Chapter 18: Apologize to Her!

Fang Yu returned home and took a bottle of homemade medicinal oil, applying it to the swollen areas on Yu Yueyue’s face.

Two minutes later, the swollen marks completely disappeared.

“Let’s go home; your mom is very worried about you,” Fang Yu said.

“Mm, thank you, Brother Fang Yu,” Yu Yueyue replied, touching her now painless arm and finally showing a smile.

Fang Yu patted Yu Yueyue’s head and said, “Tomorrow, I’ll have that senior apologize to you.”

“Huh?” Yu Yueyue looked up at Fang Yu.

“She pushed you, so of course she needs to apologize,” Fang Yu stated.

“But…” Yu Yueyue hesitated; she didn’t want Fang Yu to get into trouble because of her.

“No buts,” Fang Yu said calmly.

…

Back in the courtyard, Yu Yueyue used the excuse of her classmates taking her shopping to get by, but she still received a scolding from Wang Yan.

Fang Yu returned to the second floor, contemplating the matter of the demon beast inner cores.

He had Ji Dongshan help him search for demon beast inner cores throughout the entire Jiuzhou Kingdom, regardless of quantity or price; he would buy them all.

However, Fang Yu knew that relying solely on the Ji family had its limitations. Even if they could find demon beast inner cores, the quantity would be insufficient to meet his needs.

Therefore, he needed to find more people to help him.

Currently, he could also seek help from the Tang family…

In the past, Fang Yu had considered asking secular families to help collect demon beast inner cores, but back then, he could easily find high-level demon beasts and looked down on low-level inner cores, so he abandoned that idea.

But in the last hundred years, due to the decline in spiritual energy, demon beasts had faced mass extinction. Not to mention high-level demon beasts, Fang Yu had barely found a few low-level ones.

One must accept reality; if low-level is all there is, then consuming a few more would yield effects similar to high-level inner cores.

“That kid has a big family business now; I can ask him for help,” Fang Yu suddenly thought of someone.

Fang Yu took out his phone and dialed a landline number.

It took nearly fifteen seconds for someone to answer.

“Hello.” An elderly voice came from the other end.

“Xiao Qin,” Fang Yu said.

The old man on the other end was silent for a moment before saying, “You finally called me.”

Fang Yu chuckled and replied, “You know I’m not good at socializing.”

“Then you must have something to discuss with me?” the old man asked.

“I want you to help me collect demon beast inner cores; I need as many as you can find,” Fang Yu said.

“Demon beast inner cores? I have plenty at home,” the old man replied.

Fang Yu’s heart leaped with joy as he said, “Just give them all to me. And please continue to help me collect more.”

“I’ll have my granddaughter deliver them to you; I’m planning to send her to Jiangnan for research and study soon.”

“If possible, please look after her,” the old man paused and added.

“Of course, which granddaughter is it? I remember attending a celebration for one of your granddaughters when she turned one,” Fang Yu said.

“That’s the one; she’s twenty-five now. We haven’t seen each other in twenty-four years,” the old man reminisced.

“If you want to see her, you can come find me anytime,” Fang Yu offered.

“I’m already over eighty; I can’t move around much. If we want to meet, you’ll have to come see me,” the old man coughed a couple of times and said.

“That’s fine; I will definitely see you again before you pass away,” Fang Yu smiled.

“Mm, I look forward to seeing you again,” the old man said before hanging up.

After the call, Fang Yu walked to the window, gazing at the night sky with a deep expression.

Meanwhile, far away in Yancheng, in a study of a large courtyard, an elderly man with white hair also hung up the phone.

“Twenty-four years…” the old man murmured to himself.

Then, he picked up the phone again and dialed a number.

“Have Yimo come to the study to find me.”

…

In the morning, Fang Yu arrived at the classroom.

Tang Xiaorou came in particularly early today. As soon as Fang Yu sat down, she excitedly said, “Fang Yu, yesterday I took the herbs you gave me home, and my dad was very happy. He said he must thank you and invited you to our house for dinner tonight. Do you… have time?”

Tang Xiaorou looked at Fang Yu cautiously.

“Sure, I love free meals,” Fang Yu replied.

He had planned to visit the Tang family anyway to ask Tang Mingde to help him collect demon beast inner cores, so this worked out perfectly.

Seeing Fang Yu agree, Tang Xiaorou was delighted, her smile radiant.

At that moment, Fang Yu was staring at the front row seats.

Jiang Yue hadn’t arrived yet.

Unable to wait any longer, Fang Yu went outside to wait for her at the school gate. Tang Xiaorou, confused, followed him.

Many students were entering the school in the morning. Three minutes later, Jiang Yue and her deskmate Xu Xiaona walked over, chatting and laughing.

Fang Yu immediately walked up to them.

Tang Xiaorou, who followed, looked at Fang Yu in confusion.

“Jiang Yue, I need to talk to you alone,” Fang Yu said.

Upon seeing Fang Yu, Jiang Yue’s expression instantly soured. She turned to Xu Xiaona and said, “What bad luck, running into this toad so early in the morning.”

Fang Yu remained expressionless and said, “Alone!”

Seeing Fang Yu’s commanding demeanor, Jiang Yue’s anger flared, and she shouted, “You think you can just demand that? What do I have to say to you?!”

Her sharp voice immediately drew the attention of surrounding students.

