was really furious last night; if Young Master Yang hadn’t stopped me, I would have gone up and beaten him up!”

Their voices were loud, clearly intended for Fang Yu to hear.

It was too noisy.

Fang Yu was reading a novel but found the cacophony ruined his reading experience.

He could no longer tolerate it.

Even if they were just kids, they needed to be taught a lesson.

“I’ll give you three seconds to shut up,” Fang Yu said impatiently.
