Chapter 163: Overflowing Life Energy.

The body of the Void Refinement stage cultivator was vaporized by the beam from the laser cannon, leaving only the head behind.

Suddenly, a coffin-like precious artifact appeared, and the head slipped inside, vanishing into thin air.

"Why didn’t I aim for the head?" Xu Fan wondered, surprised by the laser cannon’s power to pierce through a Void Refinement stage cultivator.

Endless lightning continued to ravage the land, and beneath the ground, a broken body lay, barely clinging to life.

"There’s still a little insect here; take it back for Yuexian to handle personally."

The ground softened, and a figure slowly emerged from beneath.

The Transformation Stage cultivator was severely injured and unconscious, lying on the ground without any ability to resist.

Xu Fan controlled the puppet to approach him and pointed at the center of the Transformation Stage cultivator’s forehead, sealing his Nascent Soul.

Just then, a Nascent Soul Stage cultivator approached; this was Li Xingci’s Rebirth Servant, the strongest among them.

"Find a way to bring him back to Hidden Spirit Island," Xu Fan instructed.

"Understood," the Rebirth Servant replied coldly.

In the time chamber, Xu Fan sighed in relief; he had avenged half of his disciple’s grievances, and the rest would wait until he reached the Golden Core Stage.

Xu Fan’s shadow clone appeared in Xu Yuexian’s residence, where Little Xi was feeding Xu Yuexian by her bedside.

After six months of recovery, Xu Yuexian could barely sit up.

"Yuexian, how do you feel? I told you to take another drop of wood essence, but you refused," Xu Fan said reproachfully.

After returning, Xu Yuexian had taken a drop of wood essence to save her life, followed by two more to stabilize her condition. Xu Fan had wanted to give her more, but Xu Yuexian, now awake, stubbornly refused out of concern.

"And you didn’t even use the Phoenix Blood Pills your Master gave you," Xu Fan added.

"Master, including the drop that was stolen, that’s four drops of wood essence. If converted to spirit stones, I wouldn’t be able to afford it even after a century of treasure hunting."

"Besides, my body is already overflowing with life energy. More wood essence won’t make much difference," Xu Yuexian said weakly.

Little Xi, standing nearby, set down the spirit porridge and gently wiped the blood Xu Yuexian had just coughed up from her lips.

Xu Fan sat beside Xu Yuexian, shaking his head as he infused another drop of wood essence into her body.

"Don’t equate yourself to spirit stones; you’re my disciple. That alone makes your life more precious than anyone else’s."

As Xu Fan spoke, he waved his hand, projecting a light curtain in mid-air.

"I’ve already collected some interest for your grievances."

The light curtain displayed images, from the appearance of the Void Refinement stage cultivator to the moment he was reduced to just a head and fled in a coffin-like artifact.

"At first, I couldn’t track down the Void Refiner who robbed your treasures."

"But who would’ve thought this fool would carry the space ring I made for you? I waited in hiding for nearly half a year and finally caught him," Xu Fan said.

"Soon, his Transformation Stage accomplice will be brought here, and you can decide his fate."

Seeing the images on the light curtain, Xu Yuexian, feeling much better, said gratefully, "Master, thank you."

"No need for thanks. Just focus on your cultivation; I plan to rely on you two for my retirement," Xu Fan said with a smile.

For Xu Fan, Xu Gang and Xu Yuexian were like his own children; he had spent more time as a father figure than as a master.

Hearing Xu Fan say this, Xu Yuexian remembered the times when she and her brother would snuggle next to their master under the starry sky, listening to his stories, and how he would say similar things after finishing a tale.

"By the way, where’s your brother?" Xu Fan asked.

During Xu Yuexian’s recovery, Xu Gang and Little Xi had been taking care of her.

"My brother went to the trial tower to train. Ever since I got hurt, he’s been feeling guilty."

"He keeps saying how he couldn’t protect his sister and take revenge. I’ve tried to comfort him, but it hasn’t helped much."

"Recently, he’s come to terms with it and now trains at the trial tower every day," Xu Yuexian explained.

"With me here, your brother doesn’t need to worry about revenge."

"In a little over a year, I’ll advance to the Golden Core Stage, and then I’ll teach you even more powerful techniques," Xu Fan said.

"Okay."

Just then, Wang Yulun and his family came to visit Xu Yuexian.

"Yuexian, this is a raw crystal stone I found by chance. Grind it into powder and use it as incense; it will help with your recovery," Wang Yulun said.

Murong Qianer then took out an incense burner and began grinding the raw crystal stone.

Wang Xiangchi hung a Spiritual Sword on the wall.

"Senior sister, this is a fortune sword I got at the borders of Moliang State. It brings good luck to its wielder. I’ve relied on it for over a decade on the battlefield, and now I’m giving it to you."

"Thank you, master uncle, and thank you, younger brother," Xu Yuexian said with a smile. She had seen much darkness in the cultivation world, but returning to the sect felt like coming home, washing away all that darkness.

After Wang Yulun’s family left, Xu Fan looked at Xu Yuexian and said, "Your injuries should fully heal in about a year."

"Once I recover, I’ll stay in the sect. The fusion of the two realms is coming soon. After things settle down, I’ll venture out again."

"Yes, I still have three drops of wood essence to absorb. Once I’m healed, I’ll go into seclusion to advance. I might even reach the mid-Nascent Soul stage," Xu Yuexian said, feeling the immense life energy within her.

Though her injuries were serious, two drops of wood essence would have been enough to heal her. Now, with an extra drop, life energy was overflowing with every move she made.

"Good, having a goal is important for your cultivation. I won’t say more; I need to go cultivate," Xu Fan said before disappearing.

"Burp~~~"

Xu Yuexian burped, and the room was instantly filled with life energy.

"Sister-in-law, could you get me some spirit herbs later? Preferably ones that absorb life energy. I want to keep them close," Xu Yuexian said, feeling a bit regretful, as the overflowing life energy was worth at least a thousand spirit stones.

"Haha, look how much master spoils you. He saw you bleeding and immediately gave you a drop of wood essence," Little Xi said with envy.

"Sigh, such a wasteful master! My injuries would have healed with some rest; the wood essence wasn’t even necessary," Xu Yuexian said, burping again.

Once more, the room was filled with life energy.

Somewhere on the outskirts of Black Sea Fairy City, a coffin-shaped precious artifact emerged from a space crack.

A very weak figure stepped out of the coffin-like artifact.

"Thankfully, I had a drop of wood essence; otherwise, I would have been finished."
