Volume 2 + Chapter 51: Is That You?
More than a decade ago.
Near the Kingdom of Rhine.
Miu Miu sat atop her magical beast, hovering in midair, gazing down at the swordsman below.
“So the so-called legendary Human Sword Saint still isn’t using his full strength?”
Wright Schubert, clad in armor, gripped the holy sword tightly, its blade plunged into the ground to support himself and keep his body from collapsing.
He hadn’t held the title of Sword Saint for very long—it was only recently that he had earned the recognition of the holy sword Gulām.
Not long since his rise to fame, he hadn’t yet managed to fully tap into the sword’s potential before encountering such a formidable enemy.
“Just who… are you?”
“My name? You’re not worthy to know that yet, Wright Schubert.”
Miu Miu crossed her legs, resting her pale hand on her silk-covered thigh, and gently swung it back and forth.
“Why not get serious, Human Sword Saint? Otherwise, your life will end here.”
“Is the blood clan preparing to go to war with humanity?”
“Defeat me, and I’ll tell you.”
Miu Miu gave a soft laugh.
In truth, today’s battle had little to do with relations between the blood clan and humanity.
She had run away from home—just out here having fun.
Cooped up too long in the vampire royal palace, she’d snuck out for some fun and to sample the blood of various races on this continent—to see if it tasted better than that of her blood thralls.
Because of that, she couldn’t expose her identity and had to keep it hidden, hence why she didn’t give her name.
If she were discovered, the Vampire King might drag her back home, and she wouldn’t be able to keep playing outside.
She had wandered into human lands nearby and had never tasted human blood personally.
Being a vampire princess, she naturally had high standards—she wanted the finest quality blood she could find.
Conveniently, she’d heard tales of the Human Sword Saint, so she came to test this powerful human herself.
She pretended to threaten the destruction of a human city to provoke him, luring him into the forest outside.
The plan worked, and after applying a little pressure, it led to the current situation.
But this human was unlike the others—rather than cowering at the might of a higher species, he stood firm, showing remarkable resolve and no sign of bowing to her.
How amusing.
Miu Miu enjoyed this feeling. She hoped he would struggle more.
“So, Human Sword Saint, are you going to surrender now? You’ve already been knocked down by me more times than I can count.”
“…No. Let’s keep going, vampire clan.”
Wright dragged his wounded body upright once more, raised the holy sword, and took a battle stance.
“Very well—keep pretending to be tough~”
Miu Miu leapt down from the sky. Her magical beast flew to her side, merged into one, and transformed into a twin-bladed great axe, which she then brought down in one powerful stroke aimed straight at the Human Sword Saint.
Already injured, the Sword Saint’s movements had grown sluggish. Dodging was no longer possible—he had no choice but to brace himself in a defensive stance and take the blow head-on.
Boom!
“Ugh… ah!”
Wright could barely endure such a powerful strike. His knees buckled under the pressure—but even so, he clenched his teeth and held his ground.
“You actually blocked that?”
Miu Miu blinked in surprise.
She’d thought that attack would reduce the Human Sword Saint to a pile of bloody pulp.
His armor was shattered, his helmet split in two and fell off.
Catching sight of Wright’s face, Miu Miu was surprised.
He was still just a youth—far younger than she had expected.
“You will not harm humanity… not unless you step over my corpse!!” Wright roared.
“In that case… how about this?”
Miu Miu cast blood magic. She slit her wrist, and her fresh blood splattered over the nearby plants and grass.
Blood Magic – Blood Corrosion!
The vegetation corrupted by her blood began to transform, swelling into monstrous, frenzied forms. Their vines lashed out and bound Wright tightly.
Having fought for so long, the Human Sword Saint was already near exhaustion—now he couldn’t even resist.
“Y-You… what are you planning to do…?”
“Let you feel what it’s like… to be drained by a vampire~”
Miu Miu grabbed Wright by the shoulders, pushed him to the ground, then lowered her head and sank her fangs into his neck. Her sharp canines pierced his skin, and she began to drink his blood.
“Acceptable. Better than a blood thrall, at least.”
After savoring his blood, Miu Miu stood up and gave her verdict.
She glanced down—Wright’s eyes were gradually losing their light. His body was growing cold from blood loss, and his consciousness fading. If left like this, he would surely die.
“Oh well, oh well… I’m a softhearted person. I can’t stand seeing you suffer so much. I’ll send you on your way.”
Miu Miu raised her hand and called out: “Kuro, come here.”
Her magical beasts transformed once again into her weapon, which she gripped tightly. Activating Blood Magic – Monstrous Strength, she lifted the weapon high—and brought it down—
Clang!
Sparks flew.
Miu Miu’s expression shifted to astonishment—because the Human Sword Saint had picked up his sword and counterattacked.
Even now, he still has the will to fight?!
Wright had barely any self-awareness left—but he still refused to give up. Burning what remained of his life’s blood, the holy sword radiated a dazzling light as it slashed toward Miu Miu.
This is bad.
Miu Miu tried to dodge—but she was just a little too late. She was struck. Pain flared at the point of impact, burning intensely, her body scorched by the searing energy.
The holy sword had special power against creatures of darkness.
It really hurts…
Miu Miu furrowed her brows. Fortunately, this Human Sword Saint’s cultivation level wasn’t too high—otherwise, things might’ve really gotten troublesome.
At the same time, her interest deepened.
“Human Sword Saint, how about becoming my blood thrall?”
“……”
“I don’t make such invitations lightly. I might even consider… making you my kin—bestowing upon you my First Embrace.”
“……”
“Lost consciousness already?”
Miu Miu realized the Human Sword Saint could no longer respond to her—yet his fighting spirit remained undiminished.
The Sword Saint swung his holy sword upward in a slash.
“Very well, then let’s continue the fight!” Miu Miu said with intrigue. “Let’s see how long you can last!”
……
……
“How… how can this be?”
Miu Miu stared at the white-haired little girl before her—who had just summoned a holy sword.
The blade radiated a brilliant light.
There could be no mistake…
This was the Holy Sword of Wright Schubert, the Human Sword Saint.
But why was it in the hands of the Dragon Princess?
The shocking truth crashed down upon her. Miu Miu clutched her head, plunged into deep confusion.
She simply couldn’t understand why something like this was happening.
Why had the blood she drank from Xia Yi just now… carried the taste of the Human Sword Saint? This was the Dragon Princess! She had absolutely nothing to do with the Human Sword Saint…
“Hmph, damn bat, don’t try any tricks on me! I’m not falling for it! Today, I’m definitely going to teach you a lesson!!”
Shai raised the holy sword and charged at Miu Miu.
That scene…
It overlapped with one from the past.
Could it be…?
Miu Miu’s crimson pupils narrowed sharply. As if compelled by fate, she muttered the name—
“…Is it you? Wright Schubert?”
