Chapter 39: A Surprise During Moving
Just as Xu Fan was figuring out how to craft this batch of magical artifacts, a flying sword made of spiritual energy appeared outside his protective barrier.
Xu Fan waved his hand to dispel the light shadow technique and opened the barrier to let the flying sword in.
“Damn, is that brat Ye really targeting me now?”
“No way, I’m moving tomorrow after I pick up my disciples,” Xu Fan muttered through gritted teeth. “He wants to visit me? I’m too busy, and he’s already caused me enough trouble.”
The next day, Xu Fan spotted his two disciples outside the school, but the scene wasn’t what he expected.
Xu Gang stood in front of Xu Yuexian, looking disheveled with a badly swollen face. Across from him was a chubby little boy, around ten years old, backed by five or six other kids, all glaring at Xu Gang.
Xu Fan watched the scene with a squint, like an adult observing a childish brawl.
“This kid’s no pushover,” Xu Fan remarked, noticing the chubby boy’s blackened eyes and the bruises on his friends’ faces.
“Xu Gang, Xu Yuexian, listen up!”
“If you don’t submit to me, Dong Hei, I’ll keep beating you up every chance I get.”
“My master told me I’ve got a full-rounded battle body, and once I start cultivating, I’ll be unstoppable.”
“Then I’ll do whatever I want to you.”
Xu Gang stared at Dong Hei and said one thing.
“You dare to fight me one-on-one?”
“Why would I fight you alone when my group can take you down?” Dong Hei sneered, though a flicker of fear crossed his eyes. This kid was ruthless, and Dong Hei knew he wouldn’t win in a fair fight.
“That’s what a full-rounded battle body gets you,” Xu Gang said with a smirk.
Xu Fan almost laughed out loud. Was this really his usually clueless first disciple?
Just then, Xu Fan stepped forward.
“Xu Gang, Yuexian, is someone bullying you?” Xu Fan asked, pretending to glare at Dong Hei and his gang.
The moment Dong Hei saw Xu Fan, his eyes darted around, and he bolted with his followers in tow.
“Ah! The cultivator’s bullying us!” Dong Hei shouted as he ran.
“That little chubby kid’s a real schemer,” Xu Fan muttered.
He didn’t bother asking why they were fighting. Instead, he checked the siblings’ injuries. Xu Gang had some minor scrapes, but Xu Yuexian was unharmed.
“Not bad, showing some backbone there.”
Xu Fan sent a gentle wave of wood-attributed spiritual energy into Xu Gang, and the swelling on his face began to fade.
“Focus on your cultivation. You can settle the score later,” Xu Fan said kindly. Kids fighting was nothing unusual.
Seeing Xu Fan wasn’t angry, the siblings relaxed.
“Yes, Master! I’ll cultivate hard and make sure to punch that little chubby kid’s face next time!”
“I’ll cultivate too, so I can help big brother beat up that little chubby kid!” Xu Yuexian declared with such determination that Xu Fan almost felt sorry for Dong Hei.
Watching the siblings’ bond, Xu Fan smiled.
After returning to the little hill with Xu Gang and Xu Yuexian, Xu Fan started preparing to move.
One hour later, Xu Fan stood on the empty mountaintop, holding five storage bags.
“Let’s go; I’ll take you to pick a new home,” Xu Fan said, and then he flew with the siblings to a special location in the Outer Sect.
In the Administrative Hall, all outer disciples must report their relocation plans.
Xu Fan, along with the siblings, was looking for a location on a glowing sandy map.
“Yuexian, where do you think we should move? It should be more hidden,” Xu Fan said, feeling overwhelmed by choices.
“Here! Not only is there a lot of space, but it’s also concealed,” Xu Yuexian pointed to a spot near the edge of the Outer Sect barrier.
Xu Fan looked in the direction Xu Yuexian indicated, and his eyes lit up.
“Great, we’ll move there!”
After completing the paperwork, Xu Fan took the siblings to the spot chosen by Xu Yuexian.
“Not bad; the entire mountaintop has nearly a hundred acres available. The only downside is that it’s a bit far from the main peak, but everything else is fine,” Xu Fan said, looking at the area that had already formed a mountaintop forest.
Two spirit birds flew from Xu Fan’s hands—one headed to Wang Yulun’s mountaintop, and the other flew to the commercial association where Pang Fu was located.
“Alright, let’s start organizing; we should have the rooms built by tonight.”
“Xu Gang, Yuexian, watch closely; this is your master’s unique secret technique.”
Xu Fan produced two small spirit pearls made of soul iron, one with earth attributes and one with wood attributes.
‘Secret Technique: Summon Living Beings’
One spirit pearl flew into the ground, while the other went into the forest.
The forest began to gather, and a vortex appeared in the earth.
Before long, two five-meter-high humanoid giants emerged, both possessing Foundation Establishment strength.
“See? This is your master’s latest research achievement. You can learn it once you reach the fourth level of Qi Refinement.”
The siblings looked at Xu Fan with admiration.
At that moment, the two summoned giant puppets started working.
The wood attribute giant cleared an area of over fifty acres, while the earth attribute giant flattened the entire mountaintop.
In just one hour, the mountaintop transformed into the shape Xu Fan wanted.
The two giants now stood over ten meters tall. Just as Xu Fan planned to have them construct houses, two beams of light zoomed toward the mountaintop where Xu Fan was.
“Wow, they arrived quickly,” Xu Fan remarked as he glanced at the distant lights.
“Big Brother Xu, why are you moving all of a sudden?” Wang Yulun asked, looking at the two giant workers.
“I just took on two disciples, and it’s getting crowded, so I need to find a bigger place,” Xu Fan casually replied; he couldn’t exactly say he was trying to avoid the protagonist.
“Then I wish you joy in your new home, Big Brother Xu.”
As Wang Yulun spoke, he took out a piece of soul iron the size of a grinding stone to give to Xu Fan as a gift.
“Big Brother Xu, here’s our congratulatory gift,” Murong Qianer said with a smile.
At that moment, Xu Fan squatted by the soul iron, gazing at it in awe.
“This piece of soul iron is worth at least 500,000 spirit stones, and it could sell for over 700,000 to someone in urgent need.”
“Are you sure you want to give me this soul iron?” Xu Fan asked the two seriously; he was in desperate need of soul iron, which has the property of containing souls and preserving their essence.
“Yes, we’re sure it’s for you, Big Brother Xu,” the couple affirmed.
“Alright, then let’s head inside and chat.”
After saying this, Xu Fan formed a spell seal, sending two streams of spiritual light into the bodies of the two giants.
The earth giant suddenly split apart into many smaller earth attribute giants.
The little giants ran to the locations Xu Fan pointed out, turning into various rooms.
Instantly, a farmhouse courtyard appeared before everyone. The wood attribute giant transformed into even more little wooden figures that rushed into the rooms to create furniture.
“Big Brother Xu, are you a Nascent Soul big shot? Spirit control and transformation are techniques of the Nascent Soul Stage,” Murong Qianer exclaimed in surprise.
“Yeah, I thought, how could Big Brother Xu be so powerful before? Turns out he was hiding his strength,” Wang Yulun said.
“Don’t be ridiculous; these are just some ancient spells. I can teach you if you want to learn.”
Reaching the Nascent Soul Stage would take another 500 years.
