Chapter 194: The Media’s Catastrophe

Inside the stone house,

Yi Chen constantly used his divine consciousness to control the positions of the law seals in the formations.

He combined and adjusted them over and over again.

After two consecutive days, he finally succeeded.

With a surge of spirit power injected into the formation eye,

the spirit stone within the formation eye shimmered with a silvery light.

After two to three seconds of activation,

an invisible energy shield instantly appeared.

Yi Chen attempted to penetrate the energy shield with his divine consciousness but was sealed out, unable to enter at all.

It seemed like he had succeeded!

But…

he just couldn’t get in.

The formation was too simple, having only the functions to open and close through the formation eye, which meant it couldn’t be activated or deactivated from the outside.

Additionally, the formation lacked the ability to recognize its master or outsiders.

To enter the formation, he would either have to wait one or two years for the energy to deplete and the formation to close or forcibly break it open.

He felt a bit lost.

…

The audience in the live room was even more confused than Yi Chen.

They discovered that the live stream screen no longer showed the interior of the formation.

It could only display the edge of the formation.

No matter how they adjusted the viewing angle, they couldn’t see the five-meter diameter of the formation at all.

"This, this barrier… really is like the formations set up by the strong from the various tribes. Even the scanner’s SB rays can’t penetrate it?"

"This is impossible! SB rays can penetrate an entire planet, and even the highest grade spirit stones can be seen through. The only things that can block them are extremely special materials and barriers set by the strong from various tribes."

"But the barriers set by the strong from the various tribes were also created with the help of treasures!"

"Theoretically, Yi Chen, without any treasures and only at a level equivalent to level 60, shouldn’t be able to set up such a barrier."

"Oh no, I knew it! Whenever you say something is impossible, something terrible happens…"

"What do we do now? If Yi Chen stays in the barrier, won’t we never see him again?"

This sudden situation threw all the viewers in the live room into a panic.

After so many years, they had become accustomed to seeing Yi Chen through the live stream.

If they suddenly couldn’t see him,

at that moment, everyone found it hard to accept.

Especially the female viewers, who became completely at a loss.

…

"Defensive barriers that can block scanners are born; will the live stream only have sound?"

"The first skill to frustrate the Federation of Humanity has emerged; will there be a second?"

"An expert from the Federation’s research institute reveals that while there are even more advanced scanners, they only scan from further away!"

"As Yi Chen’s strength grows, the skills he creates become more astonishing. This day was bound to come!"

"If Yi Chen sets up a larger barrier, the scanner might not even be able to scan the entire valley!"

The major news outlets were actually more anxious than the public.

Yi Chen was a seasoned introvert, and it was common for him to stay indoors for months.

If they couldn’t scan any images of Yi Chen creating new skills,

the gap between the top geniuses of the Flame Mountain Tribe and Yi Chen would only grow, leading to longer intervals in teaching new skills.

This would significantly reduce the variety of headlines they could publish.

For the news outlets, this was a catastrophic blow.

Just so they knew, in the past,

if Yi Chen pulled out a golden fur from the Little Gold Ball, what did he intend to do?

If Yi Chen took a three-minute break, what was he thinking about?

If Yi Chen checked the documents in his mailbox, why did he look strange?

They didn’t need to teach new skills; the major news outlets always had ways to generate headlines.

But now, they couldn’t scan any images of Yi Chen.

Where could they find attention-grabbing headlines?

Because of Yi Chen’s sudden rise, the news outlets that had rapidly developed for several years suddenly faced a catastrophic disaster.

…

Inside the stone house,

Yi Chen quickly thought of a new solution.

He would deplete the energy of the formation.

Luckily, only one spirit stone was placed within the formation eye.

With his current strength, using up the energy of one spirit stone was not difficult at all.

With a thought,

the spiritual sword flew out from the storage ring

and landed in his hand.

Clash, clash, clash…

Streams of Sword Energy slashed towards the formation.

This defensive formation, though extremely simple, was Yi Chen’s first creation.

Yet its defensive power was still quite impressive.

Even with Yi Chen’s strength and the power of the Heaven-Slashing Technique, when the Sword Energy struck the energy shield,

the energy shield only produced slight ripples.

He estimated that the power of the Sword Energy would have to be increased by at least ten times to possibly break the energy shield with an attack that exceeded its limits.

Clash, clash, clash…

The continuous Sword Energy hit the energy shield, making a sharp sound.

Energy surged, filling the entire room.

Squeak!

The Little Gold Ball also joined the battle.

Its golden fur shot towards the formation.

The scene looked somewhat strange.

As Yi Chen anticipated, the spirit stone in the formation eye was rapidly depleting.

He had to be thankful that he hadn’t spent much effort on researching how to save energy.

Mainly, it was his first time creating a formation, so he kept it simple to ensure a higher success rate.

In addition, given his current strength and understanding of the laws of nature, the law seals he constructed were not powerful.

Since the law seals weren’t powerful, the speed and intensity of converting energy into the power of the laws weren’t high, resulting in low energy consumption.

Thus, Yi Chen hadn’t focused on how to convert the most law power using the least energy.

After about twenty minutes, with the combined effort of him and the Little Gold Ball,

the spirit stone in the formation eye was completely consumed.

With no energy supply, the law seals stopped functioning, and the entire formation came to a halt.

The energy shield vanished,

and he successfully broke the formation!

Both the law seals and spirit stone powder became visible,

along with a pile of golden fur.

Yi Chen returned to sit on the wooden bed.

He took out two spirit stones from the storage ring and tossed them into the formation eye.

A surge of spirit power shot into the formation eye.

A few seconds later, the formation activated again.

An energy shield, detectable only by divine consciousness, appeared at the edge of the formation.

Yi Chen then sensed with his divine consciousness.

Inside the formation, forty-three types of law seals were operating normally, and the functions formed by their combinations were decent, even if not maximized.

Though there was still room for improvement, he estimated it wouldn’t enhance much.

After sensing closely,

that vague feeling of being spied upon disappeared.

This defensive formation successfully blocked that faint sense of prying.

‘Could it be that it isn’t the spirit intelligence born from power of the laws?’

Yi Chen felt some confusion.

He estimated there were two main possibilities for the source of this sense of spying.

One was spirit intelligence cultivated from the power of the laws, akin to the spirit within the fourth-grade Binding Immortal Rope, albeit on a much higher level.

The other possibility was something like the Little Gold Ball, a mysterious fierce beast that he couldn’t currently comprehend.

Both could have developed an interest in him as he led humanity from the Flame Mountain Tribe to rise rapidly by creating various skills.

Of course, there could be other possibilities, but these two were the most likely.

As the defensive formation took shape and successfully blocked the vague sense of prying, Yi Chen rejected the possibility of the will of heaven.

While this defensive formation intentionally included the function to block perception abilities and sight, its strength wasn’t great.

If the power of the laws could truly nurture spirit intelligence, then that intelligence would have an understanding and insight into the power of the laws that was unimaginable.

After all, it was the child of the laws of nature.

Yi Chen’s law seals in front of the child of the laws of nature were insignificant.

Such a weak defensive formation couldn’t possibly block the other party’s prying.

If that wasn’t the case, then the mysterious fierce beast was the top contender.

Yi Chen didn’t think too much. Regardless of the situation, the defensive formation’s ability to block the gaze meant that the other party’s strength hadn’t reached a level where he couldn’t resist.

Plus, as he sensed no hostility or murderous intent, he remained calm, observing quietly.

He took out several spirit stones and placed them beside him.

Soon, he entered a meditative state and began to cultivate.
