Chapter 3: The Birth of the Chaos Technique
More than half a month passed in the blink of an eye.
After countless combinations and arrangements, Yi Chen finally successfully tested a pathway of energy circulation.
This pathway took the Qi Sea as the starting point.
The Qi entered the meridians, passed through eight acupoints, and finally returned to the Qi Sea.
It was a very simple pathway of energy circulation.
Fortunately, the effect was quite good.
At least, Yi Chen felt that the effect was good.
This was because when the Qi traveled a full circle in the meridians and returned to the Qi Sea,
he could clearly sense that as the Qi moved in the meridians, the energy in the air was drawn in and seeped through the skin into the meridians.
Then, it would follow the Qi and make a full circle before entering the Qi Sea.
Just with that one circle, many of the energies brought into the Qi Sea were transformed and assimilated into Qi.
This was precisely the effect he wanted.
【Next, he needed to fill in the gaps and organize the entire cultivation technique!】
Yi Chen stood up.
Although his waist ached, his back hurt, and his head buzzed,
he felt extremely excited and energized.
He found a sharp stone and first drew the pathway of energy circulation on the wall, then recorded the insights and mantras he had realized beside it.
Thinking for a moment, he wrote the three big characters "Chaos Technique" next to this technique.
This was the name he chose for this technique, representing origin and beginning.
As for the Qi in the Qi Sea and the special energy in the air, he simply decided to call them spirit power and spirit energy.
Sitting cross-legged across from the wall,
he began to study how to modify and perfect the technique’s mantra to achieve a perfect match with the pathway of energy circulation.
…
In the live room number 10,
after nearly a month, the number of viewers had dropped to only two or three hundred.
These two or three hundred people persisted, purely because they were somewhat obsessive and couldn’t bear to leave until they saw Yi Chen finish all the wild fruits he had stockpiled.
"What on earth is he trying to pull this time?"
"Everything is calm, and the mind should be calm. No obsession, no anger, no waves, no ripples. Qi resides in the sea, Qi comes from the sea… what kind of nonsense is this?"
"Every day he’s skimping on food. Half a month’s worth of food is taking him nearly a month to finish, and it’s almost gone. Instead of looking for food, he’s just writing and drawing on the cave wall?"
"It feels like what he’s writing is very philosophical. Sitting there for nearly a month, is he contemplating the meaning of life, trying to become a great philosopher?"
"Hurry up! Eat the remaining wild fruits! The sooner he finishes them, the sooner he can starve."
“My goodness, is he thinking about the meaning of life again?”
“I don’t know if he’s crazy, but I can definitely say he’s driving me crazy.”
In front of the screen, more than two hundred viewers, who had some degree of obsessive-compulsive tendencies, were on the brink of emotional collapse.
They noticed that after Yi Chen made revisions,
he sat cross-legged and returned to that previous still state.
What frustrated these obsessive viewers even more was that in the past, although Yi Chen lived simply, he would still consume at least five wild fruits a day, which were the size of ping pong balls.
But this time, Yi Chen ate only one wild fruit in a whole day.
At this rate, the twenty wild fruits he expected to finish in four days could last him twenty days.
“He’s gone completely mad; only eating one wild fruit a day? I’d bet all my possessions he won’t last three days.”
“I estimate he won’t hold out until tomorrow, and if he’s not careful, he’ll finish the remaining wild fruits in one meal. When a person gets too hungry, they inevitably lose control.”
“People on the exile planet truly cannot be judged by common sense. Number three is heartless; he killed a companion for stealing a wild chicken during a hunt.”
“Number seven seems like a starving ghost; he doesn’t care whether it’s alive or dead, cooked or not, he’ll stuff anything into his mouth.”
“Number nine is like a human drilling machine. With just over five hundred people in the entire tribe, his women and children take up nearly twenty percent.”
“And number ten is a weirdo; he’s a heavy homebody and a coward who would rather starve and hide in a cave doing philosophy than go out to find food.”
One viewer couldn’t help but reflect:
“It’s hard to believe he’s the grandson of the nine-star general Yi Tenglóng. I checked Yi Tenglóng’s info; this guy is infamous for his brutality and bloodlust, having ordered the slaughter of over a billion angelic beings from an entire planet.”
“The Angel race has fought against us humanity for so many years, suffering tremendous losses but refusing to cease fighting, all because of this incident.”
This comment was immediately countered.
“Have you even seen what the exile planet is like? The population is sparse, and fierce beasts are everywhere.”
“On the exile planet, don’t expect Yi Tenglóng’s grandson to be much help; even Yi Tenglóng himself wouldn’t be of much use.”
“Back in his day, Yi Tenglóng went from being a cannon fodder mech soldier to a nine-star general through merit; he’s considered a legend in the military.”
“But after having his memory wiped and sent to the exile planet, he merely became a chieftain of a small tribe, relying on brute force rather than intellect.”
“Yi Tenglóng’s son didn’t fare any better. After being chief for sixteen years, trying every means to change his tribe’s mindset and pass on the chieftain position, he died just a few years later, and the position was taken by someone else through force.”
“By the time Yi Tenglóng’s grandson, our number ten, came along, he was simply driven out of the tribe because he was too weak and sickly to hunt.”
The viewers in the live room mumbled complaints, hoping Yi Chen would quickly finish the remaining wild fruits so they could end this dull wait.
They didn’t want to keep returning to the live room, filled with worry and discomfort.
Instead, they were bound to be disappointed.
The next day, Yi Chen still only ate one wild fruit.
On the third day, nothing changed.
What was even more unbelievable was that on the fourth day, Yi Chen didn’t eat a single wild fruit.
No one knew that he had successfully broken through a small realm.
He advanced from the first stage of Qi Condensation, which he named, to the second stage.
After breaking through to the second stage, the Qi Sea expanded, and his spirit power became more refined.
He absorbed external energy, or spirit energy, much faster now.
As the spirit energy entered his meridians through his skin’s pores, it nourished his body.
This significantly reduced Yi Chen’s need for food.
This was the reason he could sustain himself on just one wild fruit a day ever since he officially began his cultivation.
…
Days later, after Yi Chen had broken through to the third stage of Qi Condensation and was pushing toward the fourth stage,
someone suddenly pondered an unusual question.
Why did this guy seem to have good spirits despite being in a constant state of hunger?
In fact, he even appeared vibrant and radiant.
