Chapter 5: Resemblance

For five hundred years, Hua Qing searched for Xian Yue. He traveled through desolate lands, the northernmost peaks, and the depths of the southern sea. However, he found no trace of Xian Yue. According to legend, foxes transforming into humans would choose an extremely beautiful appearance. Hua Qing gazed at Cancan, thinking that she might have seen Xian Yue. Since Xian Yue was incredibly beautiful, it wouldn’t be odd for Cancan to take on her appearance when transformed into a human.

Cancan was shocked and asked in disbelief, "Can’t I grow up to look like this?"

Cancan cried out loudly, "You can’t leave me behind. You’re the first great immortal I met after transforming into human form, you have to take me in."

Hua Qing smiled, his tone softened, "If you want to follow me."

Hua Qing responded with another "Oh," then looked at Cancan lying on the ground and said, "Get up, transform back, and talk properly."

Cancan felt that maybe being a celestial being was all about connections. Like Hua Qing, who became the Shu Mountain Sect Master, probably gave many gifts to achieve that. Otherwise, with a not so bright mind, how could one become a celestial being? Cancan grumpily transformed back into human form, "Aren’t you a celestial being? How come you still like pretty women? Our Fox tribe is indeed the most charming."
