“A Fourth-Grade True Spirit Master is no longer a threat!”
Su Ran spoke with a smile, not hiding anything.
Hearing this, Chen Fei felt an inexplicable weight settle in his heart.
Su Ran had already possessed such strength before coming here. However, after absorbing and refining so many soul essences, her power had not increased at all.
And the reason for all this was that Su Ran had done it to save him. Even though he hadn’t needed any rescue, she had misunderstood the situation.
“Let’s check out the grand hall. There should be some opportunities inside,” Chen Fei said, striding ahead and pushing open the door to the grand hall.
Inside, there was no danger.
Under the keen perception of the Spirit Cat, the hall appeared vast and empty, except for a single statue standing at its center, as if declaring its ownership of this place to future visitors.
The statue depicted a man clad in battle armor, wielding a massive axe, his gaze lifted toward the distance as if searching for something.
Su Ran soon followed and looked at the axe-wielding man, murmuring, “There’s no danger here. Either an inherited secret technique or an inherited treasure has been placed here.”
Chen Fei was surprised. According to his Spirit Cat’s perception, there was nothing in this hall besides the statue. Where was this supposed inheritance?
Seeing through his thoughts, Su Ran smiled and said, “The inheritance of predecessors must be approached with proper etiquette. Go ahead.”
Realizing what she meant, Chen Fei stepped forward, stopping three meters away from the statue, and bowed respectfully.
However, nothing happened.
“Be more sincere,” Su Ran reminded him.
For the sake of the inherited secret technique or treasure, Chen Fei decided to go all in. He immediately dropped to his knees and performed a full kowtow ritual.
Suddenly, as he finished bowing, the floor beneath the statue emitted a low hum, and a beautifully crafted box emerged from below.
Chen Fei was overjoyed. Su Ran was right—there really was an opportunity here.
He picked up the box and opened it in front of Su Ran.
As the lid lifted, a faint spiritual aura wafted out. Inside, there truly was a treasure—a seal.
“This is…?” Chen Fei’s eyes lit up in excitement.
The seal’s material was unknown, and its surface was covered in intricate flowing runes, giving it an aura of natural harmony.
Chen Fei picked it up and examined its base, where four large characters were engraved—Qiankun Jie Fa (Heaven and Earth Borrowing Law).
“Wife, is this a spiritual artifact?” Chen Fei asked while handing the seal to Su Ran. Given her vast knowledge, she might recognize its origins.
“This is not a spiritual artifact.” Su Ran took the seal, examined it briefly, and said, “This is an inherited treasure. It contains a complete combat technique imprint and belongs to an axe-wielding spiritual weapon. However, its exact tier remains unknown.”
“Is it useful to you?” Chen Fei asked.
“I don’t need a spiritual weapon, and honestly, this item is useless to most people today,” Su Ran shook her head.
“An inherited treasure that most people can’t use? Does that mean the inheritance is impossible for ordinary people to learn?” Chen Fei was surprised.
They had gone through so much to reach this opportunity. If it turned out to be completely useless, wouldn’t that be a waste?
“An axe-wielding spiritual weapon is beneficial to those who cultivate axe techniques and possess a corresponding martial spirit,” Su Ran explained.
“However, to awaken it, one needs an incredibly strong bloodline inheritance. Finding someone who meets both conditions is exceedingly rare.”
Chen Fei felt a little disappointed. He had bowed and paid respects to an unknown figure, only to receive an inheritance he couldn’t even use.
“You can try dripping your blood on it to see if it recognizes you,” Su Ran suggested.
“If it doesn’t work, just keep it. The materials of this spiritual weapon are quite valuable. In the future, it could be reforged into your own life-bound spiritual treasure.”
Encouraged by her words, Chen Fei nodded. He pricked his finger and let his blood drip onto the axe-wielding spiritual weapon.
The blood was instantly absorbed, and a wisp of blue smoke rose with a faint sizzling sound.
Beyond that, there was no reaction.
“It didn’t work. It doesn’t recognize you,” Su Ran stated before he could say anything.
Chen Fei had expected as much. He was merely a True Spirit Master, not a Combat Spirit Master, let alone one specializing in axe techniques.
Moreover, the treasure required a powerful bloodline inheritance, something he lacked.
Even his Phoenix-related abilities came from Su Ran’s bloodline, which had helped him awaken the Flame Rebirth talent, strengthening his body and spirit.
Chen Fei tried a few more times, but the seal only absorbed his blood and released a puff of smoke without acknowledging him. Eventually, he could only sigh and put it away.
After confirming that there were no other opportunities in the hall, Chen Fei and Su Ran left. They then passed through a swirling vortex and emerged in the time-space domain of the secret realm’s fifth layer—a place that everyone yearned to reach.
The moment they arrived, the first thing they noticed was the overwhelming richness of the spiritual energy, nearly on par with the spirit mine from the first layer.
Beyond that, what caught their eyes were countless rare and precious herbs growing in abundance. This place looked like an invaluable medicinal garden.
Seeing this, Chen Fei was overcome with excitement.
With so many priceless herbs, wouldn’t it be possible for him and Su Ran to freely use this opportunity to enhance their cultivation and strength?
“We’re rich!”
He exclaimed as he moved to pick some of the rare herbs.
“Chen Fei, wait,” Su Ran quickly stopped him and explained, “We can only take three items from this place.”
“So, don’t just grab anything. We need to select the three most suitable treasures.”
“Once we’ve taken three items, we’ll be expelled from this place and sent back to the third-layer time-space domain.”
Chen Fei froze, staring at her in disbelief. “We can only take three?”
“Of course. Otherwise, who would come to this secret realm in the future?” Su Ran found his greedy expression both amusing and exasperating.
“The fundamental purpose of a secret realm is for its creator to spread their inheritance,” she explained.
“So, we should first take advantage of the dense spiritual energy here to cultivate before selecting the most valuable treasures.”
Su Ran had a clear plan.
Chen Fei, however, looked a little disappointed. Although the spiritual energy here was rich, it no longer held much appeal for him.
The Void Sky Cauldron was picky, and the purity of this spiritual energy was no better than that of the first-layer spirit mine. It was no longer useful to him.
Su Ran, on the other hand, had no such concerns. After instructing him on the best approach, she immediately summoned her Phoenix phantom and began cultivating using the abundant energy around her.
