Volume 2 + Chapter 9: Hero Saves The Beauty
“Bastards! What the hell are you doing?!”
A foot suddenly slammed into the face of the man pinning Ning Caiwei down, sending him flying in a perfect parabolic arc.
“Huh?” Slowly opening her eyes, Ning Caiwei saw thousands of golden strands fluttering before her—standing in front of her was none other than Ouyang Qianxue.
“Wh-why… are you…?” Tears welled up in Ning Caiwei’s eyes as she gazed at the golden-haired girl before her.
“Goddammit, that hurts!” The kicked man clutched his face as he struggled to get up.
“Ugh!” The moment he stood, he spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva—mixed in were two teeth.
“Boss, are you okay?” The other two thugs hurriedly helped him up.
“You bitch! You knocked out two of my teeth! I’ll make you pay for this!” The man roared as he lifted his head, but the moment he saw Ouyang Qianxue’s face, he froze. The golden-haired girl before him was so stunning that he momentarily forgot the pain of losing two teeth.
“Oh? Thought it was some heroic rescue, but turns out another pretty face delivered herself to us. You’re even cuter than that idol—shame about the chest, though.” The man’s lecherous gaze raked over Ouyang Qianxue’s body.
“Disgusting. You dare set your sights on me too?” Ouyang Qianxue looked at him with utter contempt.
“Disgusting? You’ve got some nerve insulting me after kicking my teeth out. I’ll make sure you regret this so badly, you’ll wish you were never born!”
With that, the man lunged at her. Ouyang Qianxue sidestepped effortlessly, then hooked her right foot around his ankle, sending him face-first into the ground.
“Careful! She’s got skills!” The other two thugs tensed up, watching their boss get taken down so easily.
“Let’s rush her together—no way she can handle both of us!”
The two lackeys charged at her. Ouyang Qianxue stepped forward, delivering a side kick that sent the first one crashing into a nearby trash bin. The second swung a punch at her face, aiming to exploit the moment she retracted her leg—but she slid aside, dodging cleanly before spinning into a reverse kick that struck the back of his head, knocking him out cold.
“Are you okay?” Ouyang Qianxue extended a hand to Ning Caiwei, who was still sitting on the ground.
“I’m fi—LOOK OUT!” Ning Caiwei’s eyes widened as she spotted the first man, now recovered, lunging at Ouyang Qianxue from behind.
The thug locked his arms around her from the back.
“Got you now! Let’s see you move!” he sneered.
“Hey! While she’s pinned, hit her a few times—make her behave!” he shouted to his accomplice, who was still crawling out of the trash heap.
The trash-covered thug shook off his daze and rushed forward, fist aimed at Ouyang Qianxue’s stomach.
Yet she remained utterly calm. With a sharp backward kick, her heel smashed into the face of the man restraining her, sending him crumpling to the ground. The remaining thug panicked, grabbing a broken wooden plank from the garbage and swinging it at her head.
Ouyang Qianxue didn’t even flinch. Her foot shattered the plank mid-swing and connected with his face, sending him flying like a snapped kite string.
“Th-that was… so cool! Amazing!” Ning Caiwei gasped in awe.
“Heh heh ╰(´︶`)╯”
Ouyang Qianxue immediately brightened at the praise—after all, since cross-dressing, this was the first time someone had called him handsome. The thrill of playing the hero filled him with satisfaction… until Ning Caiwei’s next words nearly made him stumble.
“B-but… you kept kicking so much, your skirt flipped up a little…”
“Wha—?!” Ouyang Qianxue hastily yanked down his skirt. In the heat of the moment, he’d completely forgotten he was wearing the summer uniform’s short skirt.
(Oh no! Did she see anything? If my gender gets exposed…!)
But Ning Caiwei’s follow-up comment made his heart settle back down.
“You’re so weird. We’re both girls—what’s there to be shy about? Though, seriously, your taste is awful. Who wears sports shorts under a skirt?” Ning Caiwei wiped her tears, giggling.
“None of your business. I like them.”
“But… Thank you. Really.” The next second, Ning Caiwei hugged him tightly.
“I was… so scared. If those bastards had… I wouldn’t have had the courage to keep living.” Her voice cracked as she started crying again.
“I’m sorry. This is all my fault. I caused you so much trouble trying to steal your ‘School Belle’ title, and now I dragged you into danger. Someone like me… is just disgusting.”
“It’s okay. It’s over now.” Ouyang Qianxue patted her back gently.
“But why were you in such a deserted place? If that old scavenger at the alley entrance hadn’t told me, I might not have found you.”
“I heard there was a nice café nearby… I wanted to calm my nerves.”
“Oh, that place? I go there too. Let’s head over together. As for these scumbags…” He glanced at the three unconscious men.
He wanted to call the police, but he feared the scandal might ruin Ning Caiwei’s idol career. Instead, he walked over to the only one still conscious and pressed his foot against the man’s face.
“If I ever see you again, I won’t hold back.” With that, he led Ning Caiwei out of the alley.
“I’ll remember you. Just wait—I’ll make you pay!” The man snarled, glaring at Ouyang Qianxue’s retreating figure. He recognized the uniform—it was from Sakura High.
“Fine, I can’t beat you in a fight… but next time, I’ll just drug you. Then—” His train of thought derailed as he recalled Ouyang Qianxue’s delicate features, his face twisting into a perverted grin.
“Then what?”
A cold voice cut in from behind. The man whipped around to see a tall, long-haired youth with icy eyes looming over him.
“I knew that naive idiot wouldn’t report this for Ning Caiwei’s sake. But I’m different.” Bai Yuxuan snapped his fingers. “You lot—get to work.”
Several men in sunglasses stepped forward.
“Young Master, your orders?”
“Make them understand true fear. Make them realize that girl is beyond their reach. And since they can’t control their lust…”
Bai Yuxuan pulled a pair of pliers from her coat and handed them to the men in sunglasses.
“…fix that for them.”
The alley soon echoed with screams.