Tang Xiaorou looked bewildered, not understanding why Fang Yu suddenly sought trouble with Jiang Yue.

“We can talk here,” Fang Yu smiled slightly, stepping forward and asking, “During yesterday’s rehearsal, did you push a first-year girl?”

Jiang Yue’s expression changed, and she shouted, “What business is it of yours?! You, a freeloading toad, think you can stand up for others?”

“So you did it?” Fang Yu asked.

“And if I did?!” Jiang Yue puffed out her chest defiantly.

She knew Fang Yu had some strength, especially since He Donglin and Hu Tao were still in the hospital. But she was confident that with so many people watching, and being a girl, Fang Yu wouldn’t dare lay a hand on her.

However, if Fang Yu really dared to act, she wouldn’t let him off easily. She would make a big deal out of it and ensure he got expelled!

In a week, after several incidents, even Tang Xiaorou wouldn’t be able to protect Fang Yu!

Jiang Yue was very aggressive, glaring at Fang Yu and stepping closer.

“Do you dare to stand up for someone? Huh? With so many people watching, go ahead and make a move…”

“Slap!”

A crisp sound of a slap echoed in the classroom.

Jiang Yue stumbled back from the force of Fang Yu’s slap, nearly falling to the ground.

Fang Yu had hardly used any strength; he didn’t want to knock Jiang Yue out, as he still needed her to apologize to Yu Yueyue later.

“You dare hit me?!” Jiang Yue covered her cheek, glaring at Fang Yu with resentment.

“Everyone should have heard; you made me do it,” Fang Yu looked at the silent crowd around him and said.

No one dared to speak.

Beside them, Xu Xiaona glared at Fang Yu and said, “Fang Yu! Everyone saw you hit Yueyue! I’m going to call the counselor right now and see who can protect you this time!”

With that, Xu Xiaona quickly left the classroom.

Jiang Yue seemed to have decent social connections, and soon several girls passing by gathered around her.

“Fang Yu, you’re going too far; you even hit a girl. Do you really think no one can deal with you?”

“If the school doesn’t handle this, we’ll go directly to the board of directors!”

“Yueyue, don’t be afraid; we will stand by you…”

Fang Yu stepped forward and said, “Step aside.”

Several girls’ expressions changed as they asked, “What do you want to do?”

“I said step aside,” Fang Yu said coldly.

Meeting Fang Yu’s gaze, the girls felt a chill run down their spines and quickly moved aside.

This guy is a lunatic; they didn’t want to end up like Jiang Yue.

“Come with me to Class One of the first year and apologize to that girl from yesterday,” Fang Yu ordered.

Jiang Yue covered her face and shouted, “Apologize? You should be the one apologizing! Fang Yu, just wait! When the counselor arrives, I will make you regret this!”

“If you don’t apologize, I’ll make you regret it right now,” Fang Yu said, grabbing Jiang Yue’s arm.

“W-What are you doing?!” Jiang Yue’s face changed dramatically, and as soon as she finished speaking, she let out a shriek.

Fang Yu lifted her off the ground.

The intense pain in her arm made Jiang Yue scream repeatedly; the more she struggled, the more it hurt.

“I’m asking you one last time: will you apologize?” Fang Yu said calmly.

Seeing Fang Yu’s nonchalant expression, a chill spread through the crowd.

Even Tang Xiaorou felt that Fang Yu’s demeanor was a bit frightening.

“I’ll apologize! I’ll apologize! Just let me go,” Jiang Yue shrieked.

Fang Yu set her down.

“Now, come downstairs with me immediately,” Fang Yu instructed.

Jiang Yue rubbed her scalp, looking at Fang Yu with resentment.

But she didn’t want to suffer any more; at least before the counselor arrived, she had to comply with Fang Yu’s demands.

So, Jiang Yue followed Fang Yu to the first-year class.

Students from their class who saw this rushed back to tell their classmates. The news quickly spread, and everyone followed downstairs to see what Fang Yu wanted Jiang Yue to do.

Fang Yu brought Jiang Yue to Class One of the first year and called out for Yu Yueyue.

“Yueyue, it was her who pushed you last night, right?” Fang Yu asked.

Yu Yueyue looked at Jiang Yue, whose eyes were filled with malice and whose expression was fierce, and timidly nodded.

“She will apologize to you right now,” Fang Yu said, looking at Jiang Yue.

Even though she was extremely unwilling, Jiang Yue had no other choice at this moment.

“Where is Xiaona? Why hasn’t she brought the counselor yet?”

“Hurry up,” Fang Yu urged.

“I’m sorry,” Jiang Yue gritted her teeth and forced out those three words.

“It’s… it’s okay now, Brother Fang Yu, you all can go back,” Yu Yueyue said softly.

“No, that lacks sincerity,” Fang Yu replied.

Jiang Yue was filled with resentment, nearly unable to hold back her urge to curse.

But thinking of the pain from earlier, she held it in.

When the counselor arrives, Fang Yu would have to pay the price; for now, she just needed to endure.

“I’m sorry,” Jiang Yue said again, this time her tone slightly softer.

“Still not sincere enough; you should bow to her,” Fang Yu instructed.

“You!” Jiang Yue glared at Fang Yu, trembling with anger.

Fang Yu remained expressionless, staring directly at Jiang Yue.

Jiang Yue suppressed her inner resentment, took a deep breath, bowed to Yu Yueyue, and said again, “I’m sorry.”
