Chapter 100: I Look for Fang Yu
Fang Yu was not sure what kind of poison it was, but he was certain that these were symptoms of poisoning.
Tang Wenyuan and his wife were still arguing with Tang Xiaorou while urging the bodyguards to carry Tang Mingde to the car and take him to the hospital.
Seeing the couple’s actions, Fang Yu frowned slightly.
“Stop arguing! Set Mingde up in a room and let Doctor Fang take a look; I trust him,” said the elderly Tang patriarch, who had come out of the house in a wheelchair.
“Dad…” Tang Wenyuan’s expression changed urgently, wanting to say something more.
“Don’t say anything else. Immediately place Mingde on the bed in the room so that Doctor Fang can assess the situation,” the elderly Tang patriarch said, his gaze sharp and his voice authoritative.
Tang Wenyuan and Liang Rong exchanged a glance and said no more.
…
Tang Mingde was placed on the bed in his room, and Fang Yu extended his hand to check his pulse.
The pulse was very weak, indicating he was in a dangerous state.
Fang Yu immediately injected his true energy into Mingde’s body, channeling it through his blood vessels and meridians to expel the toxins from his bloodstream.
Soon, gray sweat began to appear on Mingde’s face and body.
After about three minutes, Fang Yu released his hand, and at that moment, Tang Mingde was drenched in sweat.
“Fang Yu, how is my dad…?” Tang Xiaorou’s beautiful eyes were filled with worry and tension.
“If it had been three to five minutes later, he wouldn’t have been saved,” Fang Yu glanced at Tang Wenyuan and his wife, paused, and said, “But now, he’s out of danger.”
Tang Xiaorou sighed in relief, though still feeling a lingering fear.
The nearest hospital was over ten to twenty kilometers away from the Tang family home. If they had chosen to take Tang Mingde to the hospital earlier, he might not have made it on the way…
The elderly Tang patriarch asked, “Doctor Fang, may I ask… what caused Mingde to suddenly be like this?”
“Poisoning,” Fang Yu replied.
Poisoning?
Everyone present changed their expressions.
“But he was injured a few days ago, and Dad has been resting at home for the past two days. How could he suddenly be poisoned?” Tang Xiaorou’s face turned pale as she spoke.
Fang Yu glanced at Tang Wenyuan and his wife again, noticing the panic they couldn’t hide in their eyes.
“Clearly, someone in your family poisoned him,” Fang Yu stated.
As he said this, Fang Yu fixed his gaze on Tang Wenyuan and his wife.
“Fang Yu, why are you staring at us? Are you trying to frame us? Mingde is my biological brother; would I do something like that?” Tang Wenyuan shouted, his face pale and his eyes frantic.
“Exactly! What do you mean by looking at us like that? Are you trying to sow discord within our family?” Liang Rong also shouted sharply.
Fang Yu smiled and said, “I haven’t said anything, but your panic suggests that you might be hiding something.”
“You…” Tang Wenyuan’s face darkened as he pointed at Fang Yu.
“You two, shut up!” At that moment, the elderly Tang patriarch suddenly shouted in a low voice.
He wasn’t a fool; he could see that something was off with Tang Wenyuan and his wife.
He didn’t want to believe Fang Yu’s words, but the couple’s behavior made his heart sink, and his eyelids twitched.
He waved his hand, signaling the butler to step forward.
“When did Mingde start vomiting blood and lose consciousness?” the elderly Tang patriarch asked.
“The head of the family suddenly vomited blood and fainted about half an hour ago in the study. I heard the sound of him falling and rushed in…” the butler replied.
“During that time, did he eat or drink anything?” the elderly Tang patriarch asked.
The butler thought for a moment and replied, “There should have only been a cup of plain water in his study…”
“Before he fainted, who went into his study?” the elderly Tang patriarch continued to ask.
The butler thought for a moment, his expression changing slightly as he glanced at Tang Wenyuan, and replied, “Mr. Tang, Mr. Wenyuan went in…”
“You’re talking nonsense! When did I go into his study!?” Tang Wenyuan’s face changed dramatically as he shouted.
The butler trembled in fear and said, “I was just at the top of the stairs when I saw Mr. Tang open the door to the head of the family’s study and walk in…”
“You’re full of crap! You’re slandering me!” Tang Wenyuan’s face was ugly as he stepped forward.
“Brat, stand still!” the elderly Tang patriarch roared.
Tang Wenyuan trembled at the shout, standing still, but still said, “Dad, do you really prefer to believe two outsiders over me!?”
“You ungrateful wretch, kneel!” The elderly Tang patriarch’s face was extremely grim as he shouted.
“I won’t kneel! I didn’t do anything; I’m being wronged!” Tang Wenyuan shouted loudly.
“What do you mean? Wenyuan and Mingde are biological brothers; how could he do such a thing!?”
“You’d rather believe this little bastard who came out of nowhere than us? Old man, have you lost your mind from treating patients!?” Liang Rong’s voice was sharp, and at this point, she had lost all restraint.
This was something that absolutely could not be admitted; admitting it would mean falling into an abyss.
“Let me help you tell the truth,” Fang Yu stepped in front of Tang Wenyuan and Liang Rong.
“You bastard, what do you want!? Do you dare to lay a hand on me…” Liang Rong’s eyes were venomous as she cursed.
But before she could finish her sentence, Fang Yu reached out and tapped her forehead.
Then, he did the same to Tang Wenyuan.
Both of their eyes immediately became vacant.
“Now you can ask them questions; they will definitely answer truthfully,” Fang Yu said to the elderly Tang patriarch.
