Chapter 253: Yin-Yang Fortune Technique
Xu Yuexian stumbled upon a shop that had stood for tens of thousands of years within some ruins.
Inside, puppets were selling something called the Good Fortune Bag—a special kind of storage bag sourced from various worlds, each priced at 100,000 top-grade spirit stones.
Curious, Xu Yuexian decided to open the first Good Fortune Bag just to see what was inside, and that’s when things started to get interesting.
To her amazement, the first bag, worth 100,000 top-grade spirit stones, contained a Spiritual Sword.
The second bag yielded a Purple Life Pill.
As Xu Yuexian grew more cautious, the shop’s puppets explained the shop’s background.
This shop was connected to the Thousand Worlds through a teleportation formation, and the top-grade spirit stones used were linked to trading guilds across these worlds.
Xu Yuexian then found herself in a peculiar state, feeling as though each subsequent item she opened was more valuable than the last. She ended up buying all the Good Fortune Bags, with the final one containing a Mystical Transformation Pill.
After hearing Xu Yuexian’s story, Xu Fan clicked his tongue, “Not only are they playing tricks, but they’re also using illusions.”
“Master, what should I do? Is that shop now tied to me?” Xu Yuexian asked.
“It’s simple. From now on, your monthly spirit stone allowance is capped at 10 million top-grade spirit stones. That way, if you run into it again, it can’t swindle you,” Xu Fan said.
“Alright, I don’t really need that many spirit stones anyway,” Xu Yuexian sighed.
“Still, even though you lost out, some of these items are quite intriguing.”
Xu Fan waved his hand, and several jade plates floated from the small mountain of items into his grasp.
“These are techniques from the unconventional paths of other Thousand Worlds. They’re worth studying,” Xu Fan said, using the light shadow technique to project one of the techniques from a jade plate.
“The Puppet Transformation Technique. I wonder how it would affect our sect’s puppets.”
“And this one,” Xu Fan continued, projecting another technique.
“The Yin-Yang Fortune Technique. This is the first technique I’ve seen that can actually boost luck,” Xu Fan said with a grin.
A Yin-Yang Copper Coin appeared in Xu Fan’s hand, with the yang side on top and the yin side on the bottom.
Xu Fan flicked the coin, and a large bowl appeared beneath it.
The coin clinked against the bowl’s base, spinning until it landed with the yin side facing up.
“Oh no, that’s bad luck,” Xu Fan muttered. In the Yin-Yang Fortune Technique, the yin side up meant a day of misfortune.
“What does that mean?” Xu Yuexian asked, confused.
“It means I’m in for twelve hours of bad luck,” Xu Fan explained.
As soon as he said this, the side of the bowl facing up turned pitch black.
Xu Fan’s expression shifted slightly; he hadn’t expected a simple test to lead to such trouble.
“This is going to be rough,” Xu Fan added.
At that moment, a Gravity Alloy Rod appeared in the sky, hurtling straight toward Xu Fan.
“Look out!”
Xu Fan quickly gathered the mountain of items with a wave of his hand, grabbed Xu Yuexian, and vanished.
The Gravity Rod crashed down, piercing through the Hidden Spirit Sect’s protective grand formation and striking the spot where Xu Fan had just been standing.
Boom~~
The ground heaved, and the area where Xu Fan had just stood was now a pile of rubble.
“Master, Grape suddenly crashed for no apparent reason, and the sect’s grand formation stopped working too.”
By the spiritual liquid lake, Xu Fan stared at the distant ruins, his expression grim.
Have I used up all my luck recently? Xu Fan wondered.
Just then, waves rippled across the spiritual liquid lake, and the Tianji Turtle emerged.
The Tianji Turtle looked at Xu Fan, let out a soft hum, and then blew a colorful bubble that landed on Xu Fan’s head.
The bubble burst, enveloping Xu Fan in a radiant, three-colored glow.
Instantly, Xu Fan felt an overwhelming sense of relief; the dark cloud that had been hanging over him vanished.
Meanwhile, the Demon Suppressing Star above Hidden Spirit Island retracted the Alloy Gravity Rod it had been about to fire.
“Did the bad luck just vanish? Old turtle, I had no idea you could do that,” Xu Fan said, delighted.
The Tianji Turtle, like a seasoned expert who had just solved a junior’s problem, gave Xu Fan a light glance before slowly sinking back into the spiritual liquid lake.
“Are all refined turtles this aloof?” Xu Fan muttered.
It was nothing like the old turtle from the Dragon Palace.
“Master, is this the result of your yin-side gamble?”
“Yes. Once I refine the technique, just come by when you’re ready to explore the secret realm,” Xu Fan replied.
“Got it,” Xu Yuexian said.
Suddenly, a light curtain appeared in front of Xu Fan and Xu Yuexian.
It displayed the moment the Demon Suppressing Star retracted the Gravity Alloy Rod.
Xu Fan gasped. “Seriously? I was betting on today’s good luck, and you almost took my life!”
Xu Yuexian’s face paled. Were the side effects of the yin-side copper coin really this bad?
“Master, we were disrupted by some strange rules, and now the situation…”
“It’s fine, Grape. I know what happened,” Xu Fan said, waving his hand.
“I thought it was just a luck interference, but it turned out to be a full-on disruption.”
“That’s crossing the line,” Xu Fan said, still shaken.
If the Demon Suppressing Star had fired another Alloy Gravity Rod, he would’ve been seriously injured.
The attack power of the Alloy Gravity Rod exceeded the limits of the Core Formation stage; anyone at that level would struggle to survive if targeted.
At that moment, Xu Fan pulled a strand of Xu Yuexian’s causal aura, shaping it into a Yin-Yang Copper Coin.
“Master, what are you doing?” Xu Yuexian asked, puzzled, sensing that a part of her aura had been taken.
“Just an experiment,” Xu Fan said with a smile.
He tossed the Yin-Yang Copper Coin, and a large bowl appeared in the air.
“Clang~”
The yang side of the coin landed face-up in the bowl.
Suddenly, Xu Yuexian felt a jolt, as if she had entered into a significant contract.
Xu Fan then pulled out a trembling spirit array disk, his expression odd.
As soon as he revealed it, the disk transformed into a dark dragon and shot into Xu Yuexian’s body.
“Whoa, that worked way too fast,” Xu Fan said, surprised.
Xu Yuexian fell into a strange, trance-like state.
It wasn’t until nightfall that she finally snapped out of it.
“Master, that spirit array disk had a celestial tool spirit, and it’s now recognized me as its master,” Xu Yuexian said.
“What about the celestial tool itself?” Xu Fan asked.
“The spirit said the main body might be available at the shop linked to the Thousand Worlds,” Xu Yuexian replied.
“Ha! Not bad. The Yin-Yang Fortune Technique really lives up to its name as a divine ability of the Thousand Worlds. It’s seriously powerful,” Xu Fan said, laughing. Losing 150 million spirit stones to gain a celestial tool spirit was definitely a win.
