The accusation of being a demonic cultivator was heavy, but it wasn’t entirely solid.
However, for those targeting Chen Fei, whether the accusation held up didn’t matter much — what mattered was directing suspicion at him.
Moreover, Chen Fei had two identities and progressed rapidly within the secret realm. That alone stirred controversy.
A genius?
Could someone truly be that much of a genius?
Unless he was a disciple of a Holy Land!
But he wasn’t.
Long Qingchuang was no fool. An old fox who had seen much of the world, he knew exactly how these things worked. But that wasn’t the point.
He came here to find out — whether or not the person before him was from a Holy Land. If not, then Chen Fei must harbor an extraordinary secret.
“Little Brother Chen Fei, since there are questions, let’s clear things up,” Long Qingchuang said casually.
“I’m quite curious — where do you come from?”
His tone was light, but the vast aura surrounding him was like a sea of stars — the oppressive force of a peak Dao Realm expert was no joke.
For Chen Fei, who had only just stepped into the half-step Dao Realm, Long Qingchuang was like a towering mountain, impossible to climb. The gap between them was simply too vast.
When Long Qingchuang spoke, Chen Fei immediately understood that this old man was no kind soul. His only option to escape this situation was to claim he was a disciple from a Holy Land.
But just saying it wasn’t enough — no one would believe it without proof.
After a moment’s thought, Chen Fei said, “Senior Long, my master instructed me not to reveal my identity during my training period, so I ask for your understanding.”
“However,” he continued, “my master also told me that if I was ever in true danger, he would appear personally to save me.”
As he spoke, Chen Fei summoned the Axe-type Soul Armament from within his spiritual sea and said, “This was gifted to me by my master for self-defense!”
Long Qingchuang glanced at the weapon and gave a slight smile. He didn’t believe Chen Fei’s explanation for a second.
Still, Chen Fei was unusual. His cultivation progressed too quickly. Claiming to be a Holy Land disciple wasn’t entirely unreasonable.
“I’ve long admired the Holy Lands,” Long Qingchuang said. “In fact, the ancestor of Qinling originated from one.”
“If Little Brother Chen Fei truly is a disciple of a Holy Land, then this is wonderful news. The ancestor will be delighted.”
“So, I ask you to accompany me back to Qinling. We will surely treat you with full respect.”
He neither confirmed nor denied Chen Fei’s identity. Instead, using the excuse of hospitality and a reunion with the ancestor, he made it clear he intended to take Chen Fei away.
“Please, Little Brother.”
With those words, he gave Chen Fei no chance to refuse.
Chen Fei’s face darkened. This wasn’t a polite invitation — this was clearly coercion.
“Senior Long!”
At that moment, Vice Dean Sun Qianyi of Silver Moon Academy hurriedly stepped forward.
To a peak Dao Realm master like Long Qingchuang, a mere Fifth-Rank Spirit Master from a small academy was hardly worth acknowledging.
Just as someone from Qinling was about to rebuke him, Sun Qianyi took out a token and respectfully presented it, saying, “Senior Long, our Dean will be arriving shortly. He’ll speak with you personally.”
Long Qingchuang’s expression shifted slightly upon seeing the token. He looked at Sun Qianyi with renewed interest.
“He’s from your Confucian Garden?”
“Senior, I’m just a low-ranking member. I don’t know the details. But our Dean surely does — he is an outer disciple of the Ancestral Land,” Sun Qianyi replied with a smile.
“Very well.”
“Out of respect for the Confucian Garden, I’ll wait for your Dean to arrive,” Long Qingchuang said with a nod.
Soon, Lu Hengshi and State Guardian General Yuan Tong rushed to the Su Family at top speed.
The Su Family was used to hosting powerful figures, so they didn’t dare stop them.
“Senior Long, apologies for the delay,” Lu Hengshi said as he arrived. Despite being a Dao Realm expert and one of the most powerful figures in Daqing, even he had to speak respectfully to the elder from Qinling.
“Is Chen Fei from your Confucian Garden?” Long Qingchuang asked directly.
“Yes!” Lu Hengshi answered without hesitation. He had already received a message from the Ancestral Land, instructing him to bring Chen Fei back.
“Whose disciple is he?” Long Qingchuang followed up.
“He is the personal disciple of one of our granduncles. Here is his token,” Lu Hengshi replied, handing over the token bestowed earlier by the Ancestral Land.
Long Qingchuang examined the token and nodded. He recognized the person who had issued it.
“The token is authentic. So Chen Fei is his disciple.” Long Qingchuang smiled slightly.
Just when everyone thought the matter was resolved, Long Qingchuang suddenly said, “Go back and tell your granduncle that I, Long Qingchuang, am taking his disciple to Qinling. He’s welcome to come retrieve him himself.”
“Senior Long…” Lu Hengshi’s expression changed slightly.
“You think I’m a fool?” Long Qingchuang snorted.
“You expect me to beliesmiledr Confucian Garden raised such a monstrous talent? If that were the case, you’d already control this region instead of us.”
“If he’s really yours, then have your ancestor come to Qinling in person. Only then will I release him.” He tossed the token back to Lu Hengshi.
“Are you declaring war on our Confucian Garden?” Lu Hengshi asked coldly. While their Ancestral Land was somewhat weaker than Qinling, they were not afraid.
“War?”
Long Qingchuang sneered. “If your Confucian Garden is willing to go to war over this boy, be my guest.”
“This kid is suspicious. He’s hiding too much. As the overseer of this region, it is our duty to get to the bottom of this.
If a powerful demonic cultivator emerges one day, who will take responsibility?”
“And what if I refuse to go?” Chen Fei’s voice turned icy — he was done being pushed around.
“You don’t have that right!” Long Qingchuang snapped.
His martial spirit surged, Dao energy twisted into invisible chains that instantly bound Chen Fei, sealing his power completely.
Such was the overwhelming difference between them.
Sun Qianyi tried to step forward, but Lu Hengshi held him back.
“Senior Long, I’ll report today’s events to the sect,” Lu Hengshi said helplessly. He hadn’t expected Long Qingchuang to ignore even the Ancestral Land’s authority.
Bound and powerless, Chen Fei tried to resist again and again, even activating the Void Cauldron, but nothing worked. He couldn’t break free from the Dao power restraining him.
Without a second glance, Long Qingchuang took Chen Fei and the Qinling group and turned to leave.
