/Big Goblin: A mutated species of goblin capable of wielding weapons. It is a mid-low level monster with powerful attacking abilities. It possesses a quick temper, demonstrates fierce and violent behavior, and harbors a strong mating drive. It typically breeds with normal goblins, and the offspring may become Big Goblins.
——
Remarkably strong… Though its overall attributes are lower than the saber-toothed bear’s, its strength actually surpasses it.
And it can wield weapons! Moreover, that “Strike” skill is particularly intriguing.
It appears to be a skill that synergizes well with the weapon it holds.
If that massive wooden club strikes down…
Heavens, how could anyone stand against such a creature!
There are also some peculiar notes at the end… um… something about certain drives… although I’d rather not know about such matters, I couldn’t help glimpsing it.
What did you glimpse?
Ah, an elephant’s trunk?
I apologize, but it was simply too conspicuous; anyone would notice it first! It’s not my fault!
Still, if it’s that substantial, how could it possibly compare to an ordinary goblin… Oh my! I must stop thinking about this; if I continue, it won’t remain pure! I-I haven’t become impure!
…
While Lin Yu recalled the reconnaissance Weak Ants, she also instructed the Weak Ants inside the cave to swiftly transport more meat pieces into the ant nest.
She observed the goblin group intently while examining them one by one.
Apart from the Big Goblin, the other goblins were of rank None, with levels ranging between LV.5 and LV.10.
These common goblins also wielded wooden clubs or stone axes, and some even carried crude wooden spears.
In single combat, besides the two D Qualification Weak Ants, the other Weak Ants likely couldn’t overcome these ordinary goblins.
Their only option was to devise a way to lure them into the ant nest.
Within such confined underground tunnels, these goblins would struggle to utilize their weapons effectively.
As for the Big Goblin?
Hmm…
Well…
Victory seemed impossible. That creature was simply too powerful!
Their sole hope rested with the yet-to-hatch Military Ants. Born for combat! They must possess tremendous strength!
Fortunately, most of the meat had already been relocated inside.
However, due to the increased ant population, the food supply that would have lasted several months would likely only sustain them for less than one month now.
Yet Lin Yu didn’t intend for the ant colony to remain perpetually in the nest.
She planned to focus on nurturing the Military Ants with these meat pieces after they hatched, and when the moment was right, confront the goblins.
Additionally, thanks to the Worker Ants, they could even excavate a path from the ant nest to the outside of the stone cave.
This time, they wouldn’t face the situation of being “blocked at the door” as before.
The ant colony could attack when necessary and defend when required.
The goblin group across from them faced different circumstances. With few large prey in the area, they would likely be the first to encounter a food crisis!
Hah, if they grew desperately hungry, they might simply flee! But if they persisted in challenging the ant swarm, they could be eliminated one by one!
Viewed this way, there truly was nothing to fear!
…
Just as Lin Yu contemplated her battle strategy, the goblin group reached the small hill beneath the stone cave.
The Big Goblin raised its goat-like eyes toward the stone cave before turning to a regular goblin.
“Gah-ba?”
“Gah-ba gah-ba!”
The small goblin leader who had previously fled communicated something to the Big Goblin, and with a “Gah-ba” from the Big Goblin, the goblin group proceeded to climb the small hill toward the stone cave.
At that moment, within the stone cave, all edible portions of the Granville Wolf and Long-Toothed Brown Bear had been transported into the ant nest by the Weak Ants and Worker Ants, except for the goblin corpses.
The ingredients were nearly overflowing in the newly constructed chamber.
When the goblins entered the cave, they witnessed the final Weak Ant carrying wolf entrails into the ant nest.
Simultaneously, they discovered the bodies of their fallen companions.
“Gak!!”
Following a thunderous roar from the Big Goblin, all goblins screeched and charged forward.
Upon reaching the ant nest entrance, they attempted to force their way in simultaneously.
Though the width of the ant nest entrance sufficed for goblin entry, the height restriction forced them to crawl inside.
Indeed, they were entering the ant nest one after another on their hands and knees.
They could climb, but their pace couldn’t match the ants’, and due to the entrance’s limited size, only two could enter at once.
…
These creatures proved even more foolish than anticipated…
I expected them to at least attempt enlarging the entrance. Given their small size, they could have expanded the ant tunnel while exploring inside.
Such action would certainly have caused complications, like injuries to the ants they encountered, or tunnel collapse due to their movements…
But now, heh heh.
They shall pay dearly!
Just as the two leading goblins eagerly crawled forward, two Weak Ants suddenly emerged with rapid footsteps.
Bite
Accompanied by a subtle white gleam from their mandibles, the two Class D Weak Ants swiftly severed their necks.
After all, these two Class D Weak Ants represented the colony’s strongest members.
The rankless goblins stood no chance against their “bite” skill.
The two goblins’ health instantly dropped to zero.
Lin Yu noticed the experience bars of the two Class D Weak Ants barely increased.
Eliminating significantly lower-level monsters apparently contributed little to their advancement, at least regarding individual kills.
The two Class D Weak Ants dragged the fallen goblins’ bodies backward.
Then, two rankless Weak Ants accepted the corpses and transported them into the ant nest.
Just as Lin Yu prepared to direct them to engage the next pair of crawling goblins.
She observed the goblins finally realizing their disadvantage in the narrow passage, as their bodies began retreating steadily.
Attempting escape?
Hmph, too late for that!
The two Class D Weak Ants struck far more swiftly than the goblins could withdraw.
After dispatching four more goblins similarly, the surviving goblins had fully withdrawn from the ant nest.
Lin Yu regretted not waiting for more goblins to advance further before launching the attack.
That strategy would have resulted in additional goblin casualties.
Once the goblins had completely retreated, Lin Yu observed the Big Goblin standing outside the ant nest through the Weak Ant’s vision.
It appeared furious, holding its massive wooden club high above.
Lin Yu sensed impending danger and promptly ordered the two Class D Weak Ants to withdraw.
In the instant following their retreat.
Boom—
A wooden club crashed down, instantly collapsing half the ant nest entrance.
The interior passage also shuddered violently from the impact.
Had the Worker Ants not previously reinforced the passage, this strike might have caused its complete collapse.
