Chen Fei and Su Ran left Yellow Mist City and headed straight for Falling Spiral Valley.
“Sister-in-law, what kind of demonic beast are you planning to hunt?” Chen Fei asked as they entered the valley.
“I’ll start with top-tier Spirit Transformation Realm beasts for practice, then look for an entry-level Royal Spirit Realm beast,” Su Ran replied.
“A Royal Spirit Realm beast?”
Chen Fei was slightly taken aback. He looked at Su Ran with some surprise.
An entry-level Royal Spirit Realm beast was roughly equivalent to a third-tier True Spirit Master. For a Grand Spirit Master, it was an insurmountable gap.
More importantly, just a few days ago, Su Ran had struggled against Su Xiangwu, a ninth-tier Grand Spirit Master. And now, she was already aiming for a Royal Spirit Realm beast?
Seeing Chen Fei’s surprise, Su Ran explained, “Big Brother, I have no other choice. I’m being threatened by a Thousand-Stage Art Spirit Master. I have to take some risks.”
“You already have the strength of a True Spirit Master?” Chen Fei asked curiously, his heart filled with shock.
“More or less,” Su Ran nodded.
Hearing this, Chen Fei sighed in amazement. “Looks like you were hiding your true strength!”
“I could only improve this quickly thanks to you, Chen Fei.” A gentle smile appeared on Su Ran’s lips as she spoke about him.
Her rapid progress was largely due to cultivating the Yin-Yang Emperor Technique with Chen Fei. The benefits far exceeded her expectations, making her marvel at his extraordinary talent while feeling a sense of regret that he was born in this era.
Even back then, she had already reached a level comparable to a first-tier True Spirit Master. Later, with the Fire Cloud Fruit and two high-grade third-tier pills Chen Fei gifted her, her strength had risen even further, solidifying her early-stage first-tier True Spirit Master status.
Without this level of power, she wouldn’t have ventured into Falling Spiral Valley so boldly. Even so, she still brought Chen Fei along for support.
“Big Brother, in this expedition, I only need you to assist from the sidelines,” Su Ran added.
Chen Fei nodded slightly and said no more.
The two advanced at full speed through the outer areas of Falling Spiral Valley without slowing down. Their movements disturbed many weaker beasts, causing them to flee in panic, creating quite a commotion.
For weaker cultivators, such reckless actions were extremely dangerous, as the noise could attract stronger beasts.
But that was exactly Su Ran’s goal. Ordinary beasts no longer held any value for her.
Their bold and high-profile approach soon drew the attention of a top-tier Spirit Transformation Realm beast—an Iron-Bone Black Bear.
The Iron-Bone Black Bear stood over three meters tall when upright, with skin as tough as iron. In terms of strength, it represented the pinnacle of the Spirit Transformation Realm.
Chen Fei sensed its presence clearly even when it was still a thousand meters away. He immediately informed Su Ran.
Hearing this, Su Ran’s expression changed slightly. She hadn’t expected Chen Fei’s perception to be so sharp. A thousand meters away, in a valley full of vegetation blocking sight, yet he could still detect the Iron-Bone Black Bear’s location.
“Let’s use it for practice,” Su Ran said before dashing forward in the direction Chen Fei pointed.
Chen Fei followed closely. In less than half a minute, they encountered the beast head-on.
“Roar!”
The Iron-Bone Black Bear let out a furious roar, sending the weaker beasts in the valley scrambling in fear.
In the next instant, it launched itself into the air like a cannonball, pouncing toward Su Ran.
Its massive claws gleamed with sharp edges, radiating a terrifying aura of spiritual energy.
Clang!
The powerful strike landed on Su Ran’s drawn longblade.
At that moment, Chen Fei clearly saw the intense spiritual energy fluctuations around Su Ran, with faint traces of scorching heat.
She had forcefully blocked the full-powered attack of a top-tier Spirit Transformation Realm beast. Though the ground beneath her feet cracked from the impact, she remained unmoved.
“Die!”
With a soft yet resolute command, Su Ran swiftly drew her blade and slashed at the bear’s waist.
The Iron-Bone Black Bear’s body flashed with protective spiritual light. Even so, it dared not take Su Ran’s attack head-on and tried to retreat.
But Su Ran’s speed was astonishing. Even though the beast reacted immediately, it was too close to completely evade her strike.
Slash!
The sharp blade, glowing with firelight, shattered the beast’s protective barrier.
Blood sprayed into the air.
Despite its famed iron-like defenses, the bear’s flesh tore like paper under the force of the attack, leaving a deep, bone-exposing wound.
“Roar!”
The Iron-Bone Black Bear howled in pain. Ignoring its injuries, it turned to flee.
“As expected of an Iron-Bone beast—its defense is comparable to an entry-level Royal Spirit Realm beast.”
Su Ran remarked, but her actions didn’t slow. With a leap, she pursued the bear.
Slash!
The fire-imbued blade struck again, carving another deep wound into the beast.
Terrified and bleeding heavily, the Iron-Bone Black Bear’s will to fight collapsed. This human was too strong—beyond comprehension.
It had lost its protective barrier in one strike. Its legendary hide was slashed open in the next.
Even with its remarkable endurance, the continuous, bone-deep wounds left the bear unable to escape. Eventually, it succumbed to Su Ran’s relentless assault, its last roar filled with unwillingness before death claimed it.
Six strikes!
Su Ran had slain a top-tier Spirit Transformation Realm beast in just six strikes!
From start to finish, it had been a one-sided slaughter.
Chen Fei stood nearby, having witnessed the entire battle. Though Su Ran had told him about her True Spirit Master-level strength, he hadn’t expected her to kill the Iron-Bone Black Bear with such ease.
“Is my wife really this terrifyingly strong now?” A chill ran through Chen Fei’s heart.
Could he even match her in a full-powered battle?
As he was still reeling from the shock, he noticed Su Ran activating her Phoenix Bloodline, beginning to absorb the beast’s essence and monster core.
In just moments, the massive, nearly one-ton bear was reduced to nothing but a black bear hide. Every last trace of spiritual energy in its blood and flesh had been devoured by the phoenix phantom surrounding Su Ran.
“As I thought, Spirit Transformation Realm beasts are of little use to me now,” Su Ran murmured, frowning slightly. The energy she had gained from refining the Iron-Bone Black Bear was disappointing.
