Chapter 21: The Blood-Stopping Powder
How to raid a spaceship in space? It only takes 20 minutes to prepare for a quick escape. The spaceship is fragile and full of combat personnel and crew members, making it difficult to use heavy weapons for bombing. Sending marines with torpedoes? No, you shouldn’t be afraid of the torpedoes going too deep and missing. Instead, hit the engines directly to disable the ship from jumping too far away in space, where it would be impossible to retrieve.
First, we need to understand the general structure of the ship. Without this knowledge, even if you send marines, they will be heavily defended. Then, locate the cargo hold and engine. Finally, make sure your ship is equipped with fast-firing cannons and load copper dust bullets to minimize secondary damage. Aim at the engines and destroy them to prevent the ship from escaping. Remember, do not aim at the reactor, only the engines. Engines are the mechanical rotating parts or the large exhaust ports in human engines. Destroying them won’t cause an explosion, except for cases of attempted self-destruction.
When a barrage of magnetic railgun bullets hit the Space Displacer from outer space (actually at a super close range of 200km), crushing it into twisted wreckage, all the jellyfish-like creatures aboard were shocked. What just happened? What exactly happened? The ship’s electromagnetic (wave) cannon emitted waves in an attempt to locate the enemy, but due to the 200km distance and weakened signal reception on the absorbing surface, nothing was detected.
Next, the close-range escort vessel 011 pounded the ship’s surface with small-caliber electromagnetic bullets, targeting what seemed like radar antenna dishes first, followed by observation windows and searchlights – anything assisting the ship’s escape, power generation, or surface sensors was smashed to scrap metal.
The modified cutting machine, made from a heavy laser, sliced through the ship compartments near the cargo hold, revealing the goods inside. Then, with the help of drones, the temporary crane 012 swiftly secured the cargo and reinforced it with modular fencing. After the cargo was reinforced, it was swiftly taken to the hangar.
Dismantling the wreckage based on the rough structure drawn by the mice, the crew of 011 efficiently cut off the control room and quickly sealed any leaks or vents with space-grade instant adhesive sprayed inside and outside, followed by aggressively connecting an oxygen tank with a pipe and pump, turning the control room into a makeshift space aquarium.
Similar to 012, the winch hoisted the separated control room to the hangar, where the charged capacitor released energy into the jump drive coil, making the control room vanish in an electric arc, leaving behind ships rushing in response to the explosion and flashes, with confused crew members wondering, "What just happened? Where are we? Who attacked us? What do we do next?"
Whether in space or on the water, whether you are hijacking a ship, kidnapping a captain, rescuing important personnel, or seizing crucial items, the key is to remain calm, act swiftly and accurately. The method of sending in marines to wreak havoc on half the ship is less effective than calling in a fleet to destroy the ship with one shot. When the command post is about to fall and defense is impossible, they will all do the same thing:
Delete information, destroy files, execute captured enemy leaders – because destroying is better than letting them fall into enemy hands. When facing brave commanders in desperate situations, they may choose to fight to the end, even to the point of turning the gun on themselves.
So, if you have to do a similar operation, either be quiet, like sneaking into a ventilation duct like a sneaky mouse, or pretend to be a harmless civilian in a white robe with lots of weapons. It could also be someone who likes to spy invisibly, a blonde with blue eyes and a great figure, sneaking in when nobody knows or when everyone is dead, using a tranquilizer gun, then attaching a Fulton wormhole device (Snakes really have this thing…)
Or be quick, accurate, cut off communication, destroy mobility, then simply take the whole server away, or blow up the safe room, causing confusion among the enemy, and then leave without a trace, not even showing your tail lights. Even not knowing where the bad guys came from.
Once the situation requires both parties to paddle for half a day, facing anti-aircraft fire and throwing marine troops onto the enemy’s deck, your mission is already halfway failed. Maybe blasting the wreckage directly with a cannon can recover something useful rather than being completely wiped out and burned with aluminum thermite bombs in the database, and the ashes of files in the incinerator.
Completing a huge heist case with almost no casualties and capturing high-ranking officials on the enemy ship, Nyannis people did not react in time to who did it, as the Empire’s methods are usually rough and not as efficient as if they had done it hundreds of times before (Do you remember the Red Army in the 2075 exercise? From the naval officers). The cut on the cargo hold was as finely crafted as if it were done by a shipyard master, with damaged areas thoughtfully glued up.
Nyannis people felt like an Earthling walking down the street, suddenly everything went black, and waking up with a slight sting at the waist, finding it bandaged well, even with a small worm pattern to make it look less ugly. Confused whether to call the police or who to call.
The commander of the Nyannis transport ship locked in a custom-made fish tank had a look as if to say, "Did I oversleep today? Or did I take too many drugs yesterday and hallucinated?" If they had no features on their face to make expressions.
"They talk with a shockwave, sniff sniff~ We have a translation device, sniff sniff~ It’s a bit big!" accompanying Cook Grey-Ear Steward hopped and said, "Long hand thing, sniff sniff~ You might need that~"
"You… just give me the dictionary book… please…" Commander Liu’s expression twitched as he thought about the so-called advanced computer or server that was 20 meters tall and occupied half the ship.
Because the rats can’t play on the large-scale integrated circuit, so currently they are still using an integrated circuit computer, mainly importing the main surface-mount component from the human side. In order to find enough gold to pay, the mice are now venturing out to scavenge. They enter every garbage dump, where the gems and shiny gold that were once considered useless have now become their top priority. The Lapite star smelter factory is filled with gold products waiting to be melted.
