Chapter 15: The Terrifying Gaze!

“You, what are you talking about!? Who, who is curious about you…” Tang Xiaorou’s face flushed visibly, and she shrank her head back.

Fang Yu glanced at her and said, “Yesterday you mentioned there were two types of medicinal herbs that couldn’t be bought. Which two are they?”

“…Ah? Oh! It’s these two, I saved them in my phone’s notes.” Tang Xiaorou was flustered by Fang Yu’s earlier words, and for a moment, her reactions became sluggish.

She took out her phone, opened the notes, and placed it in front of Fang Yu.

“Yueyue Flower and Nine Star Grass. We asked dozens of herbal shops, and they all said they had never heard of these two herbs.” Tang Xiaorou looked at Fang Yu and said softly.

Fang Yu thought for a moment and said, “I might have these two herbs at home. After school today, you can come with me to get them.”

“Really? That’s great!” Tang Xiaorou exclaimed, her dark eyes sparkling with excitement.

“But I have one request: from now until the end of school this afternoon, don’t look at me again,” Fang Yu said.

What kind of request is that!

“Fine, I won’t look. Who wants to look at you!” Tang Xiaorou huffed and turned her head away.

Fang Yu lay on the desk, closing his eyes to rest.

After school in the afternoon, Tang Xiaorou followed Fang Yu out of the school gate.

“Where do you live? Should we ask Uncle Si to take us there?” Tang Xiaorou asked.

Fang Yu shook his head and said, “I prefer to walk home.”

“Okay then, I’ll go tell Uncle Si,” Tang Xiaorou said as she jogged towards the parked Mercedes.

Upon hearing that Tang Xiaorou wanted to go to Fang Yu’s house without needing his company, Tang Si immediately felt a bit uneasy.

Although Fang Yu’s medical skills had earned Tang Mingde’s trust, when it came to Tang Xiaorou’s safety, Tang Si had to be vigilant.

Moreover, Fang Yu’s behavior was quite strange.

He could easily take a car but insisted on walking.

Was he up to something?

“Miss, I need to report this to the head of the family…” Tang Si said.

“Uncle Si, why tell Dad about such a small matter? Later, when I bring the herbs home, I can surprise him!” Tang Xiaorou interrupted.

After saying that, fearing Fang Yu would grow impatient, she added, “Uncle Si, let’s leave it at that. I’m going ahead.”

“Miss…” Tang Si wanted to call out to Tang Xiaorou, but she had already run far away.

Tang Si thought for a moment and decided to drive behind Fang Yu and Tang Xiaorou, so if Fang Yu had any ill intentions, he could intervene in time.

At this moment, Yang Xu was waiting at the school gate to take Tang Xiaorou out for a meal, hoping to find a reason to salvage his image in her eyes after what had just happened. He happened to see Tang Xiaorou running towards Fang Yu and then leaving with him.

Seeing this scene, Yang Xu’s expression darkened.

He had clearly warned Fang Yu to stay away from Tang Xiaorou. Yet, not only did Fang Yu disregard his warning, but he also humiliated him this morning.

“Damn it! Damn it! Fang Yu, I will make you pay for this!” Yang Xu glared at Fang Yu’s back, his eyes filled with malice.

“Yang Xu!” A pretty girl spotted Yang Xu, her eyes filled with surprise as she approached him.

This girl was Zhao Shuang’er, a good friend of Tang Xiaorou.

He often saw her when he went to find Tang Xiaorou, and they were somewhat familiar with each other.

Yang Xu turned his head, saw Zhao Shuang’er, and his expression softened slightly as he asked, “What’s up?”

“Nothing much, we are old friends, right? It’s been so long since we last met, can’t I just say hello?” Zhao Shuang’er smiled, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Yang Xu.

Having been around the dating scene for a long time, Yang Xu was already a master in romance. He knew that Zhao Shuang’er had a crush on him.

However, Yang Xu had been with too many women. Although Zhao Shuang’er was attractive, compared to the women he had been with before, she could only be considered average.

But as he looked at Zhao Shuang’er now, Yang Xu suddenly thought about how well Tang Xiaorou and Zhao Shuang’er seemed to get along.

Thus, a thought was born in Yang Xu’s mind.

“The weather is nice today. Would you like to grab a meal together?” Yang Xu asked.

Zhao Shuang’er widened her eyes, pointing at herself, and asked, “Are you talking to me?”

“Yeah.” Yang Xu smiled and nodded.

