Chapter 185: The Next Candidate for Humanization
To enable Lvzi’s entry into the town, we must bestow upon her two essential skills – "Disguise" and "Proficient in all Languages". The "Disguise" skill proves indispensable to prevent her Ant identity from being exposed through the human race’s Identification spells or magic artifacts with Identification properties.
After consulting with Red Pupil and Magic Rainbow, we’ve devised a plan for Lvzi to assume the guise of a Class B mid-level adventurer from the human race. This strategy serves dual purposes:
Firstly, her elevated rank would allow her to accept numerous commissions and complete them swiftly without raising suspicion, thereby accelerating her Adventurer Level progression while simultaneously enhancing Army Lady’s reputation as her sponsor.
Secondly, our reconnaissance indicates Aowenduo Town currently lacks any Class B mid-level human residents apart from the Guild President. By presenting Lvzi as such, she’s likely to attract the town lord’s attention. Establishing rapport with the nobility could potentially secure special permissions from both the guild and lord to waive the individual purchase restrictions on Magic Recovery Potions.
Regarding the approach to befriend the town lord… Magic Rainbow and I have conceived a preliminary scheme, though its execution must await Army Lady and Lvzi’s fuller integration into town society.
The "Proficient in all Languages" skill remains equally crucial for human interaction. While possession could theoretically circumvent this necessity, such methods prove overly cumbersome. Occupying my daughter’s form would leave my primary body unattended, not to mention… I suspect Lvzi’s consciousness might prove particularly… vocal during such possessions.
Having reached my decision, I resumed consuming the Magic Recovery Potions. My current standing at Class A, Level 3 suggests a minimum of ten days before advancing further, particularly without Army Lady and Red Pupil – our primary Class A monster hunters.
Army Lady remains occupied in distant Aowenduo Town, while Red Pupil… well, she’s with child now. Carrying my offspring! Since she’s rendered such invaluable service, she deserves proper rest during this period. Don’t worry dear, Mother will take excellent care of you!
The absence of our two principal hunters will undoubtedly slow our experience acquisition through finishing weakened monsters. Level-based Magic Value accumulation progresses too sluggishly – a fortnight’s worth of Magic Recovery Potions could replenish far more than gradual advancement.
Naturally, continuous consumption remains impractical. Even with lifted restrictions, the combined stock of all Aowenduo’s Apothecaries might only restore my Magic Value a dozen times over.
Returning to our primary concern: The Magic Recovery Potions procured from Manfel’s Apothecary should suffice for two complete Magic Value restorations.
The first reserve shall empower Lvzi with the aforementioned skills. As for the second… perhaps we might initiate another daughter’s transformation. Or better yet, why not humanize two at once?
The current candidates are… Little Tear, Stealth One, Magic Rainbow, Weak Sound, Worker Liquor, Purple Cloud, Purple Mist, Darkling Stalker.
I plan to grant them the "Transformation" ability first.
As for the other ants, they’ll have to wait their turn… such is the way of things…
Chronologically speaking, Little Tear and Stealth One were the first to be born, so they shall receive their gifts first.
Little Tear would likely cry if denied, and while Stealth One might not shed tears, her heart would surely ache in silence.
For the remaining six, their first blessing shouldn’t be "Transformation" but rather the "Immortality" skill… though it does feel rather overpowered.
Come to think of it… even without egg-laying considerations, I still need to bestow "Immortality" upon my other A and B Qualification daughters. Useful abilities like "Magnification," "Identification," "Dispel," "Defense Enhancement," and "Magic Backpack" also await distribution.
When I consider all this, our Magic Value reserves seem perpetually insufficient…
…
Sipping the foul-tasting blue Magic Recovery Potion, Lin Yu idly shifted her gaze among her daughters.
Worker Liquor was tending herbs and fruit trees in the Herb Garden.
Through recent hunting expeditions and nourishment from Class A Monster flesh, she’d advanced to high Class C.
Beyond standard skills like "Attack Enhancement" and "Charge," she’d acquired both "Magical Soil" and "Special Mucus" – a rare feat, as ordinary Worker Ants typically master only one of these.
Among all Worker Ants, Worker Liquor now stood at the pinnacle, being the sole A Qualification worker amidst her C Qualification and lower sisters.
Consequently, her "Special Mucus" proved most potent.
Before hunts, some sisters sought her out to apply the protective coating.
At her current level, Special Mucus granted 3-5 points of both Physical Resistance Ability and elemental magic resistance ability.
Despite the skill’s effectiveness, Little Liquor appeared reluctant to administer it to others.
When questioned, she confessed finding the saliva-based application distasteful… her fastidious nature showing. If only Lvzi would adopt such cleanliness…
Though… what if she used this ability in human race form? Applying saliva over another’s entire body would require…
Bizarre visions flooded her mind.
Shaking off the disturbing imagery, Lin Yu observed her other daughters.
While Worker Liquor occasionally remained in the nest tending the Herb Garden, the others continued their relentless leveling through hunting.
Magic Rainbow had progressed to low Class B, acquiring the "Magic Master" skill.
"Magic Master": Mastery of arcane arts, enhancing magical efficacy and amplifying all magic-related abilities.
Much like how "Sword Talent" evolves into "Swordsmanship Master," this appeared to be an advanced form of "Talent of Magic."
Upon gaining "Magic Master," she spontaneously learned two spells: "Fireball" and "Waterball."
Though these spells didn’t register as formal skills – remaining slow and weak initially – persistent practice showed gradual improvements in both power and casting speed.
Even unlisted as skills, these spells still drained Magic Value with each use.
Thus, between personal needs and spell practice, Magic Rainbow’s Magic Value demands grew substantial.
The other B Qualification Demonic Ants reached high Class C, yet none displayed Magic Rainbow’s intuitive grasp of magic.