The elderly Tang patriarch was taken aback and asked, “Doctor Fang, what is this…?”
“They are currently in a state of mental vacuum and cannot lie; you can ask whatever you want,” Fang Yu explained.
The elderly Tang patriarch took a deep breath, looking at Tang Wenyuan and his wife with a serious expression, and asked in a deep voice, “Did you two… poison Mingde?”
The elderly Tang patriarch was extremely tense, fearing a positive answer.
But the next second, his hopes were dashed.
“Yes,” Tang Wenyuan and his wife answered simultaneously.
The elderly Tang patriarch’s face turned ashen as he asked, “Why did you do this? You are brothers!”
“Tang Mingde took everything that belonged to Wenyuan. The position of head of the family should have been inherited by Wenyuan, the eldest son! But you, old man? You passed the position to Tang Mingde! You drove us to manage a broken branch company in a remote area of Jiangnan!”
“If we don’t get rid of Tang Mingde, we’ll have to live in that hellish place for the rest of our lives!” Even though their eyes were vacant, Liang Rong’s voice was still filled with resentment and malice.
“I never considered Tang Mingde a brother. Is that how brothers treat each other? He only knows how to take my things and make things difficult for me. I’m his older brother; has he ever respected me? He forced me to kill him! I had no other choice!” Tang Wenyuan said.
Hearing the couple’s words, Tang Xiaorou turned pale and trembled all over.
The elderly Tang patriarch’s face twitched in anger, nearly spitting blood!
Just because of these interests, Tang Wenyuan could turn against his own brother!?
How depraved and inhumane must one be to do such a thing?
If Fang Yu hadn’t arrived in time, their plan would have truly succeeded!
In his anger, the elderly Tang patriarch also felt a sense of lingering fear!
After answering this question, Tang Mingde and Liang Rong’s eyes regained clarity, and they woke up.
The two looked at Fang Yu in front of them, their eyes filled with horror.
They felt as if they had just entered a strange state; facing the elderly Tang patriarch’s questions, they knew they shouldn’t answer truthfully, yet they couldn’t control themselves and spoke the truth!
Now they were doomed!
Seeing the elderly Tang patriarch’s red eyes, Tang Wenyuan and his wife felt their hearts race.
“Dad, we were just induced by Fang Yu to say those things! That was absolutely not our true thoughts!” Tang Wenyuan said, sweating profusely.
“We never did such a thing; it was that bastard Fang Yu who used some method to make us…” Liang Rong’s voice was sharp as she glared at Fang Yu.
“Enough,” Fang Yu frowned and uttered two words.
“Bang!”
Tang Wenyuan and his wife were both thrown back, crashing into the wall behind them, screaming as they fell unconscious.
“Sorry, I couldn’t hold back; these two were just too noisy,” Fang Yu said to the elderly Tang patriarch.
“They got what they deserved… Doctor Fang, I’m sorry for the trouble today; our Tang family…” The elderly Tang patriarch shook his head, his face withered, as if he had aged several years in an instant.
Fang Yu said nothing; this was a family matter for the Tang family, and he had no interest in getting involved.
…
Tang Mingde soon woke up, and after understanding what had happened, his face turned ashen, unable to speak for a long time.
Fang Yu did not stay for dinner at the Tang family and left directly.
Tang Xiaorou walked beside Fang Yu, seeing him out of the Tang family gate.
“Your face seems to have healed quite a bit; my medicine works pretty well,” Fang Yu said.
“Yeah… I’ll be going back to class tomorrow,” Tang Xiaorou said, her voice a bit downcast after what had just happened.
“I suggest you rest for a couple more days and wait until your face is completely healed before going back to class,” Fang Yu advised.
“No way, I have to go tomorrow. If I take too long off, I won’t keep up with the review schedule, and the college entrance exam is coming up soon,” Tang Xiaorou replied.
Fang Yu felt a bit disappointed and could only say, “Oh.”
“You seem to really not want me to go to class?” Tang Xiaorou noticed the disappointment on Fang Yu’s face and frowned.
“I’m just showing the proper concern; don’t overthink it. Of course, your guess isn’t entirely wrong; I do feel much more comfortable when you’re not sitting next to me,” Fang Yu said.
“You…” Tang Xiaorou gritted her teeth in anger, unable to resist raising her small fist.
Fang Yu turned and walked away, not giving Tang Xiaorou any chance to throw a punch.
…
Early the next morning, Fang Yu arrived at the classroom and indeed saw Tang Xiaorou already sitting in her seat.
“Here, your breakfast,” Tang Xiaorou heavily placed two meat buns and a cup of soy milk on Fang Yu’s desk.
“We agreed not to repeat,” Fang Yu said.
Tang Xiaorou remembered what Fang Yu had said last night and felt very unhappy. She snorted coldly and said, “Eat it or not.”
Fang Yu stopped talking; he still needed to eat something.
After the morning reading class, Fang Yu lay on the desk, preparing to rest well, but a commotion arose at the back of the classroom.
“Wow! It’s the new transfer student Xia Tinghe. Isn’t she in the second year of high school? Who is she looking for in our class?” someone exclaimed nearby.
The boys in the class all turned to look at the back door of the classroom.
Xia Tinghe, dressed in a school uniform, stood by the door, peeking inside.
“Excuse me, classmate, who are you looking for? I’m the class monitor; my name is Tian Dong,” a boy with a gentlemanly smile stepped forward and asked.
Xia Tinghe seemed a bit shy, her fair face slightly flushed. After peeking into the classroom for a moment, she quietly said, “I’m looking for Fang Yu; is he here?”