“Of course, I’d love to!” Zhao Shuang’er was so happy she almost jumped up.

Yang Da Shao inviting her to dinner! This was something every socialite dreamed of!

“Great, wait a moment. I’ll have someone bring my supercar over,” Yang Xu said as he took out his phone.

“Okay!” Zhao Shuang’er nodded vigorously, standing in place with admiration in her eyes as she looked at Yang Xu.

…

Fang Yu and Tang Xiaorou walked along the road, maintaining about a meter of distance between them, with Tang Xiaorou behind.

The two did not communicate along the way, creating a somewhat awkward atmosphere.

After passing four traffic lights, Fang Yu led Tang Xiaorou into an urban village.

Tang Xiaorou had never been to such a place in her life.

“How much farther is your house?” Tang Xiaorou asked.

“Not far, just a few minutes’ walk,” Fang Yu replied.

Just as Fang Yu and Tang Xiaorou turned into a small road, a van pulled up beside them and stopped.

The door swung open, and several shirtless henchmen jumped out, clearly targeting Fang Yu as they charged at him.

Fang Yu easily dodged their attacks.

At the same time, three more vans entered the small road, and a dozen more people got out.

Without saying a word, they also rushed towards Fang Yu.

A middle-aged man stepped out of one of the vans, coldly observing Fang Yu among the crowd.

This man was He Wencheng.

“Donglin, Dabi, today I will personally avenge you! I will break this kid’s hands and feet and make him kneel and apologize to you!”

“Bang! Bang! Bang!”

Amidst the crowd, sounds of collisions and screams erupted.

Under the assault, Fang Yu remained calm, effortlessly dodging each strike while countering with punches and kicks against those who charged at him.

Tang Xiaorou, standing behind Fang Yu, was already in shock.

Having grown up under the protection of the Tang family, she had never witnessed such a scene.

One of the henchmen, regardless of the target, swung a weapon towards Tang Xiaorou’s forehead.

Tang Xiaorou’s beautiful eyes widened in terror, unable to dodge in time.

“Clang!”

Fang Yu blocked the blow with his right arm, producing a loud metallic sound.

The weapon in the henchman’s hand shattered!

The henchman was left dumbfounded.

At that moment, he only wanted to escape, to go home.

But Fang Yu did not give him that chance and kicked him.

“Thud!”

The henchman spat out a mouthful of blood, flying backward for over ten meters, collapsing to the ground.

He Wencheng, who had initially been confident, began to panic as he saw his men falling one after another.

He knew Fang Yu was skilled but never expected him to be this strong.

He had brought a considerable number of henchmen today, and now half of them were already on the ground.

“This, this…” He Wencheng felt his legs weaken and quickly walked back to the van, wanting to drive away.

Fang Yu glanced around, grabbed a henchman in front of him, and threw him towards the van.

“Crash!”

The henchman crashed into the front of the van, shattering the windshield.

He Wencheng was so frightened that he trembled all over, stepping on the gas, trying to start the vehicle.

Fang Yu threw another henchman, directly tossing him into the driver’s seat.

“Ah…”

A twisted face appeared in front of He Wencheng, causing him to scream in terror.

Fang Yu walked to the side of the van, kicked open the door, and dragged He Wencheng out.

He Wencheng was like a weak chicken, held in Fang Yu’s grasp.

“You are He Wencheng?” Fang Yu asked.

Upon meeting Fang Yu’s cold gaze, He Wencheng trembled all over.

“I-I won’t dare again, I won’t dare again, please spare me,” He Wencheng cried, completely breaking down, tears and snot streaming down his face.

Fang Yu threw He Wencheng to the ground.

He Wencheng immediately scrambled to his feet, kneeling and banging his head on the ground, continuing to cry out, “Please spare me, you have a big heart…”

“What happened! Miss, are you okay?” Tang Si, who had been driving behind, arrived late.

“Uncle Si, I’m fine. Go check on Fang Yu,” Tang Xiaorou said, her eyes slightly red.

Although she wasn’t injured, she was quite frightened.

Seeing the more than twenty henchmen lying on the ground, covered in blood, Tang Si was utterly shocked.

Where was Fang Yu?

Tang Si turned around and saw Fang Yu not far ahead, with his foot on He Wencheng’s face.

Feeling Tang Si’s gaze, Fang Yu turned his head and locked eyes with him.

Tang Si felt his heart constrict suddenly, a wave of suffocation washing over him.

In his life, he had never seen such a terrifying gaze!
