Chapter 25: Yu Xiu

"If you’re not Xian Yue, why would the senior brother bring you along," Hua Yun didn’t move, still pointing his sword at Cancan.

Cancan pouted, "Can’t he just want to take me as his disciple? Besides, whatever he does, it’s none of your business." Cancan thought, this celestial being really makes no sense.

Seeing Hua Yun targeting Cancan like this, Hua Qing spoke again, "She’s not Xian Yue, I brought her along by mistake, you don’t need to worry too much. Are you here looking for me this time?"

Hua Yun was shocked and then said, "Brother, are you really taking these two fairies with us? They might be spies from the Demon Realm. For years, demons from the Demon Realm have placed spies around us. These two don’t seem like good people. Now that Mo Yuan is awake, we must be more careful."

For some reason, looking at Cancan, Hua Yun thought of his elder martial sister Xian Yue. He felt something was off, a bad feeling creeping in.

Cancan grinned at Hua Yun and said, "Bad guy, bad guy!"

She is so kind, not like what he said, calling her a spy, that’s just mean.

Hua Yun didn’t understand Hua Qing’s thoughts but seeing him treat the little fox kindly, he sighed and said, "Let’s set off then."

The group set off and after a few days of traveling, they were close to reaching Shadowless City. Cancan had never heard of Shadowless City before. Big Green, being knowledgeable, explained that in Shadowless City, whether day or night, people do not cast shadows wherever they go. The climate of Shadowless City is inhospitable to people, so it’s called an empty city.

Cancan was confused and asked, "If it’s an empty city, then how come Snowflake Glass is there? Isn’t that a paradox?"

Look at her, she’s a smart little fox, figuring it out so quickly.

Honestly, even Big Green didn’t understand. Hua Yun just smirked at them and said, "Are you trying to figure out what’s real and what’s not?"

Cancan wanted to compose a poem like a great poet, but after struggling for a while, she gave up.

Seeing her expression, Hua Qing guessed what she was thinking, and he subtly smiled without even realizing it himself.

Yu Xiu was surprised and took a step back, looking more cautious. She put her hand on her sword and said slowly, "So, you are fairies."

Hua Yun sneered again. "Do not compare us to that little fox. I am Hua Yun."

Yu Xiu paused, then looked at Hua Qing. After a while, she said, "Is it … Is it Shu Mountain Sect Master Hua Qing?"

She had visited Shu Mountain to study before, and had met Hua Qing once. Since that meeting, she had remembered him in her heart. Even though she was young at the time, she admired him silently.

Hua Qing nodded slightly. "I am indeed Hua Qing," he said, and said nothing more.

Yu Xiu was unsure why Hua Qing and Hua Yun were with a little fox. She stared at Hua Qing and said, "It is unexpected for Hua Qing to be here."

Cancan looked at Yu Xiu with joy at reuniting with an old friend. Big Wolf saw Cancan’s enthusiasm, while Yu Xiu remained distant and cautious. She pulled Cancan and rolled her eyes.

Yu Xiu thought for a moment and said, "I wonder where Hua Qing is heading. If we can help, I, as a disciple of Qilian Mountain, am ready to offer assistance."

Hua Qing shook his head. "No need, you can’t help," he said coldly.

Cancan quickly ran to Hua Qing and said with a smile, "Hua Qing, why not let Yu Xiu come with you? She’s really amazing. When we were young, she rescued me from a rock crevice and even set me free! She has a kind heart."

Blushing, Yu Xiu bit her lip. "Please don’t mention those things!"

If she had known that the fox would turn into a demon, she would never have rescued it when she was young. Seeing Yu Xiu smiling beside Hua Qing, Yu Xiu pursed her lips.

Hua Qing stood up. "Either you come with me, or you follow her," he said, getting ready to leave.

Cancan immediately held onto Hua Qing. "I’ll go with you, of course," she said, waving to Yu Xiu. "We are going to a dangerous place, you should stay away. Well, we’re off!"

Yu Xiu bit her lip. "You only have four people, but Qilian Mountain has over a dozen. Maybe we could help, and besides, there are demons here. We came here to slay demons. If you…"
