Chapter 89: 30 Million Spirit Stones
In Celestial City, major commercial guilds gathered on the nearest giant peak to the waterfall of spiritual liquid.
The boy maneuvered his mount and landed at a designated area for flying steeds, bringing Xu Fan to a stop.
“Senior, in the Trading Zone, it costs 100 spirit stones per day, whether you buy something or not,” the boy reminded.
“I know.”
As Xu Fan left the mount’s storage area, he bought a temporary stay token from a city officer stationed at the entrance, which would disappear after one day.
“Senior, Wanzhou Pavilion is located right in the center of the Trading Zone.”
“If you’re looking to buy unique treasures from the central continent, feel free to tell me.”
“There are seven major guilds from the central continent in the Trading Zone, each specializing in different areas.”
“The biggest advantage of Wanzhou Pavilion is its connection to all major guilds; its strength lies in resource integration.”
“If you need items in large quantities from multiple locations, then Wanxiang Pavilion is your best choice.”
The boy expounded on the major guilds enthusiastically, causing Xu Fan to nod along; the kid’s business acumen and skills were undeniably impressive.
“So, what should I do if I want to sell a batch of precious artifacts and pills?” Xu Fan asked gently. The boy’s clear and sincere gaze showed he just wanted to earn a tip, which was certainly not a flaw.
When the boy heard Xu Fan, his eyes brightened, realizing he had made an impression.
A big deal is coming, the boy thought excitedly.
For some reason, the boy’s earnestness reminded Xu Fan of his early days in this world when he was a beggar; he had been just like this boy.
The only difference was that he didn’t have a large bird back then.
“If you don’t mind, let me see what you have,” the boy said, displaying a knowledgeable demeanor. He secretly vowed to buy a Great Feather Bird for his younger brother, so he could save enough spirit stones for the Cultivation Academy in just a few years.
Xu Fan casually tossed a storage bag to the boy, filled with ordinary items, the best of which were a few fifth-level precious artifacts.
“These items are too valuable; they’re exactly what the Wild Region Guild buys at high prices,” the boy remarked.
“Then let’s go to the Wild Region Guild.”
“Okay, senior.”
The boy led Xu Fan to a remote corner, where they found the Wild Region Guild.
The guard at the entrance greeted the boy with a smile and welcomed Xu Fan to the VIP room.
A plate of Spiritual Fruits, a dish of spirit cakes, and a pot of spirit tea awaited him.
The boy poured tea for Xu Fan.
At that moment, a burly old man with Nascent Soul cultivation entered.
“What does the taoist friend want to sell? Feel free to present it, and I’ll give you an estimate; I promise it’ll be the highest price in the entire Trading Zone,” the old man said, getting straight to the point.
“A few pills and precious artifacts,” Xu Fan said, placing the storage bag on the table.
“I’ll give you 6 million spirit stones for these; what do you think?” The old man examined the storage bag and then spoke.
“Good, deal.”
This was 500,000 spirit stones more than Xu Fan had estimated.
“Senior, could you give me a price estimate for this?” Xu Fan took out a palm-sized farm, one of the main reasons he came here, to see if there was a market for it.
Once he had a goal, he could no longer be a purely simple person.
The old man took the palm-sized farm, and when he saw the twenty acres of high-quality medicinal herb field inside, his eyes lit up with excitement.
“Our guild comes from the Wild Region, a place where hardly anyone goes, and nothing grows—except for the endless wild beasts we hunt.”
“I won’t lie to you, taoist friend, this item could fetch a high price in our region.”
“If you can produce these in bulk, our guild will buy them for 200,000 spirit stones each, and we’ll take as many as you can make.”
“We have plenty of spirit stones,” the old man said, his Nascent Soul stage aura unintentionally leaking out, causing the little boy beside Xu Fan to break into a cold sweat, feeling as if he should prostrate himself on the ground.
The Nascent Soul pressure had no effect on Xu Fan, though. Instead, he began calculating furiously in his mind. If he only processed semi-finished products, he could make 100 palm-sized farms in a year, which would mean 20 million spirit stones annually.
“Can your guild handle 100 or even 1,000 of these?” Xu Fan asked, unconcerned about imitation. After all, master craftsmen with the relevant runes wouldn’t bother crafting such artifacts—why waste time on these when they could be crafting tools?
“It would be even better if you could bring us 10,000,” the old man replied.
Xu Fan then signed a contract with the Wild Region Guild for an order of 50 palm-sized farms, to be delivered within a year. After signing, he received a deposit of 500,000 spirit stones.
As for the time-space sand, Xu Fan inquired about it, but they said they had no way to obtain it, as they were also actively purchasing the item.
Xu Fan left the Wild Region Guild with the little boy.
“Time-space sand is a product of the central continent, and it’s in high demand. Every guild is trying to get their hands on it.”
“If you want to buy it, you’ll likely only find it at the Sky Extreme Guild, but be prepared for a steep price,” the little boy said after a moment of thought.
“Then let’s go take a look.”
At the Sky Extreme Guild, the supervisor greeted them with a smile. “Time-space sand is 30 million spirit stones per pound. How much would you like?”
“Can’t you lower the price?” Xu Fan frowned, feeling like they were trying to rip him off with such a steep markup.
“Our guild doesn’t negotiate prices. In the Trading Zone, you’ll probably only find time-space sand here, and we don’t limit the quantity you can buy.”
The supervisor’s sly expression made it clear he had Xu Fan cornered.
“Excuse me,” Xu Fan said, leaving the Sky Extreme Guild with the boy.
“Keep trying; there’s a reward for you once this is done.”
Six hours later, Xu Fan walked out of Wanzhou Pavilion.
Just as the Sky Extreme Guild supervisor had said, no other guild had the item in stock. The only guild willing to sell offered half a pound for 25 million spirit stones.
The boy rode the Great Feather Bird and brought Xu Fan back to the teleportation center.
Xu Fan tossed a small bag of spirit stones to the little boy. The hard-working boy deserved better than to be let down.
“You’re doing great; keep it up. Talent isn’t everything.”
“As you walk the path of heaven, cultivators must strive endlessly to improve themselves.”
Before leaving, Xu Fan gave the boy some words of encouragement, knowing that for a boy with five spirit roots to reach the Transformation Stage, it would take nothing short of a miracle—or perhaps a small vial.
The boy held the small bag of spirit stones, not needing to count them to know there were 500 inside. It would have taken him at least two months of hard work to earn that much.
Looking toward the teleportation center, the boy’s eyes grew a bit moist. This was the first time he had felt truly recognized by someone.
With only a few spirit stones left by his parents, he had navigated the vast Celestial City under the watchful eyes of his family, caring for his younger brother and sister with nothing but sheer determination.
So what if he had five spirit roots? One day, he would become a powerful Nascent Soul cultivator and return to his family, crushing those who had taken advantage of his parents’ estate.
As soon as Xu Fan teleported back to the fairy city, he flew straight toward Que Tian Gate. After securing the order for the palm-sized farms, Xu Fan had a bold idea forming in his mind.
