Volume 3 + Chapter 143: The Evil Villain
James went all-in, ready to secure victory.
Just as everyone thought it was all over, an earth-shattering plot twist no one saw coming unfolded.
“Just kidding~”
With a playful smile, Xia Yi defeated James with a single sword strike.
In an instant, the once-imposing fist fighter was sent flying through the air before crashing heavily to the ground.
James—KO’d in one hit!
“He got one-shoted…?!”
Brand’s eyes widened in disbelief, wondering if he was hallucinating.
The others were equally stunned into silence.
If before, the Three-Person Team had lost due to overconfidence in their numbers, underestimating Xia Yi’s strength and giving her an opening…
This was completely different.
James had repeatedly warned them—Xia Yi was strong, and they had to take her seriously.
Brand hadn’t doubted him. He had strategized meticulously, treating this like a battle against a ferocious high-level monster.
Under these circumstances, there was no way James had held back—he had gone all out.
And yet, he still got one-shot.
“Am I dreaming?” Kobe’s face twitched.
“She’s gotta be cheating!!”
“How is Xia Yi, who ranked at the bottom of the Magic Department, this strong?! Wait, isn’t she a mage? Why is her swordsmanship so overpowered that she can one-shot James, one of the Fist Combat Department’s top students?!”
Everyone present began to waver.
“Don’t just stand there! Priest, hurry up and heal James—maybe there’s still hope to wake him up?” Xia Yi reminded them sweetly.
The priest stared at the smirking, scheming loli, his mentality on the verge of collapse.
How was he supposed to heal this?!
James was completely knocked out—it would require constant, uninterrupted healing. Wasn’t that just volunteering to be a live target?!
From hopeful to utterly… hopeless.
“Captain Brand, what should we do?!” the priest asked urgently.
All eyes turned to Brand.
With James out of commission, Brand was now the de facto leader.
“This is bad…”
Brand glanced at the Rampaging Tortoise and Stormfang Wolf emblems lying on the ground.
To obtain these high-value emblems, they had to defeat Xia Yi—but was that even possible now?
Fight or flee…?
“Seems like you’re hesitant to fight. That won’t do—let me help you find your courage!”
Xia Yi summoned her Rose Staff, raised it high, and slammed it into the ground.
A pre-set magic circle activated.
Whoosh—!!
Walls of fire erupted, trapping everyone inside and cutting off all escape routes.
It was as if the area had been transformed into an arena.
The flames wouldn’t dissipate until a victor was decided.
She was forcing them to fight.
Not only was she smurfing and crushing their morale—she wasn’t even letting them run away.
This was Bully Xia Yi in action.
“Let’s go all out!!”
Brand had no choice left. Gritting his teeth, he stepped forward, taking James’ place.
“Captain Brand…”
“Right now, we have no other options! Might as well gamble everything! What if we win?!” Brand rallied his teammates. “If we unite, there’s still hope!! Remember what our teachers taught us—until the very end, the outcome isn’t decided! Perseverance will lead us to victory!!”
The remaining members nodded, their fighting spirit somewhat restored.
In this atmosphere, they resembled a band of underdog protagonists about to stage a miraculous comeback.
Standing opposite them, Xia Yi looked every bit the evil final boss.
“FIGHT!!!”
Brand roared.
Just like before, he began directing the battle—first, the tank would hold the front, while he and the flanking swordsman launched their assault…
“The same trick won’t work twice~”
Xia Yi’s voice whispered beside Brand as she blurred past him.
He froze for a second before realizing—
“Fall back!! Protect the priest and mage!!”
Too late.
The first to fall was the priest.
Xia Yi dove straight into the backline, leaving the mage no time to cast spells.
Their most crucial support was down in an instant.
This was beyond unfair!!
Her speed was practically assassin-tier.
A swordsman’s offense, an assassin’s mobility, a mage’s magic…
How were they supposed to counter this?!
“What do we do, Captain Brand?!”
“Don’t freeze up—give us orders!!”
“Should we still try to protect the mage?!”
Under the barrage of questions, Brand’s stress levels skyrocketed.
This wasn’t a problem willpower could solve.
I… I…
“I surrender.”
Brand tore off his gauntlets and threw them to the ground, raising his hands.
The others fell silent.
But after a moment, they realized—yeah, might as well give up now. No point eating another beating.
One by one, they dropped their weapons.
“Aww, surrendering already? How boring.” Xia Yi puffed her cheeks, dissatisfied.
“Those two emblems are yours, Xia Yi. You won.”
Brand had no intention of fighting anymore. He motioned for his team to carry the priest away.
“We’ll take our leave now…”
Seeing Brand about to escape, Kobe and Frank panicked.
They rushed forward, blocking Team Trash’s path.
“No way!! A bet’s a bet—you’re handing over your emblems too! You dragged us into this mess—if we’re going down, you’re coming with us!” Frank snapped, fully embracing the “drowning man pulls others under” mentality.
“Have you lost your mind?!”
Brand’s eyes bulged.
“I came here to help you out of goodwill! How dare you bite the hand that feeds you?! Where’s your conscience?!”
“Hmph, trying to run?” Kobe shouted. “Xia Yi! He’s got one of the highest-scoring emblems—don’t let him escape!!”
“I don’t, I swear!!” Brand hastily defended.
“Oh really?”
Xia Yi blocked Brand’s path.
“Show me.”
“…Fine!”
Reluctantly, Brand handed over Team Trash’s collected monster emblems.
Xia Yi took them and examined them carefully.
“See, Xia Yi? I told you I didn’t have it!” Brand said.
“Mm, you’re right!”
Xia Yi smiled.
Brand sighed in relief—it seemed his team was safe. As for the Three-Person Team’s fate? Not his problem.
What he didn’t realize was… a Silver Dragon’s smile never boded well.
“Brand, I’m confiscating all these emblems.”
“…Huh?”
Brand’s expression froze.
“You lost to me. By the rules, they’re mine now,” Xia Yi explained.
“But you’re only collecting the highest-scoring emblems for each attribute, right? These are useless to you—just let us keep them!”
Brand was desperate.
If this kept up, his team was guaranteed to rank at the bottom.
“Want them back?” Xia Yi asked.
“Yes! Absolutely!”
Brand nodded vigorously.
He had already fallen completely into her rhythm.
“Then you’ll have to obey me and cooperate.”
“I…”
Brand exhaled in defeat.
Not like he had a choice—he was at her mercy now.
She was practically a schoolyard tyrant!!
“…Fine.”
“Good. Then here’s what’s next…”
Xia Yi gazed at the emblems in her hand, a plan forming in her mind.
“Just like James did earlier, you’ll go find other teams—specifically those holding the highest-scoring emblems for the remaining attributes—and lure them here to challenge me.”
