Chapter 143: Spirit Feeding Pills

“Xingci, do you think our souvenir stones will become popular?” Xu Fan asked with a smile.

“They will. No one can escape their emotions; a normal man will always be drawn to young and beautiful female cultivators until the very end,” Li Xingci nodded and replied. Among his Rebirth Servants was a stunning female cultivator known for her unique beauty, making her his greatest asset.

“Haha, when we make some spirit stones from this, I’ll get myself a small Sea Ship,” Xu Fan said happily, like a child excited to buy their favorite toy after earning some money.

Meanwhile, not far away on the Ten Thousand-Mile Giant Lake, Lei Wenxi was quietly feeding a giant turtle.

“Yi Wei, don’t fight; there’s enough for everyone.”

Lei Wenxi began feeding the turtles one spirit feeding pill at a time, gently shooing away those that had already eaten.

After finishing the regular spirit feeding pills, Lei Wenxi pulled out a homemade spirit feeding pill the size of a basketball.

“Little turtle, this is a spirit feeding pill I made myself.”

“I noticed that the usual formula for spirit feeding pills is mostly made of flowers and spiritual fruits—pretty plain stuff.”

“So, I decided to use some unused beast bones and their blood and flesh from the sect’s storage to create a special spirit feeding pill just for you.”

“Try it and let me know how it tastes,” Lei Wenxi said nervously. It was her first time refining pills, and she wasn’t sure if it would be well-received.

Previously, Lei Wenxi had been casually feeding the turtles standard spirit feeding pills daily. But while browsing the Sutra Pavilion, she stumbled upon a jade slip that discussed how to care for spirit beasts. In it, she found specific advice on feeding turtle spirit beasts, which sparked an idea.

Using beast bones and flesh from the sect’s cold storage, she experimented and refined a massive spirit feeding pill, knowing that turtles couldn’t thrive on plants alone—they needed some meat in their diet too.

The modified spirit feeding pill was divided into eleven portions and tossed into the lake.

“I’ll save Liu Wei’s portion for tomorrow,” Lei Wenxi said, trying to be fair.

As soon as the large portions of the spirit feeding pill hit the lake’s surface, the entire lake began to churn. The beasts that were usually kept in check by the Transformation God-level giant turtles erupted into chaos, all rushing toward the eleven turtles with a crazed look in their eyes, as if something more valuable than their own lives was at stake.

Waves surged across the lake, and the giant turtles emerged from the water, their massive heads turning to face the approaching beasts threatening their young.

“Roar~~~”

One of the giant turtles raised a massive paw and slammed it down on the lake’s surface.

A dark wave erupted, sending the surrounding beasts flying.

By then, the eleven turtles had already finished their spirit feeding pills, and the lake quickly returned to calm.

“Wenxi, come over here.”

Xu Fan called out from the edge of the lake.

Lei Wenxi rode a turtle over to Xu Fan.

“Grand Elder~~” Lei Wenxi said timidly, feeling like she might have done something wrong.

“Come here; let me see that homemade spirit feeding pill of yours,” Xu Fan said with a smile. He hadn’t even considered creating a pill himself.

Lei Wenxi handed over the last remaining portion of the spirit feeding pill.

“Golden Core Stage beast bone powder and essence of blood and flesh—this is interesting,” Xu Fan said, looking up at Lei Wenxi. “Now, tell me how you managed to refine this spirit feeding pill.”

“Well, I started experimenting with the free blood and flesh from the cold storage.”

“First, I did this…”

“Then, just like that…”

“In the end, it worked out.”

After saying this, Lei Wenxi lowered her head, feeling a bit shy.

“You didn’t make a mistake; in fact, you deserve praise.”

“I’ve upgraded your authority to level one. In your free time, you can continue to create spirit pills. I support you,” Xu Fan said gently, pleased to see such creativity in his disciple.

“Really? Thank you, Grand Elder.” Lei Wenxi quickly bowed in gratitude, her timid expression immediately turning joyful.

“Go back and keep creating.”

Xu Fan then fed the last spirit feeding pill to the giant turtle sitting nearby.

After watching Lei Wenxi leave, Li Xingci said to Xu Fan, “Disciples recruited by your methods are always exceptional.”

“Haha, of course.”

At that moment, Xu Fan’s Communication Artifact rang. It was Xu Yuexian requesting a connection to the stand-in puppet.

“Your second senior sister needs something. Let me check.”

Xu Fan took out a unique artifact and focused his spirit into it.

In an instant, his three disciples and his good brother appeared before him.

“Master, today we ran into Uncle Wang and Wang Xiangchi here in Moliang State,” Xu Yuexian said happily.

“Has the beast race’s offensive been pushed back?” Xu Fan asked.

“Yes, it was repelled the day before,” Xu Gang replied, thinking about how it was his first time being so far from Master.

“As long as you’re all safe.”

Xu Fan then turned his attention to the father and son.

“Yulun’s cultivation hasn’t improved much; it’s still the same as before.”

“But Wang Xiangchi, your progress has surprised me. Your sword intent is restrained, and your energy is perfectly balanced. You’ve crossed the threshold of the Golden Core Stage,” Xu Fan praised, noting that the path of the Sword Immortal was one of the most challenging yet powerful paths in the pursuit of immortality.

Now, Wang Xiangchi could truly be said to have entered the path through the sword.

“Thank you, Master,” Wang Xiangchi said with a smile, feeling thrilled to earn Master’s approval, which was a significant milestone in his swordsmanship.

“Big Brother Xu, I plan to take Qianer and Wang Xiangchi back to the Hidden Spirit Sect for seclusion,” Wang Yulun said, feeling that his luck had been off lately, as he’d been injured repeatedly on the battlefield.

His cultivation even seemed to be regressing.

“Your daughter isn’t coming back?” Xu Fan asked curiously.

“She joined the Flame Moon Sacred Land a few years ago and is likely cultivating there now.”

“Alright, hurry back. Right now, it’s just Li Xingci and me at the Hidden Spirit Sect, and we really need you, the elder of Baizhan Peak, to come back and take charge,” Xu Fan joked.

When it came to battles, his good brother probably couldn’t even handle his own son now, let alone this one standing before him.

“Haha, here’s a joke: the elder of Baizhan Peak at the Hidden Spirit Sect can’t even beat his own son,” Wang Yulun laughed.

“Now you realize your fighting strength isn’t up to par. Back then, I taught you everything step by step, but you didn’t take it seriously. Now you’ve been surpassed by the younger generation.”

“Come back, and I’ll teach you a powerful technique that will make you unstoppable,” Xu Fan said.

“Yuexian, reimburse Uncle Wang for all the teleportation fees needed to return to the central continent. Skip the Dragon Cart; just set up a teleportation formation for them to come back directly,” Xu Fan said generously, knowing that once Wang Yulun returned, there would be plenty of benefits to offset the cost of the spirit stones for the teleportation formation.

“Understood,” Xu Yuexian nodded, recalling that Xu Fan had instructed her to bring something for Uncle Wang on her way, so she could simply exchange it for spirit stones upon returning.

“Big Brother Xu, there’s no need to go to such lengths; I…”

Wang Yulun was about to decline when Xu Fan cut him off.

“I’d like to save spirit stones too, but I’m afraid if I save too much, I might end up losing you altogether,” Xu Fan said, his words carrying a deeper meaning.
