Volume 1 + Chapter 47: The Crying, Tantrum-Throwing Little Fox
The sudden scene before her left Xia Yi momentarily speechless, and she withdrew the Dragon King’s oppressive aura.
“Are… you okay?” Xia Yi asked.
“Huh?”
Yue Liu’s eyes finally regained their sparkle, as if she had just woken from a dream. She had no idea what had just happened.
All she saw was her sworn enemy gazing at her with concern.
Is there something about me worth worrying over?
The question floated through the fox girl’s mind.
But for some reason, she felt a strange sensation—her lower body was oddly warm. Why was that…?
As Yue Liu pondered this, she glanced down—and nearly shrieked in horror.
This is beyond disgraceful!
By then, Xia Yi had already approached, standing right in front of the Nine-Tailed Fox Princess.
Before she could even speak, Yue Liu recoiled and screamed—
“Don’t look at me!! No looking, no looking, absolutely no looking!”
Her face burned crimson as she desperately tugged at her skirt, trying to cover her legs—and the utterly humiliating state she was in.
But how could she possibly hide it?
The ground beneath her was already wet.
It’s over. It’s over!
Social suicide!
Yue Liu couldn’t bear the thought of being this humiliated in front of her most hated rival. How could she ever face her again after this?!
Tears welled up in the Nine-Tailed Fox Princess’s eyes as she bit her cherry-red lips, her entire body trembling.
“Still want to fight?” Xia Yi asked.
“I—I—”
“Or do you want to keep battling like this? Though, you might want to change clothes first…”
“…!!!”
“Not that I mind, but I might not be able to hold back my laughter during the fight—pfft,” Xia Yi stifled a giggle, forcing it back down. “Sorry, sorry. I’ll try my best to hold it in. Don’t worry, I won’t even mention the… scent.”
To Yue Liu, Xia Yi’s expression was nothing short of a scheming, gleeful villain.
She’s doing this on purpose! She’s definitely trying to embarrass me!
Silver Dragons are pure evil! That smirk means nothing good—she’s absolutely despicable!
“Y-You…!”
Yue Liu glared at Xia Yi, itching to pounce on the little dragon girl and bite her hard!
But then, Xia Yi delivered the final blow—using Yue Liu’s own earlier words to utterly crush the pink-haired fox’s fighting spirit.
“The daughter of the Nine-Tailed Fox Emperor, the Fox Princess, Yue Liu · Jitusierzhuoya—didn’t you say our battle today would go down in history, sung of for generations, remembered for all eternity~?”
At that moment, Yue Liu’s fox brain short-circuited, steam practically rising from her head as her face turned as red as a fully ripened tomato.
Mentally shattered. Game over!
With a loud, wailing cry, she burst into tears, utterly defeated.
“WAAAHHH! I hate you, hate you, hate you the most!!”
“Huh? Why does it sound like I’m the bully here? Weren’t you the one who challenged me?” Xia Yi tilted her head, perplexed.
Unable to endure the shame any longer, Yue Liu shwooped into her true form—
A tiny, adorable pink-furred nine-tailed fox.
“You’re still as cute as ever,” Xia Yi remarked, her lips quirking in amusement.
“Yip yip! Yip yip yip, yip yip yip yip!!”
After unleashing a stream of incomprehensible fox language, the little fox bolted away in a blur.
Perhaps because she had lost all will to fight—or perhaps because she had already conceded defeat in her heart—the Sakura Moon Barrier dissolved.
The battle was over.
Xia Yi emerged victorious.
She reappeared in the Cold Wind Valley.
Everyone witnessed the scene—after the dragon and the fox vanished into that mysterious barrier, no one knew what had transpired inside. But when it all ended, the Silver Dragon Princess stood there, completely unharmed and utterly relaxed.
Meanwhile, a pink-furred little fox fled the scene, tears streaming down her face as she ran without looking back.
It was impossible not to wonder—what on earth happened between those two?
When Hei Ya saw Xia Yi, his face lit up with joy. “Princess Xia Yi!! Does this mean you’ve defeated the fox swordsman?!”
“Of course. I barely even got serious, and she couldn’t take it. How boring—I thought she’d at least help me kill some time.”
Xia Yi lazily yawned.
Hei Ya’s forces erupted into cheers, their morale soaring.
High above, Lucia observed everything. Seeing Xia Yi unharmed eased her worries.
“Perhaps Her Highness is even stronger than I imagined… No wonder the Queen has such faith in her.”
While one side rejoiced, the other was plunged into despair.
This outcome undeniably marked Gu Dan’s defeat.
“What the hell?! Since when are foxes so useless?!” Gu Dan roared in fury.
His trump card, Yue Liu, had been defeated. With his nephew now backed by the dragons, Gu Dan knew his forces stood no chance—no matter how strong they were, they couldn’t oppose the might of the Dragon Clan. His nephew would never spare him. His only hope was to flee.
“Charge!! Full assault—attack now!!”
Gu Dan barked orders, commanding his troops to advance in a desperate last stand.
Meanwhile, he turned and ran.
But it was already too late.
When he reached the entrance of Cold Wind Valley, his face paled.
Lucia had already sealed off all escape routes—massive boulders blocked the mountain pass, cutting off his retreat.
“Th-This…!”
Xia Yi weaved through the battlefield, magic flinging aside any soldiers in her path, until she stood before Gu Dan.
The Silver Dragon Princess’s presence alone sent a chill through every lizardman on the field.
Gu Dan begged, “W-Wait, Dragon Princess! We can negotiate! Whatever my nephew offered you, I’ll double it—!”
But Xia Yi had zero interest. She hadn’t come to the Blackstone Kingdom for profit in the first place.
“Shut up.”
With a flick of her wrist, she summoned an ice spear—controlling its force just enough to knock Gu Dan unconscious. She tossed him to Gu Ya to deal with. Whatever the lizardmen decided to do with him was none of her concern.
With their leader effortlessly defeated, Gu Dan’s forces lost all will to resist. The battlefield fell silent as soldiers dropped to their knees, bowing before the silver-haired loli in submission.
“Your Highness, the battle is over. You have quelled all rebellion in the Blackstone Kingdom,” Lucia said as she descended from the sky, shifting back into her red-haired elder sister form before bowing respectfully.
Perfect timing.
“Lucia, come here,” Xia Yi said.
“What is it?”
“There’s a mission I need you to carry out.”
