Chapter 106: Pang Fu
A day later, Xu Yuexian took the Treasure Hunting Instrument from Xu Fan.
“Here are the spirit stones, and this jade slip has the shopping list. Take your wife out, enjoy some time together while you shop,” Xu Fan told Wang Yulun.
The day before, Xu Fan had given Wang Yulun the Spiritual Energy Armor to help him settle into the Nascent Soul Stage. Now, it was time for Wang Yulun to go out and hunt for treasures, especially Spirit Heart Ore. Xu Fan needed it to craft two Hearts of the Puppet for his upcoming projects. He also hoped to get some soul iron, as many of his big plans would require it.
When Wang Yulun checked the space ring, he was stunned—he’d never seen so many spirit stones in one place.
“A hundred million spirit stones? Aren’t you worried I’ll run off with my family?” Wang Yulun joked.
“Cut the nonsense. What you gave me is worth a billion spirit stones.”
“If you want these spirit stones, just say so. If you hesitate, you’re not my brother,” Xu Fan said with a grin, secretly hoping Wang Yulun would take the spirit stones so he could plan something bigger.
“Boring. I’m heading out to shop and spend some quality time with my wife,” Wang Yulun said, ready to leave.
“Take these with you,” Xu Fan said, tossing him two masks.
“These are concealment artifacts. They’ll change your appearance and mask your soul essence. From now on, everyone in the Hidden Spirit Sect will wear these when we go out.”
Wang Yulun gave Xu Fan a puzzled look. Why would they need these when they had no enemies here?
“We’re called the Hidden Spirit Sect for a reason. The ‘hidden’ part is key. Our sect will operate in secrecy.”
“Disciples aren’t allowed to mention the sect when they’re out training,” Xu Fan explained.
Wang Yulun nodded. “Sounds like your style. I like it.”
With that, Wang Yulun flew off toward the main peak to get ready for his trip.
Left alone by the lake, Xu Fan began planning.
“First, I’ll set up the defense system for Hidden Spirit Island. Then, I’ll create a satellite detection system for the Ten Thousand-Mile Giant Lake. After that, I’ll build an underwater puppet mining and combat force.”
“Once we start collecting spirit iron ore, I’ll analyze the market, design a popular precious artifact, and set up a production line for it.”
As Xu Fan ran through his plans, he suddenly realized he didn’t have enough spirit stones.
He sighed, looking at the spirit stones in his space ring. Spirit stones were like money—they were never enough.
“Am I really going to become one of those people constantly chasing after spirit stones?”
“If only Pang Fu were here. He’d be perfect for that kind of life.”
……………………..
In a bustling fairy city in Zhongzhou, a transportation hub, a portly shop owner sneezed.
“I’m at the Foundation Establishment stage—why am I still getting sick?” Pang Fu muttered to himself.
Just then, a young man with a simple, honest face came in, carrying a pot of tea.
“Shuo’er, you should’ve chosen Master Xu as your teacher instead of following your father into the business world.”
“Look at us now. Your father was about to make big moves in Xiangzhou, but then the beast race attacked. All his hard work went down the drain.”
“Now, with the little we have left, we can’t even make a ripple in this thriving Zhongzhou,” Pang Fu said, holding a communication artifact his trading company had planned to launch in Xiangzhou. He sighed, feeling defeated.
Ever since Xu Fan had opened his eyes at the Forbidden Ground Defense Line, Pang Fu’s trading company had skyrocketed like it was on fire. After decades of effort, he was on the verge of completing an unprecedented information transmission network. But the beast race invasion had shattered all his dreams.
With the few spirit stones he had left, there weren’t many after arriving in Zhongzhou.
“I’m interested in the business world, so I want to follow my father’s path,” said the young man. Ever since he was little, he understood that in this world, there was nothing that spirit stones couldn’t solve; if there was, it just meant he needed more spirit stones.
“After observing for a while, I realized that the market in Xiangzhou was just a small pond.”
“And here in the central continent, it’s the Endless Sea.”
“Your father doesn’t have confidence in recreating the glory of Xiangzhou here,” Pang Fu sighed.
Business here had already become systematic and standardized; if he truly wanted to carve out a space for himself, he would have to take from others.
At that moment, a couple walked past the shop. Pang Fu casually glanced at them but suddenly sprang up and rushed toward the couple.
Wang Yulun and his wife, now wearing masks, looked at the portly man and said, “Pang, it’s been a long time! How did you recognize me?”
“Finally, a familiar face! Meeting an old friend in a strange place,” Pang Fu exclaimed excitedly. He wasn’t just thrilled to see Wang Yulun and his wife; he hoped to find a clue about Xu Fan from them.
“I recognize the Fabric Transformation Ball on Wang and Murong’s hands,” Pang Fu said with a smile.
In a private room of a hotel catering to cultivators,
“I know about Big Brother Xu, but to meet him, you’ll need his permission. You know his nature,” Wang Yulun replied. After being out for a month of shopping, he didn’t expect to run into old acquaintances before heading home.
As Xu Fan’s brother, he certainly understood the importance of Xu Fan’s partners.
“I understand. Then please let Wang know,” Pang Fu nodded. When he was at Que Tian Gate, he had once tried to bring an outsider to see Xu Fan because of Xu Fan’s identity as an artifact master. That event had nearly severed their connection, and since then, he had remembered it well.
“Alright, I will use this to contact you then,” Wang Yulun said, raising the Type Two precious artifact communication device in his hand. Even though the signal was weak on Hidden Spirit Island, he could still send a message.
After exchanging contact rune information, Wang Yulun and Pang Fu separated. For a while afterward, Pang Fu did nothing but stare at the communication artifact in his hand.
“Dad, are there any business opportunities?” Pang Fu’s son asked.
“No, but there’s an opportunity for us to rise again.”
Pang Fu believed that after meeting Xu Fan and collaborating with him, he could rise once more.
Xu Fan, who was teaching a group of children to read, was overjoyed when he received the message that Pang Fu wanted to see him.
Xu Fan immediately called Li Xingci over, instructing him to carry on his great educational mission.
In the dojo, Xu Fan greeted the returning Wang Yulun and his wife.
After their trip, their relationship had grown significantly.
“Was there any trouble on the way?” Xu Fan asked, worried that their large purchases would attract attention.
“Someone did keep an eye on us, but from the moment we started shopping, Qianer and I didn’t leave the fairy city.”
“After shopping, we directly teleported to our Lin Sen Fairy City, and you know, the teleportation center’s address is something we dare not disclose.”
“So we returned safely,” Wang Yulun said wisely.
“By the way, did you see Pang Fu?”
Xu Fan was about to say of course he had, but he realized the wording was a bit off, so he said, “Send him the address; we have a new minister for our foreign business department.”
