Chapter 188: Heavenly Power Spiritual Boat
After the Battle Royale game ended, Xu Fan looked at the bewildered expressions of the disciples and felt quite satisfied.
“The effect is good. Let’s keep going,” Xu Fan said with a smile.
He had wanted to create such a Game World within the sect before, but back then, Grape’s computing power was limited. A game of this level would have consumed more than half of Grape’s resources, so Xu Fan had shelved the idea.
Now that Grape had advanced, its computing power was a hundred times greater, allowing Xu Fan to finally bring his vision to life.
“Grape, how much computing power does the Battle Royale virtual world use at peak?” Xu Fan asked.
“It uses 0.3% of the total computing power.”
“Good,” Xu Fan nodded, satisfied that this wouldn’t interfere with other operations.
After the game ended, Xu Fan checked on the construction progress of the Hidden Spirit Sect’s outer island.
“The Outer Sect’s infrastructure is complete. Shouldn’t we start recruiting some outer disciples?” Xu Fan mused, stroking his chin.
“Currently, the sect’s external affairs aren’t too demanding—just some routine tasks.”
“Let’s recruit three hundred outer disciples below the Golden Core Stage,” Xu Fan decided.
“Grape, select three hundred Golden Core outer disciples from the Lin Sen Fairy City area,” Xu Fan instructed.
Thanks to the Elder Council’s authorization, Grape was overseeing most of the Lin Sen Fairy City area, with the remaining regions still waiting for the Precious Artifact Satellite to be deployed.
“Understood,” Grape replied.
After handling these matters, Xu Fan headed to the underground space.
Looking at the smoothly running Precious Artifact Satellite production line, he said, “The spirit stones we’ve earned are only enough to craft half a set of artifact-level Precious Artifact Satellites.”
“I wonder when my big satellite will finally make it to the sky,” Xu Fan sighed. Once the artifact-level Precious Artifact Satellite was operational, he’d have the means to confront powerful beings at the Core Formation stage.
“It’ll probably take a few decades.”
A voice from the first clone echoed from a distance.
Xu Fan turned to see the first clone grinding its teeth while crafting a Transformation Stage heavy armor puppet. It had already completed three.
“Good work,” Xu Fan said with a smile.
“………..” The first clone didn’t respond, continuing to focus on its task.
“This is just the beginning. Once the Titanium Spirit Ore arrives, those twelve artifact-level Giant Shields will be your responsibility,” Xu Fan said, still smiling.
“Can’t you craft them yourself?” the first clone frowned.
“I’m overseeing the demon race construction plan, so I’ll have to leave this to you,” Xu Fan replied.
“Master, are you even human?”
“Twelve artifact-level Giant Shields—do you think artifact crafting is as easy as growing cabbage?” the first clone shouted angrily.
“That’s why I gave you two years,” Xu Fan said, maintaining his smile. He knew he had to stay positive while delegating tasks to his clone.
“Then call the second clone to help,” the first clone insisted.
“No, he’s responsible for tasks outside of artifact crafting,” Xu Fan shook his head. He had assigned their roles when he created the two clones.
“Fine. If you’re just sitting around while I’m doing all the work, I’d rather break down into spirit and decompose.”
“Just go ahead and reassemble your clone. I’m done dealing with your attitude,” the first clone snapped angrily.
It felt unfair that while the main body wasn’t lifting a finger, even the clone of the same level was slacking off.
“It’s not about having too little, but about things being unfair, huh?” Xu Fan muttered, rubbing his temples.
With a wave of his hand, the second clone appeared beside Xu Fan, shooting a resentful look at the first clone.
“It was just a little argument. Did you really have to get back at me like this?” the second clone complained.
“Well, who told you to act all smug? I do more work, and you mock me for having no backbone or principles,” the first clone shot back.
“Come on, let’s get to work. We’re part of the same body, even if the main body didn’t give you the artifact crafting ability.”
“You can still pitch in,” the first clone said, feeling a smug sense of satisfaction after getting his revenge.
“Go on, work hard. Once this task is done, I’ll reward you with a month off and a novel to read,” Xu Fan promised.
Back when Xu Fan first created the clones, he had blocked their memories of their past lives.
It was an unintentional move, but after he once rewarded the two clones with an anime to watch, he stumbled upon a brilliant way to motivate them.
Now, novels, anime, movies, and TV shows had become his go-to tools for getting them to work.
“Really?” the two clones asked, their eyes lighting up.
“Of course it’s real.”
Instantly, the two clones were filled with energy and determination.
Watching them dive into work mode, Xu Fan couldn’t help but smile with satisfaction.
While capitalists use money to lure workers into factories for exploitation,
Xu Fan used mental treats to keep his two clones in line.
As he left the underground world, Xu Fan mused that he shouldn’t be so generous in the future. Maybe rewarding just ten or twenty episodes of anime would work even better, he thought.
Meanwhile, in the Lin Sen Fairy City area, three hundred honest Golden Core Stage cultivators received an invitation to join the Hidden Spirit Sect.
“To join, all you need to do is swear an oath of loyalty to the sect, and you’ll receive a standard set of third-tier precious artifacts.”
“Inside the sect, completing tasks earns you points that can be exchanged for Jiuyuan Pills to boost your chances of advancing to the Nascent Soul stage, or Nascent Soul Pills.”
