Chapter 355: Respected Elder of Nine Swords
One thousand miles away from the center of the explosion, Xu Gang and Little Xi emerged from the ground.
“Good thing I’ve kept up with the Five Elements Escape Technique,” Xu Gang said, scanning their surroundings.
The two found themselves by a small lake, where a herd of spiritual deer roamed.
“Husband, we made it out!” Little Xi exclaimed, her voice filled with relief.
“Of course. A few Core Formation stage beast races couldn’t possibly stop us,” Xu Gang replied with a confident smirk.
“Even without my own tricks, the two Void Refinement Stage puppets Master left with me would’ve been enough to get us out of that mess.”
“Still, it’s a shame about the mortals and low-level cultivators in that fairy city,” Xu Gang sighed, his tone heavy. He had wanted to save them, but his strength wasn’t enough. Survival had to come first.
“That’s an entire city’s worth of people,” Little Xi murmured sadly.
“Master always said, ‘When you’re poor, focus on yourself; when you’re rich, help the world.’”
“We’ll train harder. One day, we’ll be strong enough to change things like this,” Xu Gang said firmly.
He turned his gaze toward the direction of the fairy city.
“Grape, where’s the nearest fairy city?” Xu Gang asked.
“Fifty thousand kilometers to the northwest,” Grape replied.
“Little Xi, let’s go,” Xu Gang said.
“Alright.”
“No need to rush. I’ve already cracked the encryption on the teleportation formation between fairy cities,” Grape chimed in.
“Please provide one thousand top-grade spirit stones.”
Without hesitation, Little Xi placed one thousand top-grade spirit stones on the ground.
An unseen force took control, melting the stones into liquid and etching runes into the ground.
Soon, a small teleportation formation, about three meters in diameter, took shape.
“A thousand top-grade spirit stones for this?” Xu Gang muttered, raising an eyebrow.
“Most of the stones were used to decrypt the outer layer of the fairy city’s teleportation formation. The actual teleportation doesn’t require much,” Grape explained.
“Got it.”
Xu Gang stepped into the formation with Little Xi. A flash of spiritual light later, they vanished, and the residual spiritual energy dispersed into the world as pure spiritual energy.
Three days later, Xu Gang and Little Xi arrived at the Ten Thousand-Mile Giant Lake.
As soon as they stepped onto Hidden Spirit Island, Xu Fan summoned Xu Gang.
“Feeling the itch to use your ultimate move, huh?” Xu Fan said, a special Nascent Soul stage puppet materializing behind him.
“From now on, you’ll be sparring with this puppet every day to practice your ultimate move.”
“Master, let me explain—”
“Disciple, I was careless. I didn’t think to use those two puppets,” Xu Gang said quickly, noticing Xu Fan’s stern expression and realizing he was in trouble.
“No worries. This puppet will teach you to think smarter,” Xu Fan said with a wave of his hand, immobilizing Xu Gang.
The puppet behind Xu Fan carried Xu Gang deep into the Ten Thousand-Mile Giant Lake.
“Alright, don’t worry. Teach that little rascal a lesson so he can learn to be smarter,” Xu Fan said to Little Xi, whose face was filled with concern.
“I understand Master’s meaning,” Little Xi replied respectfully.
“If the group of beast races you encountered outside the city had a Core Formation stage beast race with skills in Earth Escape, you both would not have escaped.”
“That was too reckless; you need to be more cautious.”
“Thank you for your concern, Master,” Little Xi said.
“As long as you understand, you can go back now,” Xu Fan waved, signaling her to leave.
From now on, the disciples in the sect would occasionally hear booming sounds coming from a thousand miles away.
By the Ten Thousand-Mile Giant Lake, Han Feiyu and Jian Wujie each carried two Transformation Stage heavy armor puppets.
“Not bad; our assigned nations are quite close,” Jian Wujie remarked, reviewing their tasks.
One was Tianchi Nation, and the other was Dihai Nation, perfectly neighboring each other.
“Just right to support each other if needed,” Han Feiyu smiled.
He gazed at the distant Giant City being constructed by thousands of Spell Puppets, feeling a sense of urgency as the great battle between the human race and beast race drew nearer. Several fairy cities of the human race had already fallen to the beast race.
“With the two heavy armor puppets from the sect, what could go wrong?” Jian Wujie laughed, feeling like this mission was more like an outing.
“Don’t let your guard down; always keep the emergency return token ready,” Han Feiyu said seriously. No matter where he went, safety was his top priority.
“Got it, Feiyu. I’ll be off now,” Jian Wujie waved and boarded his spiritual boat, heading toward Tianchi Nation.
Han Feiyu turned to look at the two Transformation Stage heavy armor puppets following him and smiled, “Well, within the sect’s boundaries, what could happen?”
A spiritual boat soared toward Dihai Nation.
At Hidden Spirit Sect, Xu Fan and Ning Dao gazed at a massive light curtain displaying a detailed view of the Ten Thousand-Mile Giant Lake and the surrounding land.
“It’s easier with more puppets; unlike those other sects, they just complain and ask the Elder Council for help,” Ning Dao said, irritated.
“The focus is different; Brother Ning, aren’t the things bought here supporting them?” Xu Fan replied, laughing as he looked at the light curtain.
“It’s a loan. Those small sects manage okay with cleaning up the beasts appearing in the mortal world, but once a large-scale Beast Race Invasion occurs, just being able to protect themselves is already impressive.”
“In the War between Realms, I wonder how many mortals will suffer,” Ning Dao sighed.
Suddenly, Xu Fan remembered the small world existing above the Ten Thousand-Mile Giant Lake, unsure how many people it could accommodate.
“We can only do our best to save as many as we can,” Xu Fan said.
“That’s the only way.”
Xu Fan had already discreetly sent puppets to investigate that small world.
In Tianchi Nation, as Jian Wujie entered the capital and the palace, he displayed the Elder Council’s token, commanding the emperor to relocate the entire nation toward the Ten Thousand-Mile Giant Lake.
At that moment, five hundred Nascent Soul Stage tools following Jian Wujie began to lay roads directly to the Giant City being built.
“The total population of Tianchi Nation is over thirty-four million; we need four large cities,” Jian Wujie informed Grape about the situation.
“The large cities have been assigned; please proceed to the next location.”
“The task has been issued,” Grape’s voice echoed in Jian Wujie’s ear.
“Task received,” Jian Wujie acknowledged, surveying the mission in his mind.
At that moment, a Great Ascension Master flew by on a sword, stopping suddenly above Jian Wujie.
“A fine talent; the sword body is perfect, and sealed inside are nine top-tier Spiritual Swords.”
“I have finally met a worthy successor for my Nine Sword lineage,” the Nine Sword Respected Elder laughed.
With a gentle wave of his hand, Jian Wujie felt the Stars Shift, and when he regained his senses, he stood before a white-clothed elder.
“Greetings, senior,” Jian Wujie said, keeping calm as he quietly opened the emergency return token.
“Senior, why have you summoned this junior?”
“I am the Nine Sword Respected Elder; do you wish to become my disciple?” The elder in white looked at Jian Wujie warmly, confident he could attract Jian Wujie to his side.
