Chapter 7: Getting Along
Hua Qing turned around, exuding a chilly demeanor, he calmly looked at Cancan, who was twisting her clothes, smiling, "Well, this is a bit tricky."
Cancan couldn’t dress herself, she drew circles on the ground with her toes, trying to act natural, sneaking a glance at Hua Qing, somehow she felt Hua Qing was a bit downbeat, this kind of person as a leader wouldn’t be good. No wonder when she was at Shu Mountain, she often saw people from Shu Mountain looking resentful and unhappy all the time, well, having such a leader, how could they live happily. So miserable!
Hua Qing gazed at Cancan, her dark long hair flowing on her shoulders, she had put on the dress, but hadn’t tied it up, just holding the hem with her hands, not showing anything, but emitting a bit of silliness.

Hua Qing chuckled, "It’s impressive that you thought of so many four-character idioms."
Cancan felt praised and proudly said, "I am intelligent."
"Ha ha!" Hua Qing grabbed her hair and found a comb from somewhere to start combing her hair. Although Hua Qing seemed clever, his skills… were not quite there. Cancan cried out as he pulled her hair, too scared to resist, tears welling up, "You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?"
Hua Qing pursed his lips and whispered, "Be quiet." He seemed a bit annoyed, but Cancan continued to cry out in pain. She wasn’t going to give up, even if it hurt.
As Cancan’s cries got louder, Hua Qing’s lips tightened. Finally, he said, "Enough."
Cancan finally escaped from his clutches, jumping three feet high. Feeling upset, she crouched under a nearby tree, tears welling in her eyes, glaring accusingly at Hua Qing.
Hua Qing suddenly coughed, then looked up at the sky, then down at the ground… but didn’t look at Cancan.
Cancan couldn’t hold back anymore, "Hua Qing, as a fairy, shouldn’t you say something?"
Hua Qing coughed once, but said nothing.
"How could a fairy like you be so clueless? Look at what you made me go through. You are mean, petty, and not a good person. If you make me bald, I’ll fight you." Cancan ranted angrily.
Hua Qing sighed and said, "Do you want to go to town?"
Cancan’s eyes widened in delight. She jumped up and grabbed Hua Qing’s arm, saying, "Yes, I do!"
Hua Qing replied, "Then let’s go."
Cancan nodded eagerly, but as she glanced at the water, she froze. Hua Qing, realizing she was confused, kindly told her, "The person in there is you."
Cancan quickly nodded, saying, "I know that." She touched her face, then her hair, and happily remarked, "I look so beautiful, right?"
Cancan wore a dress in a lake blue color, her long hair was tied up into a beautiful bun, giving her a fairy-like appearance. She felt amazed by her own beauty and although it was painful, she would not refuse a chance to look this way again.
"When I was on the mountain, I often saw people from Shu Mountain dressed like you. At that time, I thought to myself, when I become human, I want to dress like that too, it looks so nice." Cancan said happily.
Hua Qing ignored her and asked, "Are you coming or not?"
Cancan hurriedly replied, "Yes, I’m coming."
Cancan realized that she hadn’t seen much of the world even though she had lived for five hundred years and never left Shu Mountain. She felt scared at the thought of leaving the mountain, even though Big Wolf next door often mentioned how exciting the outside world was, but also how difficult it could be.
The word ‘difficult’ sounded terrifying to Cancan. Big Wolf, who could transform into human form in three hundred years and was now seven hundred years old, advised her, "Little Volcano, let me tell you, people outside are very bad, it’s better to be a fairy like us." He also said, "Little Volcano, if you want to steal chickens, go to Zhou Ba Pi in Bronze Bull Town, he’s the most deceitful, stealing has its own rules, we should have principles even when stealing."
Due to this advice, Cancan decided to turn into human form and steal a chicken on that day to improve her life, choosing Zhou Ba Pi’s house, but the result… the result was not as she had hoped.
"Bang!" Cancan bumped into a tree.
Hua Qing, who was walking ahead, heard the sound, turned around and saw Cancan holding her head while sitting on the ground. He massaged his temples and asked, "Are you a pig?"
Cancan cried, "Hua Qing, you forgot, I am a little fox."
Hua Qing pursed his lips, not sure what to say. After a moment of thinking, he approached Cancan, looked down at her from above, then reached out his hand. Cancan pouted, placed her hand in Hua Qing’s, and he pulled her up, saying, "Walk carefully."
Cancan nodded quickly, realizing that although Hua Qing seemed cold, he was actually kind-hearted.
"If you do something silly again, don’t follow me."
Cancan stumbled back, taking back her words. He wasn’t kind-hearted at all, not at all!!! Seeing Cancan’s pouting face, Hua Qing let out a deep sigh, as if the sighs from the past few centuries were nothing compared to today.
"Hu Cancan, are you always alone?"
Cancan shook her head quickly, saying, "How could I always be alone? I have always been a fox."
Hua Qing calmly replied, "Don’t argue with me about words."
Cancan frowned and continued, "My fox dad and fox mom turned into fur coats when I was very young. I grew up with the next-door Brother Wolf, what was his name again?" Scratching her head, Cancan said, "It’s not my fault I can’t remember. He is just a Big Wolf, insisted on giving himself a fancy name. Oh, I remembered, his name is Yuan Lang."
Hua Qing nodded.
"But Brother Wolf turned into a human when I turned one hundred years old. Since then, he hasn’t been at Shu Mountain often, he runs around all day. He’s so proud of himself. But I’m always happy when he comes back, he brings some delicious food and tells stories that I already know." Cancan puffed out her chest, trying to show that she was a knowledgeable little fox.
Hua Qing listened to her chatter, then asked, "No one knew you were coming out this time?"
Cancan replied confidently, "Someone knows, I left a letter for him. But, I don’t know when he’ll go back. Um, also, I’m not sure if he can understand it."
Hua Qing nodded again, then stayed silent. Cancan was really going out for the first time, she kept chatting non-stop, finding everything very interesting and exciting. Maybe because she had Hua Qing by her side, her initial anxiety gradually turned into carefree joy.
"Hua Qing, where are we going?" Cancan chattered all the way and finally remembered to ask this question. She raised her little face and asked Hua Qing with a smile. Hua Qing shook his head.
Cancan sighed and said, "You don’t know either? So, are we just wandering around aimlessly?"
Hua Qing looked at Cancan, and she quickly spoke, "I know, I know, we can go anywhere, it’s not wandering aimlessly, I’ll listen to you, I won’t leave." Probably if he spoke, he would probably tell her to go away again. As a fairy, being unfriendly like this was really irritating.
Suddenly, Hua Qing reached out and a light passed over Cancan’s forehead, she cried out, feeling a bit scared. She looked at Hua Qing cautiously and asked, "What are you doing now?" Hopefully he wouldn’t turn her back to her original form? She felt very unsafe, this Hua Qing was too violent and unfriendly.
Hua Qing saw her looking scared and said, "I just want to see how smart you are."
Cancan quickly opened her eyes wide and asked, "So how smart am I?"
Hua Qing told the truth, "Not very."
Cancan pouted, then quickly grabbed Hua Qing’s arm and asked, "Are you lying to me, huh?"
Hua Qing said, "You really aren’t very smart. I don’t need to test you to know that. Your actions speak for themselves."
Cancan was confused at first, but then she understood. She stomped her foot and said, "What do you mean? You are obviously looking down on me. I am clever, and how dare you! How can you be so harsh? You’re not a fairy, you are… oh, please don’t go."
Hua Qing smoothly pulled his arm out of Cancan’s grasp, continued walking. Cancan saw him leaving, then ran up to him, "Hua Qing, you heartless person…"
Hua Qing felt a headache from her nagging and said, "Are you hungry? Do you want to eat something?"
Cancan immediately replied, "Yes!"
Suddenly, Hua Qing looked up at the sky silently, like a little fox whose attention was easily diverted.
The two of them quickly arrived at a bustling market town, full of hustle and bustle, looking quite lively. Cancan followed Hua Qing around, looking at this and that, appearing naive.
Hua Qing sat down in front of a small stall, and the waiter immediately approached, "What would you like to eat? We have all kinds of buns and steamed buns here."
Cancan licked her lips, glanced at Hua Qing, swallowed some saliva, and Hua Qing said, "Steamed buns."