“Every year, there’s a chance to exchange for fifth-level precious artifacts.”
“Free access to top-tier techniques……………..”
“You can even………………….”
To make the offer more convincing, shortly after receiving the message, they were each sent one thousand spirit stones from the Hidden Spirit Commerce.
It was called “travel expenses,” and whether they decided to join the Outer Sect or not, the spirit stones were theirs to keep.
The one thousand spirit stones instantly made the invitation feel more legitimate.
And so, three hundred Golden Core Stage cultivators set off toward the Ten Thousand-Mile Giant Lake.
By the edge of the lake, Shi Zhan had already prepared the spiritual boat and was waiting for their arrival.
As he gazed at the distant village by the lake, Shi Zhan couldn’t help but think of Feng Chang Ning.
“I wonder when I’ll get to see you again,” Shi Zhan sighed deeply. If it weren’t for his promise to become an Outer Sect Elder of the Hidden Spirit Sect, he’d be out there exploring the cultivation world with the one he loved.
As Shi Zhan was reminiscing about the happy times he had with Feng Chang Ning, a beam of light appeared in the distance, heading straight towards him.
"Excuse me, are you the Outer Sect Elder of the Hidden Spirit Sect?" asked a plump Golden Core cultivator.
"Yes, I am the Outer Sect Elder of the Hidden Spirit Sect. Please board the spiritual boat. Once the others arrive, we’ll head back to the sect," Shi Zhan responded, snapping out of his thoughts to address the approaching cultivator.
"Alright."
Without further questions, the chubby Golden Core cultivator stepped onto Shi Zhan’s spiritual boat.
Being one of the lowest-ranked wandering cultivators in the cultivation world, he was usually without resources, connections, or spirit stones.
He wanted to join a sect, but most sects didn’t think much of people like him.
Noticing Shi Zhan’s impressive gear, the Golden Core cultivator quietly tucked away his first-tier precious artifact into his storage bag.
"Friend, can you really exchange for high-quality techniques and precious artifacts in the Hidden Spirit Sect?" the Golden Core cultivator inquired.
"Absolutely, as long as you remain loyal to the sect."
"You’ve all seen the information. Swear an oath of loyalty to the Hidden Spirit Sect, and you’ll receive a set of third-tier precious artifacts."
"Then, by diligently completing tasks within the sect, you can exchange for things you never thought possible," Shi Zhan explained.
Having been a wandering cultivator himself, Shi Zhan understood their plight—without resources or spirit stones, they had no way to improve their situation except by risking their lives.
"Do you have the Cleanse Soul Pill? My partner has been poisoned by a malevolent spirit, and her soul is injured. I need that pill," the Golden Core cultivator asked urgently.
Upon hearing about the Hidden Spirit Sect, he had rushed here without a second thought, solely to get a Cleanse Soul Pill.
"We should have the Cleanse Soul Pill; it’s only a third-tier spirit pill," Shi Zhan replied. From his talks with Qiu Ziyuan, he knew that the Hidden Spirit Sect had a peak full of alchemists.
"Thank you for the information, friend," the Golden Core cultivator said gratefully. Even though it was a third-grade spirit pill, it was hard for him to afford such a rare pill outside.
"No problem," Shi Zhan said kindly.
As more cultivators arrived, the atmosphere on the spiritual boat started to buzz with excitement.
Suddenly, several Nascent Soul stage beasts emerged from the lake, charging towards the spiritual boat.
Instantly, all the cultivators on the boat panicked, ready to flee.
Just as they were about to react, the beasts were swiftly slain by a Nascent Soul Stage puppet with a single slash.
The shadow of the giant knife stretched over a hundred meters, nearly paralyzing a few timid cultivators with fear.
"Everyone, calm down. This is a puppet from the Hidden Spirit Sect; it’s on our side," Shi Zhan said. Before coming, Xu Fan had mentioned there would be a show, and Shi Zhan was to play along.
However, he hadn’t expected it to be such a dramatic "kill the chicken to scare the monkey" tactic.
Looking at the now obedient Golden Core cultivators on the boat, Shi Zhan couldn’t help but think, although it was a bit cliché, it was certainly effective.
Meanwhile, Xu Fan was not paying attention to these minor details. He was too busy being amazed by his Brother Sha.
"Elder Xu, what do you think? The Heavenly Power Spiritual Boat I made is pretty good, right?" Sha Diao asked.
Outside Hidden Spirit Island, Xu Fan was staring in awe at the nearly thousand-meter-long giant ship before him.
"Elder Xu, I removed the flying feature from the Heavenly Power Spiritual Boat and used all the extra space for defensive formations."
"Now, not even a Core Formation stage cultivator can break through this spiritual boat."
"With it, we can navigate freely in the shallow areas of the Endless Sea," Sha Diao said proudly.
Xu Fan’s eyes sparkled with spirit light as the formation of the Heavenly Power Spiritual Boat appeared in his mind.
"Brother, don’t you think this giant boat is a bit slow, even though its defense is top-notch?" Xu Fan asked. He was impressed by the giant ship crafted by Brother Sha.
Just the defensive formation alone was something most artifact masters couldn’t inscribe, capable of withstanding attacks from Core Formation stage cultivators.
"I’ve already thought of that, so I made several components for the Heavenly Power Spiritual Boat."
