Very soon, the two of them arrived at Tianqing Sect.
Chen Fei stood outside the courtyard of the Tianqing Sect Master for more than an hour before Miao Yue finally brought him inside to meet Mu Yunsu, the Sect Master herself.
The moment Chen Fei saw Mu Yunsu, he was visibly surprised. The woman in front of him looked pure and graceful—how could she possibly be the esteemed leader of a Holy Land?
No wonder the Tianqing Holy Land had only ever had a Saintess but never a Saint Son. It seemed the sect had always been managed by women.
“Junior Chen Fei pays respects to the Tianqing Sect Master!” Chen Fei greeted Mu Yunsu with a bow.
Mu Yunsu looked Chen Fei up and down with curiosity. She couldn’t understand how the proud Saintess could marry someone who hadn’t even stepped into the Xuan Realm.
Indeed, in Mu Yunsu’s eyes, even someone in the early Xuan Realm was no different from a common mortal.
“Would you like to join our Tianqing Holy Land?” Mu Yunsu asked directly.
Chen Fei was slightly stunned upon hearing this and instinctively glanced at Miao Yue.
Miao Yue quickly nodded, signaling him to accept the offer.
But Chen Fei didn’t agree immediately. Instead, he cupped his fists and asked, “I wonder, Senior, what kind of position would I have in the Tianqing Holy Land?”
Tianqing Holy Land was undeniably powerful—many people dreamed of entering it regardless of the position offered.
But Chen Fei was different. If there weren’t enough benefits, why should he tie himself to a sect and follow orders?
Different ranks meant different statuses, access to resources, and benefits.
It was just like when the Qingyi of the Wanguo Chamber of Commerce recruited him and offered generous conditions—only then did he accept.
Mu Yunsu wasn’t surprised by his question. After all, she already knew that this young man was no ordinary person, and the Grand Elder had given her prior instructions.
“You may choose to become either the Grand Elder’s personal disciple or a guest elder of our Tianqing Holy Land,” she said calmly.
Becoming the Grand Elder’s personal disciple was a very prestigious honor. While it didn’t grant real power, the status was high—on par with the Six Hall Masters. In fact, many of the current Hall Masters were once the Grand Elder’s disciples.
Even Mu Yunsu herself, despite being the Sect Master, was once a personal disciple of the Grand Elder.
As for guest elders, they held a special position of respect and weren’t bound to the sect’s orders. They received fixed resources and only had one responsibility: to assist the sect in times of great crisis.
The former was full integration into the sect, while the latter was more like a cooperative relationship.
“However, the Grand Elder is currently in seclusion. Even if you become his disciple, he won’t be able to teach you in person.”
“But he did leave instructions: I can teach you on his behalf. Also, the resources you’ll receive will be five times that of a guest elder, and you’ll have greater privileges—you can freely choose any cultivation resource from the sect’s Treasury Pavilion,” Mu Yunsu explained further.
Miao Yue was dumbfounded by this point. Chen Fei’s status was about to surpass even her, the Saintess.
“My dear husband, what are you waiting for? Say yes already! Becoming the Grand Elder’s disciple is a dream opportunity!”
Chen Fei hadn’t expected such generous conditions. He only wanted to be granted the status of an official disciple.
In the Tianqing Holy Land, disciples were ranked from lowest to highest as: registered disciple, outer disciple, official disciple, and core disciple. Saintesses like Miao Yue were considered elite core disciples.
Even the Qinling Grand Elder had only ever had the title of an official disciple.
Core disciples were typically chosen from among the disciples of the Elders or Hall Masters. Only a few were promoted from official disciples.
Those under the Six Hall Masters were considered official disciples.
All others were outer disciples—the most numerous within the Holy Land.
If Chen Fei became the Grand Elder’s disciple, he would immediately gain the status of a candidate Tianqing successor—a core disciple with even greater privileges than the Saintess and other core disciples.
“I am willing to become the Grand Elder’s personal disciple!” Chen Fei didn’t hesitate—this was like a pie falling from the sky.
He understood that the Grand Elder was probably only taking him in because of Su Han’s influence.
Still, he desperately needed rare resources and a stable environment to quickly increase his strength.
Mu Yunsu had expected him to agree. After he did, she took out a token belonging to the Grand Elder’s disciples and instructed him to leave a drop of blood as an imprint. From now on, this token would be his key to entering and exiting the Tianqing Holy Land.
“Since the Grand Elder won’t be instructing you personally, you’ll temporarily stay in the Tianqing Sect. If you need anything, find Miao Yue—or you can come directly to me.”
“Go now.”
After speaking, Mu Yunsu dismissed them directly.
Chen Fei was a bit confused. Now that he was technically Mu Yunsu’s junior disciple, her cold dismissal seemed odd.
“Farewell,” he said with a bow and turned to leave.
“Miao Yue, help him choose a residence,” Mu Yunsu instructed.
“Yes, Master!” Miao Yue nodded, delighted, and followed Chen Fei.
After they left the courtyard, Miao Yue pointed toward a nearby mountain. “That’s where the core disciples of our Tianqing lineage live. As the Grand Elder’s disciple, you’ll stay there for now.”
“Come, I’ll help you pick a courtyard,” Miao Yue said, pulling Chen Fei’s hand and flying toward Shaocui Mountain.
“No rush,” Chen Fei said. “As the Grand Elder’s disciple, I need to know my privileges. I need cultivation resources to improve my strength.”
He understood that without strength, even his lofty status wouldn’t protect him from being suppressed by others in this powerful Holy Land.
“Alright, I’ll go with you to collect resources first,” Miao Yue nodded and immediately led him away from Tianqing Sect toward the Treasury Pavilion.
The Pavilion occupied its own mountain, layered with protective arrays. Only official disciples and above could set foot here.
Miao Yue taught Chen Fei how to use his identity token, and the two entered Caifu Mountain where the Pavilion was located.
“Greetings, Fourth Saintess!”
The guards at the entrance saluted Miao Yue immediately. When they saw Chen Fei, their expressions showed a hint of surprise. A boy who hadn’t even entered the Xuan Realm was now an official disciple of the Tianqing Holy Land?
“Another one of those privileged second-generation disciples.”
“Why can’t I be that lucky?”
The guards murmured in their hearts, feeling a little bitter. They were all strong cultivators themselves—at the early stages of the Xuan Realm—yet still had not attained the status of official disciples. Their current positions were merely due to their duties.
