Chapter 175: Adventurer Level Up
"It seems Mother won’t be possessing you permanently anymore."
Stealth One’s voice chimed in.
"I know. No need to remind me."
Though the tone was calm, Army Lady couldn’t shake the feeling that Stealth One was gloating.
These Stealth Ants were truly insufferable.
Still… being possessed by Mother, sharing a body with her—such an intimate act was something Mother had only ever done with her!
Not even Sister Red Pupil had been granted that privilege!
The thought instantly lifted Army Lady’s spirits.
She donned her silver-plated light armor and pushed open the door to step outside.
"What are you planning?"
"To complete the remaining three collection commissions."
Downstairs, the shopkeeper at the counter greeted her with a warm smile.
After a brief pause, Army Lady returned the smile.
…
With the "Proficient in all Languages" skill now in her possession, she could finally understand—and speak—the tongue of the human race.
As she walked through the streets outside the inn, Army Lady carefully tuned her ears to the chatter between pedestrians and market vendors, confirming this newfound ability.
Her first stop was the client who’d posted the "Commission: Collect Yellow Boar Tusks and Fur."
This particular client happened to be the owner of another Armor Store besides Wali’s.
Much like Wali, the shopkeeper marveled at the exceptional quality of the boar materials and offered the maximum price listed on the Commission Order.
After handing over the tusks and fur from her dimensional storage and collecting her payment, Army Lady proceeded to the next client.
The realization that she could now converse naturally with the human race—without drawing suspicion—brought her visible relief.
The remaining two commissions were:
"Commission: Collect goblin artifacts"
"Commission: Procure fresh mountain deer meat"
Both requests came from restaurant proprietors.
Army Lady first approached the establishment that had posted the goblin artifacts commission.
"A… female adventurer?"
The manager sounded mildly astonished.
"Well, since you’re here, I take it you’ve completed the commission?"
"Naturally."
The golden-haired maiden gave a firm nod while scanning the dining area.
"Where should I place the goblin items?"
"Ah, please come with me."
So they followed the shopkeeper to the back kitchen.
All the goblin items were taken out from the extradimensional space at once.
Unspeakable objects clattered onto the cutting board, piling up into a small mound.
"Th-this many?!"
Now the shopkeeper wasn’t just surprised – his face showed complete astonishment.
When his gaze returned to the golden-haired girl, he inexplicably felt a chill running down his lower body.
"Where… where did you find so many goblins…"
"Granville Monster Forest. Why do you ask?"
"N-no reason, just curious…"
It seemed the nearby villages would be free from goblin disturbances for quite some time… the man thought silently.
"So, does this complete the commission?"
"Ahem, absolutely."
The shopkeeper nodded and began counting the items.
One hundred pieces in total.
She received a reward of ten silver coins.
Then she left for the next restaurant to deliver another commissioned item – fresh mountain deer meat.
Again, she received her payment.
With five commissions now completed, it was time to report to the guild.
Upon arriving at the Adventurer’s Guild, she pushed the door open and entered.
"Ah! Sister Army Lady!"
Coincidentally, the trio of youths were standing at the counter. When Sally spotted Army Lady, she immediately approached.
"We haven’t seen you in days! What brings you to the guild, Sister Army Lady?"
"I came to report my commission results."
The Army Lady they knew probably wasn’t me… but Mother, right?
Being greeted so familiarly by Sally gave Army Lady slightly complicated feelings.
"Huh? You seem… different from before somehow."
Shouldn’t her tone and expression be much colder?
"D-different? Me?"
"Must be your imagination, Sally. After all, it’s been several days since we last saw Sister Army Lady."
Just then, the boy Mayer came striding over confidently.
Will followed close behind him.
"We’ve submitted our commission report. Now it’s Sister Army Lady’s turn."
Will greeted Army Lady before continuing.
"Yes."
Army Lady nodded and approached the counter.
"Good afternoon, Army Lady,"
said Miss Elena, the same clerk we’d met earlier.
"Nasha mentioned you’d accepted five Class D Collection Commissions?"
"Correct."
Army Lady confirmed with a nod.
"Well, she is Class C after all,"
chimed in one of the three teenagers who had gathered around.
"Indeed,"
Elena smiled warmly.
"Which commission would you like to report today?"
"One moment."
Army Lady retrieved five Commission Orders from her dimensional storage and handed them to Elena.
Each bore the client’s signature and evaluation in the lower right corner – proof of successful completion.
"You completed all five?"
Elena’s eyebrows rose.
"Yes."
The subsequent report included mission duration, locations, procedures, and client feedback.
As Army Lady concluded, Elena finished her documentation.
"Remarkable,"
the clerk murmured appreciatively.
"Completing five Collection Commissions in mere days – including that red fruit gathering mission requiring sheer luck – and receiving perfect satisfaction from all five clients?"
Her smile widened.
"These all qualify for perfect evaluations."
The Adventurer’s Guild rates performance on a scale: Poor, Acceptable, Good, Excellent, and Perfect.
Both extremes are uncommon – one disastrous, the other extraordinary.
Poor ratings severely hinder advancement, while perfect evaluations accelerate progression.
"Incredible!"
"Only Sister Army Lady could achieve perfect ratings so effortlessly!"
The trio cheered enthusiastically.
Suddenly animated, Sally pressed against the counter, eyes sparkling.
"Miss! Remember we recommended Army Lady for membership!"
"You did splendidly,"
Elena acknowledged.
"But… you know…"
The girl wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.
"Ah, of course,"
Elena laughed, tweaking Sally’s nose.
"An excellent Class D rating for each recommender."
Recommendation benefits include upgraded evaluations when protégés excel.
Elena recorded the new ratings in their Adventurer IDs before returning Army Lady’s document.
"With five perfect Class D commissions, you qualify for promotion from E-class to D-class,"
Elena announced.
Normally such advancements required guildmaster approval, but in the absent Guild President’s stead, Elena held this authority.
