Chapter 344: Five Element Body Forging Technique
“Would you like to learn this technique?” the first clone smiled and said. At his level, he could forge an artifact even by striking a piece of scrap iron with a stone.
“Senior, did you create this with a hammer?” the boy exclaimed. He had tried to hammer runes onto his creations before.
“If I didn’t have a hammer, I could do it with my hands,” the first clone replied with a smile, finding the boy’s expression amusing.
“Do you want to learn?”
The boy understood immediately and dropped to his knees to pledge himself as a disciple but was pulled back up again.
“I didn’t intend to take on a student. Instead, since you grew up here, you must know a lot about the local specialty dishes.”
“How about you treat me to a meal, and I’ll teach you for an hour?” the first clone suggested, feeling that he had ample time and wanting to find something fun to do.
“Got it!” The boy dashed out like a gust of wind and returned shortly after with two large bowls.
“Here’s the fragrant pig knuckle rice, one spirit stone per bowl. I hope you don’t mind, senior,” the boy said shyly.
“Sure,” the first clone replied as he looked at the delicious fragrant pig knuckle rice.
“Senior, I’ll go check on my little sister,” the boy said as he took the other bowl and headed toward the backyard.
Watching the boy’s figure fade away and holding the fragrant pig knuckle rice bowl in his hand, the first clone quickly crafted a pair of chopsticks from a nearby piece of spirit iron, completing them with a cleaning formation.
Isn’t it silly to eat without chopsticks?
At that moment, the boy came back holding a pair of chopsticks, awkwardly saying, “Senior, I forgot to grab chopsticks in my excitement.”
“No need, I have some,” the first clone replied lightly.
“Why aren’t you eating?”
“I only have two spirit stones left,” the boy said with a bitter face.
“So you plan to learn my special skill in one hour?” the first clone chuckled.
“I want to give it a try,” the boy said firmly; it was his only hope.
“Alright, I won’t take your meal for nothing.” The first clone gently pointed a finger, directly controlling the boy’s body.
While the boy remained aware, it felt as if he was under control as he pulled out a piece of spirit iron heated red in the furnace and began to hammer it.
“Do not resist; feel the flow of spiritual energy in your body and the arrangement of the runes,” the first clone instructed before stepping out of the blacksmith shop.
The opportunity was given, and whether he could learn it was up to the boy himself.
As soon as the first clone left the blacksmith shop, he heard the boy’s voice behind him.
“Senior, my name is Ertie! Next time you come, I’ll treat you to a feast of luxurious spirit chickens!”
After the boy finished speaking, the sound of iron hammering echoed again from the blacksmith shop.
“How interesting,” the first clone smiled.
In the Artifact Hall, the first clone was greeted by the Master of the Artifact Hall.
“Brother, I’ve figured out the system of your Celestial Script Formation,” the Master of the Artifact Hall said.
“Old Brother, we need to discuss this thoroughly,” the first clone replied.
The two entered the Artifact Hall together.
At this moment, in a small courtyard in Volcano Fairy Town, Ye Xiaoyao was sorting through information about the Master of the Artifact Hall.
“Xiaoyao, the Master of the Artifact Hall definitely has a few celestial tools in his possession.”
“Just stick to the plan I gave you.”
Old Sword spoke directly into Ye Xiaoyao’s mind.
“Putting all this information together, it seems the Master of the Artifact Hall is trying to forge his own path to becoming an artifact great master.”
“So, what’s next?” Ye Xiaoyao asked.
“Then we tailor our approach,” Old Sword said through gritted teeth in Ye Xiaoyao’s mind, sounding like a dad ready to help his son buy a house.
“What’s the plan?” Ye Xiaoyao pressed, knowing that Old Sword wouldn’t have him gather intel on the Master of the Artifact Hall for no reason.
“I once extracted the soul of an artifact Fairy Master. I copied his memories from before he became an artifact great master.”
“All we need to do is find a way to meet the Master of the Artifact Hall and hand over those copied memories.” Old Sword laid out the plan in Ye Xiaoyao’s mind.
“Seriously? More faking?” Ye Xiaoyao groaned, the memory of their last failed attempt still haunting him.
“It’s not faking if the memories are real,” Old Sword shot back dismissively in Ye Xiaoyao’s mind.
I care more about you now than I ever did about my own son.
“Fine,” Ye Xiaoyao sighed, heading out to buy supplies from various merchant guilds.
Meanwhile, back in the Artifact Hall, the two men were growing more animated by the minute.
The Master of the Artifact Hall’s enthusiasm was so intense it could’ve set all of Volcano Fairy Town ablaze.
“Brother, thank you. I’ve found my direction for the path ahead.”
“You’ve done me a great service,” the Master of the Artifact Hall said, pulling out the Ten Thousand Sword Array Plate and offering it to the first clone.
“No need, Brother. Keep it for yourself—use it for protection or pass it on to someone deserving. I have no use for it,” the first clone insisted, pushing it back.
I’m just a clone. Fighting isn’t my role, so this thing is useless to me.
Seeing the first clone’s refusal, the Master of the Artifact Hall relented.
“If you ever need anything, just let me know,” the Master of the Artifact Hall said, thumping his chest.
“Will do.”
Over on Hidden Spirit Island, Xu Fan sat on a seaside cliff, gazing out at the horizon.
“I wonder how the first clone reacted to the news,” Xu Fan mused with a smile.
Below the cliff, where the island met the Endless Sea, a group of disciples from the defense tower lineage were busy constructing a massive defense tower.
Xu Fan watched from above, feeling a sense of pride. The sect no longer needed his constant oversight.
Though the disciples’ cultivation levels were still low, their potential was starting to shine through. He could already picture how formidable they’d become once their skills matured.
“Greetings, Grand Elder!” the disciples called out as they noticed Xu Fan.
“No need for formalities. Carry on,” Xu Fan replied with a warm smile.
Just then, a beam of light streaked across the sky, and Xiong Li appeared behind Xu Fan.
“Greetings, Grand Elder,” Xiong Li said respectfully.
“Rise,” Xu Fan nodded, gesturing for Xiong Li to take a seat.
“You’re close to breaking through to the Nascent Soul stage, aren’t you?” Xu Fan asked.
“Less than six months now,” Xiong Li replied, his usual silly expression on his face.
“Good. As the Senior Brother of the Hidden Spirit Sect, the sect will rely on you in the future. That’s why I’ve enhanced the technique you’ve been practicing.” Xu Fan handed Xiong Li a jade plate.
“This is the upgraded Five Elements Technique, now called the Battle Body of Ten Thousand Gods,” Xu Fan explained.
“Battle Body of Ten Thousand Gods? That’s quite the name.”
“It’s fitting for a powerful technique, don’t you think?” Xu Fan chuckled.
“Once you start practicing it, you’ll see it lives up to the name.”
“Thank you, Grand Elder, for this gift,” Xiong Li said earnestly.
“Just do your best for the sect,” Xu Fan replied. He’d updated the sect’s foundational techniques on a whim, and Xiong Li’s version of the Five Elements Technique was the last piece of the puzzle.
“Grand Elder, what’s our sect’s Five Elements Technique called now?”
“The Origin of the Path.”
“……..”
Guess the old name was too humble after all.
