Chapter 357: Wang Yulun’s Return
Han Feiyu glanced around the modest surroundings and then at the thick animal hide blanket covering him.
He immediately checked his space ring and the magic items he carried.
Seeing the small gourd in the space ring, he felt a wave of relief; this was his lifeline in the cultivation world.
"Miss, how far is it to the central continent?" Han Feiyu asked, anxious to return, as failing his task would cost him points.
"What is the central continent?" the young girl asked, her curiosity piqued.
Han Feiyu looked at the girl, who was only at the Qi Training Stage, and realized he had been too hasty.
"Thank you for saving my life. I, Han Feiyu, am deeply grateful," Han Feiyu said, pulling out a Hidden Spirit Sect robe to replace his tattered one.
"You should eat your porridge first; if you want to thank someone, you should thank my brother," the girl said with a smile.
Just then, a towering man, nearly two meters tall, entered the room and said to Han Feiyu, "Friend, you’re awake."
"I haven’t yet thanked you for saving my life," Han Feiyu quickly responded. Sensing the man’s Foundation Establishment Stage cultivation, he began to grasp the situation here.
"It was nothing. When I saw you, that white bear was about to make a meal of you. You seemed like a decent fellow, so I stepped in," the tall man explained.
"I still don’t know the name of my savior."
"My name is Iron Tower; you can call me Tiezhi or Laotie," the tall man replied with a grin.
"This is my sister, Iron Blue."
Three days later, with his cultivation restored, Han Feiyu decided to step outside.
Opening the door, he was taken aback.
What kind of fairy city was this? It resembled a common village more than anything else.
At that moment, Iron Tower approached, carrying a big fish.
"Feiyu, aren’t you going to rest a bit longer?" Iron Tower asked, growing fonder of Han Feiyu after their time together; he seemed like the perfect match for his sister.
That evening, Han Feiyu, Iron Tower, and Iron Blue gathered around a table for dinner.
"Iron Brother, do you know about the central continent?" Han Feiyu inquired.
"The central continent? I’ve heard of it; it’s supposed to be a legendary place," Iron Tower said, biting into the dried fish he held.
"Iron Brother, are we really in Warm Jade Fairy City?" Han Feiyu asked again.
"Yes, Warm Jade Fairy City is one of the larger fairy cities around here," Iron Tower stated proudly.
A small village with a hundred thousand people could be called a fairy city?
Iron Tower then looked at Han Feiyu seriously and said, "Feiyu, you must have come here by accident from somewhere else."
Han Feiyu nodded.
"Since you’re here, you might as well stay. In a few years, once Iron Blue is older, you two can marry," Iron Tower suggested casually.
Iron Blue shyly lowered her head.
"…….”
"I know you want to go back, but this is the poorest area in the extreme north. With your current cultivation, leaving here is impossible," Iron Tower said, finishing the dried fish in his hand.
“Brother Tie, could you elaborate on that?” Han Feiyu asked, pouring a cup of hot water for the towering man.
“Of course, I’ll explain,” Tie replied.
“Beyond our Warm Jade Fairy City lies a vast glacial plain stretching hundreds of thousands of miles, teeming with glacial beasts. To venture out, one must at least be at the Core Formation stage. Otherwise, the colossal beasts roaming the glacial plain will devour you, leaving nothing behind.”
Han Feiyu’s expression shifted slightly.
“Is there no way to leave? Perhaps through a teleportation formation or a passing spiritual boat?” Han Feiyu speculated.
“None whatsoever. The last spiritual boat to pass through was 160 years ago,” Tie sighed, his longing for the outside world evident.
“Ah,” Han Feiyu sighed deeply, pulling out some Spiritual Fruits from his palm-sized farm to share as snacks. He had been feeling uneasy after days of eating dried fish.
“These are Spiritual Fruits!” Tie exclaimed in astonishment.
“Do they not suit your taste?” Han Feiyu asked, offering a few different varieties.
When Han Feiyu first discovered the palm-sized farm treasure in the sect, he was thrilled and purchased over ten of them using spirit stones, even splurging on a few luxurious versions of the animal farm.
“They’re perfect, just perfect,” Tie said with a broad grin, immediately dashing outside the gate with the Spiritual Fruits Han Feiyu had given him.
“What’s up with your brother?” Han Feiyu asked curiously. He knew Spiritual Fruits were highly valuable in such an environment, but he wouldn’t hesitate to share with someone he was familiar with and had saved.
“The Spiritual Fruits Han Brother brought are worth at least a hundred spirit stones each. They’re incredibly precious,” the girl said softly.
“As for my brother, he probably went to find Sister Feiling’s father to make a good impression,” she added.
She didn’t touch the Spiritual Fruits on the table, instead storing them all in her storage bag.
Noticing her actions, Han Feiyu took out a large spirit peach, split it in half, and handed one piece to the girl.
“Go ahead, I’ve got plenty more Spiritual Fruits,” Han Feiyu said with a smile.
“Thank you, Han Brother,” the girl said shyly, her thoughts drifting to the fact that she had just accepted Han Brother’s gift, making her his fiancée.
In the Hidden Spirit Sect, Xu Fan’s eyes lost their sparkle as he gazed out the window at the distant sky.
“Strange, where has my other disciple gone?” Xu Fan wondered aloud.
With his current cultivation level, even if they had traveled far, he should have been able to sense their general direction. Yet, it seemed as though his wealthy disciple had vanished from the cultivation world, with even the karmic threads disappearing.
“Oh well, it’s probably nothing serious,” Xu Fan muttered.
Just then, a spiritual boat arrived from the Hidden Spirit Fairy City, carrying Li Xingci, who was holding Su Rantian and her tiny baby.
Seeing Li Xingci return, Xu Fan immediately brought along Wang Yulun, who was in the middle of practicing his morale-boosting technique, to greet them.
“Master.”
“Peak Master Wang,” Li Xingci said, pausing briefly upon seeing Wang Yulun.
“Welcome back, Elder Su,” Xu Fan said with a smile, looking at the two.
“Hello, Grand Elder.”
“Hello, Peak Master Wang,” Su Rantian said, bowing slightly when addressing Peak Master Wang to show her respect.
“Let me hold the baby and share in your joy,” Xu Fan said with a grin.
Su Rantian carefully handed the tiny baby to Xu Fan.
The baby, with rosy cheeks, looked as delicate as a porcelain doll.
“He’s sure to grow into a handsome young man,” Xu Fan said with a smile.
He then passed the baby to Wang Yulun, adding, “You should share in the joy too; it’ll help your cultivation.”
Wang Yulun eagerly took the baby, gazing at him for a long while before reluctantly returning him to Su Rantian.
That evening, Wang Yulun arrived at Xu Fan’s courtyard.
Xu Fan was stargazing, predicting future events.
“You’re here,” Xu Fan said, still looking up at the sky.
“Big Brother Xu, thank you,” Wang Yulun expressed his gratitude.
“No need to thank me. I just wanted you to see your grandson to give you more motivation to cultivate,” Xu Fan replied.
“I don’t want to keep having to give you a morale boost every so often,” Xu Fan chuckled.
“Thank you for your concern, Big Brother Xu,” Wang Yulun said with a wry smile.
