Chapter 41: Breaking Illusions
Strange cries came from the mouths of the newcomers.
How many people are on this level? About thirty, with various professions, including the common Karoso and even professions like warlock and Shaman.
The cultists clashed with them, cards flying everywhere.
Soon, casualties appeared among the newcomers, and more cultists kept coming to join the battle.
No, they could die, but not without value.
This dungeon requires many people to conquer together!
Karoso instinctively reached into his pocket.
At that moment, faint red lines appeared on Karoso’s face.
The pattern did not show much at first, but then Karoso suddenly felt something was wrong.
What about bullet comments?
Karoso took out a card, poured a little magic into it, and in an instant, the scene in front of him began to shatter.
[Master Karoso, Master Karoso, can you move!]
[What’s going on?]
[Oh no, am I in trouble?]
[Didn’t Master Karoso skip the first level and wear the opponent’s clothes?]
[Darn it, these guys are making me nervous just by looking at me.]
[Master Karoso won’t fail, right?]
[If Master Karoso didn’t react in time, these things would come to attack… darn!]
After waking up, Karoso was also slightly surprised.
All the cultists on this corridor were looking at him with cold eyes!
The people brought by the cultists, no matter if they were dead or alive, had iron chains tied to their hands, with the cultists leading one end.
Karoso silently took out a chain from his clothes and tied up the cultist who had knocked out behind him.
Click!
Those cultists all turned their heads back at the same time and continued forward, Karoso breathed a sigh of relief.
I was right, the effect of this Field Magic can influence me personally, only cultists can be immune to its effects.
When I was walking just now, I forgot something very important, the bullet comments!
Phew, I’m glad I reacted quickly, or else I would have really had to fight them.
So, this wall being able to absorb bodies and stuff, is it something I imagined or is it really true?
Pat, pat, pat…
Soon, everyone reached the end of the corridor. There were four doors at the end, each cultist went through a different door, seemingly without any pattern.
Karoso focused his energy and started observing the people they were leading.
Among them, Karoso could recognize the outsiders who were all taken to the fourth door.
Could it be, regular people, first-tier, second-tier, third-tier?
Karoso followed some cultists and entered the door of the third level.
It was a huge room with many bronze chairs, besides the chairs, there was nothing else there, completely empty.
Those newcomers all had happy faces and willingly sat on the chairs.
It is certain that these people’s mental strength is not as good as Karoso’s. It’s been more than ten minutes since Karoso woke up.
The cultists tied them to the chairs with chains, even tying the bodies to the chairs. Karoso followed suit and put the cultist he caught up there too.
After the cultists were all tied up, they left the room one by one.
Phew, only seven familiar faces, where is Neymar?
Karoso seized the moment and, after the last cultist left, walked over to a newcomer he knew.
Smack!
Karoso slapped him directly, and the person was momentarily stunned, completely awake.
He saw himself tied to the chair and instinctively struggled.
Oh no, what’s happening? Wasn’t I just being brave and strong a moment ago?
Karoso quickly ran to another familiar person.
Crack!
Another slap, and that person was awakened by Karoso.
"Hey, why did you hit me?" the first outsider shouted.
Karoso ignored him and quickly left the room. He needed to blend in with the crowd.
The two classmates looked at each other and Number One quickly said, "We were just tricked!"
"Yes!" Number Two nodded quickly, "These mental attacks are hard to defend against, I didn’t even see them using cards."
"Could it be sneakily planted, or a Field Magic Card?" Number One frowned.
"Field Magic Card?" Number Two was startled, "Isn’t this something we shouldn’t be experiencing?"
"In a dungeon of 120 people, anything can happen." Number One held up a card, infused it with magic, and pulled hard.
Snap, the iron chains broke!
"Never mind, let’s rescue the people first. Don’t forget our mission to defeat Karoso and conquer the dungeon." Number One went to Number Two’s side and forcefully broke the chains on his hands.
"That guy just now was so strange, we all fell victim to his mental attack. If he hadn’t fought us, we wouldn’t have known when we would wake up." Number Two complained.
"He might be a fool." Number One casually said.
"Wait, could it be one of our people?" Suddenly, Number Two thought of a possibility.
"What profession are you?" asked Number One.
"I’m a Pastor, don’t you know?" Number Two gave Number One a look.
"I remember you had powerful magic, right? You got hit but don’t know when it happened. If he’s as strong as us, he couldn’t have been captured or killed easily. How can he be slapping us wearing cultist robes? It’s unlikely for someone from our group to be so much stronger than us." Number One said, "There’s no dungeon we can’t conquer, maybe this is the way out of the dungeon!"
"That’s right."
Suddenly, a faint chill filled the room.
Dark hands emerged from the ground, followed by shadowy figures crawling out one by one.
Their faces showed greed as they muttered, "Freedom, freedom…"
"Exchange, freedom…"
"I’ll save people, you purify them with Holy Light!" Number One’s expression changed.
"Alright!" Number Two threw a card, a magic wand landed in his hand, and a sacred expression appeared on his face, "Holy Light, cleanse everything!"
……
Karoso got mixed in with the crowd, entered an elevator, the elevator kept going down, and arrived at the first floor.
After Karoso got out of the elevator, he saw a courtyard outside the window.
This floor also had single rooms everywhere, just better and bigger than the ones above.
The cultists entered their rooms one by one, Karoso noticed one room was empty, and he went in alone.
Inside, there was a bed, a nightstand, a desk, a chair, and a private bathroom.
Karoso walked to the desk and found a diary on it.
Karoso sat down, opened the diary, and saw on the first page, "When the stars align, our master will descend again, granting us eternal life. Netherworld Flower is the best gift for our master."
[Netherworld Flower?]
[I remembered a Legend Card…]
[Hehehe, I thought of it too.]
[Wow, the Netherworld Flower is in this dungeon? I know how to conquer it now!]
