Chapter 321: Battle at the Two Realms Passage
Han Feiyu looked at his Master Ancestor and felt a bit nervous.
In the cultivation world, he always stuck to one rule: don’t flaunt your wealth. At least, the things he showed off had to be safe enough that the seniors wouldn’t get any ideas.
But now, what he’d revealed in front of this Master Ancestor was way beyond that line.
"Master Ancestor, this is a spring eye stone I found in a secret realm. Since it’s useful for the sect, I’ll gladly contribute it," Han Feiyu said. To him, it wasn’t a big deal—just a regular spring eye stone.
"You’re giving away a spring eye stone worth a top-tier Taoist artifact just like that?"
"If you’re offering, the Hidden Spirit Sect can’t accept it. If word gets out, people will think we’re greedy for our disciples’ treasures."
Xu Fan narrowed his eyes at Han Feiyu, already figuring out who was behind that chuckle earlier.
Feeling like Xu Fan could see right through him, Han Feiyu grew uneasy.
"Here’s an idea: even if it’s a loss for you, we’ll value your spring eye stone as a top-tier Taoist artifact."
"Later, you can come to me for a custom top-tier Taoist artifact." Xu Fan thought it over and added; he had his limits and wouldn’t take advantage of his disciple, even if he was short on spirit stones.
"Master Ancestor, could I trade it for a few ordinary Spiritual Swords instead? I’m a swordsman specializing in sword formations," Han Feiyu quickly said, already planning for the Spiritual Swords he’d need down the line.
"Fine, I’ll count it as ten ordinary Spiritual Swords," Xu Fan said casually.
"Thank you, Master Ancestor!" Han Feiyu said, beaming.
"Don’t thank me. You’re the one taking the loss here."
Hearing this, Han Feiyu just smiled. It was just a plain spring eye stone, after all.
Seeing Han Feiyu’s carefree expression, Xu Fan couldn’t help but feel a pang of envy for these chosen ones of fate—whatever they lacked, the heavens seemed to provide.
Not like him, who had to grind for everything he needed.
Just then, a series of dragon roars echoed through the sky, and nine spirit energy dragons stirred to life, their presence more majestic than ever.
A light blue drizzle began to fall, as if the entire Hidden Spirit Sect was experiencing a second spring.
All the spirit plants and herbs in the sect sprang back to life.
"That spring eye stone of yours is more impressive than I thought."
With a wave of his hand, Xu Fan summoned six strands of special spiritual energy into his palm.
"Spiritual energy on the verge of immortality. Feiyu, thank you on behalf of the Hidden Spirit Sect," Xu Fan said softly, gazing at the energy in his hand.
"It’s my duty," Han Feiyu replied with another bow.
"You two can go now," Xu Fan said, as Grape sent a message about urgent news.
After the two left, a light curtain appeared before Xu Fan, showing the scene at the two realms passage, where swarms of beasts were attacking the Human Realm.
"Are there really that many beasts? Is this level of destruction necessary?" Xu Fan frowned, considering the possibility that the beast race wasn’t as foolish as they seemed.
In the natural passage between the two realms, within the human race’s camp,
after over a year of construction, the Hidden Spirit Sect’s defensive faction had built thousands of defense towers, all made with materials provided by the sect.
Now, the defense towers closest to the beast race began to unleash their power, hurling fireballs and lightning storms into the densest clusters of beasts.
Wind blades, thunderballs, and giant magma spheres—spells of all kinds rained down in rapid succession.
The leading beast race was completely stunned by the sudden wave of explosions.
A Hidden Spirit Sect Disciple stood nearby, watching the battle unfold with a senior at the Void Refinement stage.
“Senior, look at our defense towers. As long as no Void Refinement stage beasts show up, I guarantee none of them will break through our defenses,” the disciple confidently declared.
The Void Refinement stage cultivator nodded, impressed by the defense towers as they overwhelmed the beast race. These towers were truly formidable.
Suddenly, the two realms passage widened, and a flood of golden-armored serrated rat demons poured out from the natural passage. At a glance, there were at least a hundred thousand of them.
A beam of golden light appeared above the rat demons, shielding them from the defense towers’ attacks.
“What’s your plan now? These rat demons are only at the Transformation Stage,” the Void Refinement stage cultivator said with a smirk, clearly amused at the disciple’s predicament.
Without hesitation, the Hidden Spirit Sect Disciple pulled out a communication artifact and called out, “Tower Control Department, Tower Control Department, our Client wants to see the power of the four-type defense towers. Target: the newly appeared rat demons.”
“Copy that!” came the immediate reply from the communication artifact.
At that moment, two towering defense towers, each a hundred meters high and stationed at the human race’s third defense line, began to charge up.
“Senior, watch this,” the disciple said eagerly.
*Boom!*
A massive sphere of blue spiritual energy exploded, darkening the sky as if seawater were flooding in, engulfing all the golden-armored serrated rat demons.
*Boom!!*
A deafening thunderclap echoed across the heavens, followed by a blinding flash of lightning that struck the water’s surface.
In an instant, every single golden-armored serrated rat demon was electrocuted.
“Senior, how was that? Pretty impressive, huh?” The Hidden Spirit Sect Disciple’s eyes gleamed with pride.
This victory would surely elevate the reputation of their defense tower lineage across the cultivation world and bring in plenty of spirit stones for the sect.
“Not bad. We’ll discuss the details after this battle,” the Void Refinement stage cultivator said with a nod of approval.
“Perfect!” the disciple replied enthusiastically.
Xu Fan, who had been watching the scene through the light curtain, couldn’t help but smile.
Just then, a massive wolf appeared at the two realms passage, its shadow towering a thousand meters high in the air.
“Butcher Hand Sovereign, today is your end!” the wolf roared.
“You humans will also—”
Before the wolf could finish, a colossal fist slammed into it, sending it crashing back into the natural teleportation passage.
“Is your master still not back?” A deep, menacing voice filled with killing intent echoed through the air.
“Now that’s what I call domineering!” Xu Fan exclaimed, clearly impressed.
At that moment, a werewolf and a young girl appeared in the sky.
“Butcher Hand, you’re truly shameless, bullying our beast kings while we’re away,” the werewolf growled.
“Today, I’ll slaughter tens of thousands of humans to vent my rage,” a wild, untamed voice declared.
“Butcher Hand, you’d better watch out,” the girl added, her voice as clear as a silver bell.
“Ha! I’ve been waiting for you two,” Butcher Hand Sovereign retorted, his shadow transforming into a streak of light as he charged toward them.
By now, both the human and beast races had begun clearing the battlefield. The sheer power of Great Ascension Level combatants was far too dangerous for ordinary cultivators to withstand.
From his vantage point on Hidden Spirit Island, Xu Fan watched intently. “I wonder what kind of backup that beast king has prepared,” he mused.
The human race camp had become the epicenter of the battle, with overwhelming energy waves radiating from the clash.
Meanwhile, Ning Dao hid at a distance, his eyes fixed on the natural passage, waiting for the bullied beast kings to make their move.
Just then, six figures emerged from the natural passage of the two realms.
“They’re here,” Ning Dao murmured, his eyes lighting up. Now, it all depended on how reliable their external aid would be.