The buns arrived, and Cancan grabbed one and quickly ate it in two or three bites. Perhaps she ate too quickly, she choked and kept coughing. The waiter couldn’t believe that a girl could devour buns like a wolf. He looked at Cancan, then at his own buns, thinking how delicious they must be.
After finishing one bun, Cancan reached out for another, but hesitated. She looked at Hua Qing cautiously and asked, "Um… do you want this?" as she handed the bun to Hua Qing.
Hua Qing shook his head.
Cancan widened her eyes, "Aren’t you eating?"
Hua Qing nodded.
Cancan smiled with satisfaction, "Well, if you’re not eating, then I will eat it all. Once I finish it, there won’t be any left." Holding onto the bun tightly, she looked nervous. Hua Qing reassured her, "If it’s not enough, just ask for more."
Cancan quickly asked, "Can I have more?"
Hua Qing nodded.
Cancan quickly gobbled up the buns, and after finishing them, she smiled at Hua Qing, "I want more!"

Hua Qing never expected that one day he would be surrounded like this. He used to not care about being watched, but this time it was different. He watched Cancan as she devoured the buns, and he couldn’t help but ponder, "How can such a little girl eat eighteen buns? Is she causing a loss to the bun shop?"
Perhaps because Cancan was enjoying the food so much, more and more people gathered around the little shop. Even the waiter wanted to step forward and say, "Miss, please don’t eat too much. Don’t make yourself sick!"
But when she saw that she didn’t stop at all, and looked at the man next to her, Xiao Er felt discouraged.
Cancan ate twenty-three until she was full, she had never eaten so comfortably before. She ate so much that she couldn’t walk properly. When Hua Qing saw her like this, he pulled her forward. Cancan murmured, "I have never eaten such delicious food before, it’s amazing."

Hua Qing smiled helplessly.
"Dingling dingling dingling…" Suddenly, the bell at Hua Qing’s waist rang, making Cancan curious, "Huh? What’s that! Why is it ringing by itself?"
