Volume 2 + Chapter 100: Then, There’s Only One Answer!
Jiye listened to Xia Yi’s words, feeling a bit… confused?
A legend like no other?
Could she really be even more formidable than the Boss Lady?
“What is it, Miss Xia Yi?” Jiye asked curiously.
Xia Yi said, “I want to unify all the gang forces in Corolle. Simply put, I’m going to conquer all the gangs!”
“What?”
Jiye froze for a moment.
He felt it was absolutely absurd.
After all, Corolle was filled with all kinds of powerful gangs.
The Hechi Gang was indeed one of the top forces, but not the strongest. Just their rival, the Cangqing Gang, was already neck-and-neck with them. The two sides had been locked in competition for years, neither able to defeat the other.
And those weren’t even the only top-tier gangs.
Long before the rise of the Hechi and Cangqing gangs, Corolle already had formidable gangs dominating the scene.
To unify all of them? That was easier said than done. No one in all these years had ever managed to accomplish such a feat.
“Miss Xia Yi, you’re not joking, are you?”
“Nope, I’m serious. Didn’t I already say? The reason I wanted to join the Hechi Gang in the first place was to become a Mafia Superstar. And the goal I just mentioned is the only one worthy of that title, right?” Xia Yi said confidently.
Jiye, however, frowned.
Even though he knew Xia Yi was the Boss Lady’s companion, what she was saying was so ridiculous it was like playing pretend.
What was the Boss Lady thinking, seriously playing along with this girl’s childish game?
“Although becoming a Mafia Superstar is certainly impressive, you still have to consider reality, haha…” Jiye gave a strained laugh.
Normally, he wouldn’t even bother listening to this kind of delusional talk.
A little loli who looked like a mascot—what could she possibly do? Charm everyone to death?
For the Boss Lady’s sake, he was already putting it as gently as possible.
“Maybe it’s better to wait until you’ve built up some strength before considering this, Miss Xia Yi.”
Serra had already anticipated this situation.
“Jiye, are you disagreeing?”
“Boss Lady, I…” Jiye hesitated, “If it’s something you’re fully supporting, then I don’t really have the right to say no.”
“No need to sound so conflicted, Jiye. I understand that you’re now the leader of the Hechi Gang and need to think more carefully than before. But this time, I’m not just humoring the young lady—I’m serious. That’s why I came to you.”
“But…”
“Do you know? Some people, when they come into this world, have fates unlike ordinary people. They are destined to rise to the top. If you ask them to lower their goals, that would be a waste of their talent,” Serra said. “These people are Kings by nature, born to stand above others.”
“Boss Lady, you mean…?”
“That’s right. The young lady is a natural-born King. You’ve only skimmed the surface and judged her by appearances, coming to a shallow conclusion that her ideas aren’t worth considering.”
“But I don’t blame you. I was once just as shallow and arrogant, speaking rudely to the young lady and thinking I was the only one being logical and sane.”
“But she didn’t hold it against me. Instead, she showed her ability, accepted me, and corrected my mistaken views… Come, Jiye, don’t resist. Open your heart and feel the young lady’s ambition.”
Suddenly, Serra started laying on the mythology, heaping praise on Xia Yi.
She gave Xia Yi a subtle look.
At first, Xia Yi didn’t understand what it meant, but then she had a realization.
If Jiye helped her purely because of Serra’s pressure, he would definitely do so reluctantly.
He had to believe in the plan himself. Only then would he commit wholeheartedly—and possibly inspire that same belief throughout the Hechi Gang.
Unity would multiply their strength.
So now, there was only one thing she needed to do: completely change Jiye’s impression of her.
She stood up and raised her hand, as if she were placing Jiye within her grasp.
That gesture left Jiye even more puzzled—what exactly was she trying to do?
The Dragon King’s Aura!
“I will impose my will over all of Corolle. I shall rule this city!” Xia Yi’s silver eyes shone with a faint light.
Jiye stood frozen, unable to breathe.
He didn’t know what was happening. His body just instinctively reacted—dropping to one knee, he bowed before Xia Yi in total submission.
It felt like his heart was in her grasp.
Just a gentle squeeze, and it might shatter completely.
But then, that overwhelming pressure disappeared—as if a thousand pounds had been lifted off of him.
Xia Yi’s eyes returned to normal.
“Why… why did I…”
As Jiye’s mind stabilized, his pupils trembled, and he looked completely stunned.
“Jiye, now you understand, don’t you? The young lady is a natural-born King. She chose the Hechi Gang because she believes we’re worthy of her ambition,” Serra continued to guide him.
Jiye looked up and stared at Xia Yi. For a long while, he didn’t say a word, as if carefully savoring his new understanding. At last, his expression turned passionate.
If she truly had such power… then maybe—just maybe—she really could conquer all the gangs…!
“Amazing! I understand now!”
The current leader of the Hechi Gang stood up.
“No wonder the Boss Lady respects Miss Xia Yi so much! I have felt it for myself—what it means to be a natural-born King!”
The reason Jiye reacted so dramatically was due to Serra’s psychological setup. She had prompted him not to resist. And with his mental defenses lowered, Xia Yi’s sudden aura struck deep into his psyche, making him feel as if he was teetering on the edge of death.
Then, when that pressure was lifted, it felt like being granted a second life.
That push and pull made Jiye instinctively believe Xia Yi held power over his very existence.
That’s what it meant to be utterly overwhelmed.
For the dragons, who respect strength above all, this was far more convincing than a thousand words of persuasion or strategic analysis.
“Jiye, what is your answer now?” Xia Yi asked.
“Then, there’s only one answer!” Jiye now fully recognized her. “On behalf of the Hechi Gang, I am willing to serve Miss Xia Yi!”
“I can feel your resolve, Jiye.” Xia Yi nodded.
Serra also smiled.
If Jiye had resisted even a little, the Dragon King’s aura wouldn’t have had such a perfect effect.
“Miss Xia Yi, during our future operations, would you like to use a codename?”
“A codename?”
“Yeah, think of it as a special title. A lot of people use one during gang activity.”
Xia Yi thought about it. Like Chen Tie and Jiye—those were clearly not their real names.
Using a codename… sounded kind of fun?
The little princess got interested.
Though for now, she hadn’t thought of a good one.
She looked toward Serra.
Serra’s codename…?
“Jiye, tell me, what was Serra’s old codename?” Xia Yi suddenly asked.
“Boss Lady? Miss Xia Yi, let me tell you—Boss Lady’s old codename was seriously something else—”
