Chapter 436: The Effects of Artifacts
Living Ice Crystals, Jesse really didn’t know much about this thing.
He remembered it was one of the treasures rewarded to players by the Red Dragon Queen after stopping the Blue Dragon King’s attempt to destroy the world in the game.
Since he didn’t know much about it, it might not have a big role in the game.
But he didn’t know that this thing had such a significant history.
Something used by Aegwynn?
Several years later in another timeline, the Blue Dragon King Malygos, who had lost his sanity, attempted to solve the misuse of magic by depriving spellcasters in the world access to Ley Lines.
His plan was to use the Blue Dragon’s magical artifact to focus the Arcane energy of the whole world’s Ley Lines to himself.
This action would undoubtedly tear the world apart, leading to the collapse of the entire Azeroth. So, it was likely that the Kirin Tor, in gratitude for the players saving Azeroth from Malygos, presented this treasure as part of the reward.
Just holding it, Jesse could already feel the magic contained within continuously replenishing his spirit, soothing the pain caused to his body from overusing the power of the shadows.
In the afternoon, Jesse put this thing beside his pillow and took a nap. When he woke up at night, he felt that his energy was quite abundant, unlike the past few days when he felt tired all the time.
Of course, he still felt very sore all over, and the wound under the bandage did not show any obvious improvement, but he no longer felt that tiredness and weakness.
Why isn’t anyone using this thing in the game when it’s so effective?
Well, after all, no one is competing for top damage output here, in the game, basically no one is interested in equipment that does not increase intensity.
But here is different.
If Jesse keeps wearing it by his side, does that mean he won’t lack energy anymore?
No wonder those archmages are so powerful, can you not be strong when you always carry such a high-level artifact?
When he went out at night, even the guard at the door who was watching over him felt that he was recovering well. Jesse felt that this should definitely not be a misconception.
He came down the spiral stairs and looked out at the lively Nethergarde at night, and suddenly he felt that the view was different from the past few days.
No matter if this gem can resist the darkness or even the power of evil mental disorders, at least for now it is helping enough.
When he dropped the magic wand on the ground last night, he didn’t even have the strength to pull it back to him, as if his mind had completely disconnected from magic.
Or you could say, his body at that time began to resist the intervention of dark forces due to excessive damage from the darkness.
But now, he feels like he has come back to a better state. He had agreed with Greed to have dinner together at the tavern tonight. As they entered the tavern, Jesse glanced around and saw that there were quite a few people inside.
Greed was sitting by the window, surprising enough, Vereesa was also there.
When Greed saw Jesse, he immediately stood up and waved.
"Both of you are here," Jesse said as he sat down.
"I told her when I met her," Greed said, "Let’s all have a meal together."
Vereesa seemed a bit unhappy, Jesse looked at her and asked, "What’s wrong?"
The elf thought drinking is bad for your recovery." Greed chuckled, saying, "Is this a joke? How could drinking be bad for your body, right, our dwarf ancestors… "
"Stop." Jesse immediately reached out his hand and said, "Don’t talk about that anymore, I can’t stand it."
"Don’t listen to him, Jesse," Vereesa reminded.
"Don’t worry, I won’t drink," Jesse said. "I’m not like him."
"Isn’t it boring to be the only one drinking at the whole table?" Greed scratched his neck and asked.
"I’ll drink with you, dwarf," Vereesa stared at him.
"You little white rabbit, why are you so rude?" Greed slammed the table and said, "I’ll teach you a lesson today, let you see the ancient heritage of Thunderfist Hall. Bring the drinks, boss! Start with four of the strongest, watch me drink you under the table, little girl!!!"
Vereesa tapped the table expressionlessly and said, "I would like the cheese-topped cookies here."
"Bring the cookies, bread, and cheese!" Greed looked at Jesse and asked, "What would you like to eat?"
"Eat meat," Jesse said. "I want some smoked jerky."
"Jerky!" Greed waved his hand, then said, "You look energetic, young man, so I thought you were in good shape, how come you’re so tired after just a pat last night."
"Because I have something strange today, let me show you two." Jesse said mysteriously as he reached into his pocket.
"Is it from Kirin Tor?" Vereesa asked curiously.
"Yes." Jesse took out the aquamarine gemstone and placed it on the table, giving the three of them a slight chill.
"This thing must work well in a drink," Greed commented immediately.
Vereesa glanced at him and said, "This is a treasure from the Council of Tirisfal, and you’re using it for ice wine?"
"Okay, treasure, Council of Tirisfal." Greed rested his chin on his hand and looked at Jesse, then at Vereesa, saying, "Hasn’t that council been inactive for a long time?"
"But the treasure is still here." Vereesa looked at Jesse and asked, "Can I take a look at it?"
"Of course, I got this to show you guys," Jesse said.
Vereesa nodded, carefully holding the gem in her hands.
She stared at the gem for a while, and Jesse noticed a faint arcane light shining in her eyes. Then the gem emitted a cold ice light, seeming to be suppressed.
"Wow, goodness," she suddenly shook her head as if waking up and said, "I almost activated it… darn it. Sorry, Jesse, I couldn’t control myself for a moment. I’ve been away from Sunwell for too long."
"What do you mean?" Greed asked. "Activate? Activate what?"
Can this thing be used?
Jesse was surprised for a moment, never realizing that the jewelry here could also be used… Why didn’t that mage tell him about this before?
Or was this so normal that it wasn’t worth mentioning at all?
Vereesa glanced at Greed and said, "There are so many treasures that can help restore mana, even carrying the Sunwell’s water vial can have such power. If it only helps the wearer restore mana, it’s not really a precious treasure."
Jesse nodded, then Vereesa continued, "And trying to activate the power stored in a magical device is a skill that every magic user should learn, right?"
"But you are not a magic user, elf," Greed said.
"I am a magic user," Jesse said. "But I don’t know how."
Vereesa looked at him and said, "How would I know…"
Jesse sighed and said, "Blaming myself…"