Meanwhile, humans have also gained a lot of resource points information from this trade. Nearly bankrupt Japanese are almost crying, buying a jump ship from their American dad at a super high price, then going all out to order a 250,000-ton super freighter from this side of China, packing people, equipment, and PMC (don’t expect any combat strength from JSDF) to head straight for those planets considered to have harsh environments for mining. The current progress seems to be going well.
As for infrastructure, labor, and signing "good place" treaties, it’s naturally not the turn for this kind of stepdad- raised one to participate. It’s all controlled by the five big gangsters, or more accurately the main and deputy gang leaders, even the top thug, the third in command, Ross, signed a somewhat strict treaty to mooch in a place. Currently, they are all in the investment phase, after all, these big gangsters still have colonies on the Moon and Mars, plus resources from the newly developed Titan and Venus colonies, so they are not in a hurry, they are going for maximum profit.
"Who are you guys? Why did you attack the Republic of Nyannis’ transport ship?" The jellyfish emitted piercing shrieks, which after elaborate translation and sorting, turned into hoarse Lapite language, and then translated by these linguistically talented mice into English and some Chinese.
"What is this?" Old Liu did not answer its question, but took out a piece of grey-blue mineral rock, with a sandy crystal texture, which he obtained from the mice. As for the harvested warehouse, it is being gradually dismantled for analysis. It feels like hitting the jackpot after spending real money to draw ten times, taking a bath with incense burning, changing clothes, and washing hands to prepare for the unboxing.
The main reason why it’s so slow is mainly because… well, they don’t have containers, a real bulk cargo ship, with its cargo inside so disorderly and chaotic that it’s suffocating, "Norwegian ore" (phonetic) the jellyfish person replied somberly, "a commonly used paint, used on railguns."
"Huh? Railguns?" Commander Liu was dumbfounded, you guys look like you can’t fight as well as the imperial people, yet you still have railguns? Then how did you end up in this mess?
"Yes, the electromagnetic cannon, our powerful weapon."
"Checked it, the microwave weapon, or rather… "The technical sergeant’s expression twisted a bit. "A radar with slightly excessive power… for the cat people, it probably needs to be fired many times to cause serious harm. But disrupting their radio signals and reducing the targets’ combat capabilities in strong electromagnetic environments, if powered by our source, it would probably be a microwave cannon with a range not exceeding 2000 meters, taking out an unprotected soldier poses no problem."
So, Commander Liu felt relieved, "Where is the origin of these minerals?"
"How would I know, bought directly from the recent market, who knows which mine it came from, no markings on it!" The jellyfish person’s tone suddenly rose, sounding as if a egg vendor was asked which chicken laid the egg.
"I mean, which planet did it come from?"
"Don’t know, maybe Hanar, maybe Dylis, probably from the Niya sector, anyway, there are many galaxies producing this stuff."
"Where are these galaxies located?"
"Navigational maps, can be bought at any bookstore." The jellyfish did not hesitate to betray their own kind, but to them this information was not important—just rob a small bookstore and you can get it—as easy as buying a textbook with a map of China and its geographical mineral distribution, with reserves and vein types noted for your convenience.
"Thank you for your cooperation."
"It seems like things are settled now, no need to fight with the Americans. The resources of a single planet are too much for both sides to handle. Since there may be multiple planets with minerals, it can be resolved peacefully. But when it comes to the Americans, they also got the news. What are they up to now?
Republic of Nyannis
"You’re so lucky, gentlemen. This is clearly the location of the mining site." The warehouse inside the small asteroid is filled with sand crystal rock ores, as well as some lightly refined pale blue mineral ingots. Faint patterns can be seen on the inner walls of the asteroid, identified as these ores. It seems like the place of the ore vein has been found, next is to inform the country to send mining fleets to excavate.
"Commander, urgent communication from the homeland!" The messenger, sweating profusely, handed a tablet to the commander. The first sentence at the beginning shocked him, "Earth has been attacked by a man-made meteor bomb…"
"MOS interception system has completely intercepted the target…"
"…" Don’t scare me with your ups and downs, "However, some fragments still entered the atmosphere…"
"What?"
"Fell in the Asian region…"
"……."
"Old Liu, this is information about the domestic transport ships for you."
"We were attacked by unidentified meteor bombs. Although the MOS laser intercepted the main one, some fragments hit a mall, causing 16 deaths, 38 severe injuries, and over a thousand minor injuries."
"We need to go back and find Old Zhao immediately, this is a serious matter!"
"Don’t worry, let’s finish reading first," said the deputy commander with a serious expression.
"Meteor debris has been found, with traces of artificial origin. The photos and search videos on the tablet show that the largest meteor fragments causing significant casualties are no bigger than a fist, and the smallest are just the size of a pinky finger. The meteor penetrated the glass at the top of the mall, falling into the pool, causing one person severe injury below due to glass shards, and five others minor injuries."
"…….?"
"Subsequently, unidentified individuals shouted loudly ‘terrorist attack, everyone run,’ causing widespread stampede and congestion in the mall, resulting in 16 deaths, 38 severe injuries, including 7 people still in critical condition, and around 1,300 minor injuries."
"……"
"A certain extremist organization claimed responsibility for this. The United Nations has unanimously passed a resolution for a strike, and the US military has resumed budget and equipment for Desert Operations." "Wait, isn’t this… a convenient excuse?" Commander Liu pondered as he looked at the ore in his hand.
